I have flashed my phone with the rom:
PDA: I9003ZHKC1-REV08-ALL-low-CL940719
Phone: MODEM_I9003ZHKB4_REV_00_CL908871.tar
CSC: GT-I9003-CSC-TGY.tar
(It's a Hong Kong rom)
after flashing my i9003, it can't read my sim card and i can only have an emergency call. How can i solve this problem? I have flashed it twice and still can't read the sim card.
Try again with XXKB3 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004647

Did you backup your efs partition before your flash?
If your efs partition got messed up you may have lost your IMEI - If that is the case and you don't have backup -- your only option might be the samung service center..
There are some firmwares that work for specific countries. Usually when you end up using a sim that is not supported by that baseband firmware. it wont read obviously. Where are you from anyways and why flash a HK Firmware?
perhaps, you must try to put your company APN manually.

I had a problem with my Samsung galaxy s i9000 and i was told to flash it using Odin, i downloaded the files from sam firmware and put android 2.3 onto it, when it had completed the phone will not get a service, everything else works fine and it reads the sim card and the contacts etc it just wont connect to network?
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Josh
Does it work wireless ?
Does it get phone network, or both data and phone services are unavailable ?
Do you have in wireless and network settings under mobile network the "use data packet" switched on ??
Did you try with a sim from another operator just to see if it's a matter of specific operator settings ?
I got italian language, maybe settings name are a bit different from the ones i mentioned, but that's the concept.
Bye

Check if your IMEI is correct, you find it under settings, about, status.
Your correct IMEI is on a sicker under the battery.
Edit: to late ; )

nope when i try and make a phone call or send a text it says "mobile network not available"
mmmm....
are you sure you downloaded the correct rom ? I mean there are different roms for different countries.
While you just reflashed, why dont you go back to original stock rom or to a stable one (one i remember is JPY_JPY_JPY) just to see if everything works fine ?
Anyway....which was the problem you had that required you to flash with odin ??
Yeah you prolly downloaded a rom fir another region if your imei is in tact and ya vant even make calls. If you can make calls and just cant use data then the rom doesnt have your apn settings and you will have to add them manually.

Have you bought it used with this problem?
If so there is a chance that the IMEI is reported stolen and blocked at the service provider.

I'm not sure to understand, does your phone shows "SIM unfound" or a similar message?
If yes, double check that your SIM card is properly installed.
You can also check that another SIM card works on your phone.
I already saw some strange behavior with a defective SIM.
If not, the problem source can be you APN configuration or a bad flash.
Why do you want to downgrade to ICS?
This is very risky, you may brick your phone.

Ok, downgrading has probably messed up a few things.
I'm not confident with all this, I just can advice you to check those posts:

Hi,
I have one I9000 with I9000XWJW1 / Gingerbread - Firm.2.3.6, and when I insert a pre-paid SIM card from Movistar in Argentina it can't connect to the network, I tried a manual search and connect, and always say to try later, but never works.
The phone was working good when I was in netherlands, and the SIM works ok on another samsung, different model and bought unlocked. The I9000 I unlocked it myself.
Can it be because of the IMEI it has now (00499************)?
anyone there?
Check if the baseband of your FW is compatible with Argentina's mobile networks.
If not, you can flash another firmware that is.
EDIT:
Ouch.... OK, I see now that you've lost your IMEI.... (0049...)
Flashing Gingerbread JVU firmware usually restores it. Good luck!
Maybe it's racist.
