Hi all,
Recently got the Incredible S and have noticed that the default orientation for Landscape Apps is for the capacitive touch screens to be on the right.
This is okay until I want to plug in earphones. The fact that the earphones are at the bottom left where my left hand is to hold the phone is very annoying.
Is there any way to change this so games etc. load so their landscape orientation is with the capacitive buttons are on the left (and as a result earphones are sticking out at the top right)?
I'm running CM7.1RC1 if that makes any difference.
Cheers

i know that i can set a little noise when I tap the screen which frankly is a little annoying, but what I would like is a sound when I tap the screen only when using the keyboard. is that possible?
thanks
Ok... I've tried my best to comb through the forum, but no one seems to have this issue.
Whenever someone calls me, and after I pick the call up, the dialer would disappear into a black screen upon my touching the screen. And when I lift it, it would appear again, but disappear when I press my finger. This has happened several times over the last 2 months. Sometimes it will happen when I make a call as well.
I have noticed that it happens with or without a screen protector.
Is there a solution to this? Thanks.
The proximity sensor is at The Top right of the screen next to the front camera. It turns the screen off when it detects the phone is at The side of your face, so you don't press buttons during your call.
If your holding your phone upright and your finger covers the proximity sensor during a call it will do the same thing. Just make sure you keep your fingers away from the sensor during a call.
I'm pretty sure the sensor is disabled if the phone is laying horizontal, but not 100% on this.
The sensor also does other cool things, for example, if you use your phone as an alarm, no need to deal with the snooze button, just put the phone face down and it will snooze.

I thought that was the case, but I have been using it (on speaker) away from my face and hands.
Perhaps I should pay more attention to this function before my next post.
Is there a way to disable the volume controls and on/off switch as I keep accidentally touching them when, say, watching a movie?
when you are watching a video with the stock player press the power/lock button, you will see a little lock icon up the top of your screen, this should stop the hardware buttons from stuffing up your videos. hope this helped
Hey guys, Ive been experiencing an annoying bug with the HTC One. I record videos in landscape mode and then when I try to playback holding the phone in landscape mode it shows the video in portrait mode instead and when I keep my phone right side up it plays back in landscape mode so i have to tilt my my head... its super annoying
Then its' likely they weren't recorded in landscape even though you thought they were.
The camera buttons should always be oriented in your direction when recording. If they're not, then it hasn't registered that you've rotated the device (either because you turned it off or are holding it flat, etc).
So the touchscreen on my phone was acting up and I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem. When I was at the gym listening to music, I guess my screen turned on in my pocket and my music paused coming in contact with me since the phone was facing my skin. The same thing happened if I left a youtube video on. With youtube videos it would pause, move the time bar or switch songs. When I try listening to voicemails the phone would randomly go to standby, possibly by the double tap triggering. All this happens without me touching the screen directly in anyway. Was this something with the software or something else?
Mine has done this when my leg was sweaty, it triggered the leg skin touches through the fabric.
My screen won't turn on even if i press the button on the back sometimes but if i hold it towards any source of light it will work fine.but if I'm in a dark place it will not turn on.any ideas what could cause this?

It may be that your screen is turning on, but the auto-brightness is adjusting the screen to full darkness mode because of detecting the dark place. You can try manually disabling auto bright?
