Its best installing a rom from fastboot so you don't get these errors.

If you downloaded the file "SwiftDroid_v2.0_RC0_recovery.zip" you first need to extract that zip to get the two update files:
1. "update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-signed.zip" which is the file you should copy to your SD card and then install with recovery.
2. "recovery.img" which is Clockworkmod Recovery version 4.0.0.5 which you can flash with "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

Thanks for your advice. I will try to flash update through recovery and recovery img through fastboot cmd. It was may be due to my recovery 3.2.0.1.I understood .I have another query that I hard CM7.1 RC0 rom does not contain market any Gmail aps, is it true?

Many many thanks to you. Final I successful to install 2.3.4 .Although I have still my old recovery 3.2.0.1.I don't know whether it is compatible with CM 7.1 or not.If not then I have to flash manually 4.0.0.5 recovery which I got with CM 7.1 zip for recovery. Thanks for gapps link.May be due to upgrade it was already in rom

[Q] Do I need to flash clockwork recovery with team hacksung's build?

Hi
I flashed team hacksung's build 16.
When I launch rom manger, it ask if I want to install clockwork recovery.
I thought it was already installed? Is it safe to proceed? My current recovery seems just fine.
You have to install it, if you want to download files with RomManager. Yes the CWM is already installed.
Sent from my SGH-I9000 using XDA App
So what will it install if I already have CWM?
Just tell the app you have version 3.x.x.x and it will be ok.
thanks but how do I do that?
In app -touch flash Clockworkmod recovery , select galaxy s mtd,it will tell you its not available for your device and ask you if you have installed yourself- touch yes then 3.x.x.x .
thanks worked fine

Few times ago, I got the same problem and I think I solved it with an update of ClockWork Recovery Mod
I downloaded rom manager from app store and hit the "flash clockworkmod recovery" . Then there came a list with phone models, but the gt-i9001 wasnt included, so i chose gt-i9000, i hope that wont be a problem. Next i went into recovery mode, there i saw i was using feamod 1.4 based on cmw 5.5.0.4. After little bit of googling i found that this is the latest cmw vesion... So i backuped my current rom (BlazR ultimate). Wiped everything, format system, chose zip from sdcard and tried the kang version of cm9. Also tried the cm9 normal build4 and tge paranoidandroid but all failed. Just for trying i tried to flash the blazR Rom again, wich has firmware 2.3.6, but this went perfect. So how can it be that my cmw only flashes non-ics roms?

Nevermind. Allready solved. The feamod cmw recoverys dont support ics.. soort i flashed team win recovery

Got a boot loop by rom toobox

Hello i installed rom tool box pro and i saw some options to change the icons of wifi.I did a bakup too and installed the icons but unfortunately it was stored on internal memory. Then it asked reboot and when i rebooted got a boot loop.
How to fix this? Is there any way to get the backup file from my internal memory?
Thanks.
If you have access to recovery, use aroma file manager. You will have to place the aroma zip on sd or internal storage and flash via cwm. Then you will have a file manager to work with

So why don't you just do that what you asked for in the torrent thread? Download and install a Stock Rom. After that you have "clean" state and can start again.
Or download some of the Custom Roms here and follow the installation instructions. Same result but already on Custom with all the benefits.

try flashing official cwm 5.0.2.6 or latest
first revert to stock rom format your sd card in phone then flash the cwm and then try flashing any maclaw rom
you can search for zip file of cwm or go here and flash it via odin http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465599

i tried flashing his rom using cwm recovery. and it said the installation is bad or something. installation aborted.
As it says installation is bad then the zip file may not be fully downloaded OR it may be corrupted. The other roms r working right?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda app-developers app
Maclaw's site no more supports resume on downloads & there's a high probability that the file you downloaded is corrupted. Try downloading the file again.

Your sdcard might be corrupted too, so test the advice of fellow and if it doesn't work format your sdcard in FAT32 format using your pc or your phone and then try to flash the rom again
