ok now i have a htc cdma hero for sprint and recently the market has been giving me problems like it turns off the data connection and i have to keep hitting retry i have tried to find the cause for this and i havent found a clear answer anywhere it is only the market that does this i can go on the internet or use data for anything else and it is fine. also after a while i cant download any apps it says download unsuccessful
rooted using liquidsense 1.1 deodex signed
if anyone knows how to fix this or knows a place that has information on this that would be great
it has something to do with the new market and 2.1 sense roms i always had that issue, but its fine on cyanogen and aosp roms.
Is there a version of the market I could install that works and a way to keep it from updating? I was thinking of trying a new rom but if I don't like any other roms or they don't have the wireless teather I'm going to go back to this rom because I have to have the internet to look for jobs

unfortunately no the market will automatically update itself when u load it.
so there is no way to remove the market updater i see it in the app manager list. or is there a way to fix the problem?
you could try that if its a deodexed rom worst case scenario is the market will fc then u could simply restore the rom
The answer to everyone's problem
Here it is the problem solver

So I just rooted my G1 and installed Eclair 2.1.
For some reason I can't download anything from the market? Everything just sits at the 'installing' section of the app market and never really starts.
I would just install everything off the SD card but the ROM didnt even come w/ a file manager
Would I be better off installing a different rom or am I missing something? I am not recieving text messages either, but I was told that is because the G1 isnt compatible/working w/ the default message system and I would need to use a 3rd party app (Handcent, ChompSMS, etc)
Any help is appreciated
I have a retarded issue with it on my 1.5 Dream. Try signing into Google Talk. Not much of a fix... but if it works...

First, we need to know which rom you're using. Eclair is the version name of 2.1, not the rom. At that point, we might be able to help you. Also, roms generally dont come with file managers, you have to use your own. An alternate way to install your apps would be to install them through ADB.

Whomever told you that the G1 doesnt work with the default messaging app on 2.1 was lying. I can think of three roms off the top of my head that run it just fine. Hell, i've got it working on my G1 as I type this.
So once you get us some more information, perhaps we could help you out.
like the other guy said, i have heard that signing into google talk fixes the market download bug, also try rebooting, if i have this problem a reboot and about 5 minute wait will fix it.
I was trying a new ROM today, but decided to switch back to my backed up ROM that I did just before I flashed it with the new ROM. Since then, not all of my apps are showing up in the "Download" section of the market. If I search for an app that is installed, it will show it as being installed, but will not show up in the download section. I've tried running it as AT&T and with Market Enabler faking T-Mobile.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what do I do?
Thanks in advance!
Some of my purcheased apps are not showing after installing the new firmware and I can't find them on the market.
MarketAccess faking T-Mobile didn't help... thank God for nandroid
I am having the same issue. Can't even find Asphault HD that I paid for. I just don't want to do a nandroid right now. Im sure something will work out.
I need a little help.
Recently I've been switching roms back and forth between cm6 and aosp 2.1.
My problem is that on csrom 2.1.5 and damaged 2.09 and even the .5 ruu, I can't download apps from the market.
They all get stuck at "starting download" and nothing changes. I've tried stopping and starting the download with no solution.
The only rom in which market works is in cm6.
Can anyone offer insight?

with today's date...google claims it's fixed..it isn't
maybe it's not a problem on my end...
Could possibly be a problem with the market and/or network, but I just downloaded 4 or 5 new apps from the market earlier today with no hitches or problems at all.
Try updating your profile on a Sense-based ROM, maybe just nfinitefx45's stock. Could be that the market no longer recognizes your data profile associated with your account because of so many recent changes. Settings->About phone->System updates->Update profile
Not saying this will definitely fix your issue but it is a good thing to try. If it works, you could probably re-flash the ROM of your choice after you do this and still be fine.

Hey I did try that earlier today because from past experience flashing a sense rom fixed some issues.
I updated the prl today to ..669 and did all the updates possible on the about menu. Nothing worked.
Thank you for the suggestion though.
I never thought i'd miss the market so much haha
What I don't understand is why it works fine in cm6 and not in darch or stock....
by the looks of it though, http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/label?lid=7dc8a5c590cd22ee&hl=en
it's not just me..
my market was working earlier in the morning, don't know what could've changed..
I had this issue too just now, I had to change to wifi to get downloads going. I don't know why; I hope it's temporary
I ended up going with cm6
figured I might as well

I need help please. My phone is not in a good place.
Here's my current state:
AOSP 2.3.2 (Gingerbread) [02/09/2011] installed
Home Button doesn't work
Phone Button doesn't work
No Market app installed so can't download anything
Browser works
Incoming calls don't work
Outgoing calls do work
Lock screen doesn't show up
Probably many more issues with things I haven't tested
Here's how I got there:
1) Installed AOSP 2.3.2 (Gingerbread) [02/09/2011] with Firerat's Mod
2) Everything seemingly worked well. Was prompted by Market to install all of the google apps
3) The apps from Marketplace didn't install. I ended up finding the "fix the Market" link on the Wiki and that solved the problem
4) Installed the core apps but some wouldn't install - like Voice Search - failing with an Insufficient Space error I believe
5) Started revisiting the parameters for the Firerat mod (mtdpartmap.txt) and reflashing the FR-boot
6) Didn't solve problem so decided to flash/wipe/reinstall AOSP 2.3.2 again
7) Got me to the state I'm in now. I tried 3 more times, still this is happening.
Going to try now with the 20110210 build and see if that's better. I see there's a fix for the lock screen so maybe it's related. Meanwhile, has anyone seen these symptoms before?
Thanks!

Sorry to hear about that, but I would recommend you to follow the steps from here: http://romrepo.info/wiki/index.php?title=Install_from_another_ROM. Try doing it without Firerat's MOD. Perform step # 2 - 2 to 3 times, before you flash the ROM.
Try and report back. Hope it helps.
SOLVED
2/10/2011 update solves this problem!
When you flash a different Ron, you need to go through the whole from process starting with fr- recovery after wiping/formatting everything. I have had troubles with 2/10. Maybe bad download. I get a weird keyboard error and it wants to send Google a report and can't get by that to start signing in.
I flashed on top of 2/6 yesterday, but still had VVM problems. I finally got that sorted out with 2nd method in GB wiki and started new TB folder.

I was wondering, im trying to find way to setup my phone with hdmi out and wireless controllers for game out. I found out sixaxis, icontrolpad, etc doesnt work with the thrill. Question is does any controllers of any kind work or is there a patch / update firmware i can install tht would support it? IM currently on a rooted 2.2.2 froyo that came on thrill.
Sixaxis does work but for Cyanogen roms not froyo/gingerbread

wanted to make sure before i went crazy on phone lol
ugh great i made a backup of rom now im stuck in bootloop, trying to figure out how to get out of it
factory wipe or reflash
Ok saved my phone with v20c firmware and got it rooted im trying to figure out how to install nightly its in iso format, do i mount it and run it or is there somehting special i need to do i dont wanna make same mistake again lol, oh also for some strange reason when i try to go to market to download anything it says i got insufficient space which i have everything formatted and did mount unmount still wont let me download.
nevermind on market i emptied cache fixed that
you should be able to install rom manager (clockwork mod) then install the zip through that (after reboot).
you wouldn't have to change baseband or anything like that.
ok got the newest cm7 nightly on and reinstalled android market i tried reputting in my apn info wont save tried reinstalling still wont save, is there something special i need to do to make apn settings save so i can reconnect to att network? I hope i dont have to start all over again >.< this is a nightmare.
