How to waive activation message for sprint tab. - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm having the hardest time taking this out.
vol thing doesn't work
and trying to erase the sprint file from root explorer doesn't work. (file doesn't exist)
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I answered this a day or two ago. Instead of me typing this out again, keep looking in this section. It shouldn't be very far away from this post, maybe a page or two at most. I'm not on a computer right now so it's a pain in the ass for me to find the post and give the link. Look, it's there.

Looked at first 5 pages with out finding anything related to it. (just by the title of course)
Also looked at your posts and was able to find it there but it's only for the froyo version. I was hoping that there was another way on ginger.
Sorry for not clarifying this on my op.

Not until they find root for it. It'll probably be today or tomorrow when they get root.

[Q] Is anyone willing to help me Root my HTC Hero? Build # 2.32.651.2

I've looked all over this site, and found a LOT of great write-ups on how to root these phones. However, I haven't found an easy, start to finish, "Rooting For Dummies" type of write up for those of us with virgin, Build #2.32.651.2, Heros.
Is anyone here willing to post up an up to date, step-by-step write up on exactly what I need to do to root my phone? Imagine that I have zero of the required apps and that I have never "rooted/jailbroken" a phone before. I hate the crap apps Sprint put on here, I'd like to save apps to my 16gb SD card vs waste phone space, I'd like to download homebrew apps, etc...I can't do any of those things with this unrooted phone.
Thank you VERY much in advance for your help!!!
Alberto
I don't think you have looked enough or searched properly. Anyways, here are some links that might help you:

I saw Regaw's rooter thread before making mine, and for those of you who know what he's talking about, it's probably very easy and well layed out. (he seems to know his stuff! But for me, right from the start I'm lost. Specifically the part that states...
Usage:
Run the "Hero Root.exe" on your computer, then plug in your Hero. It will recognize that you plugged it in, and a big button the reads "ROOT ME" will appear. Press that button and watch as your phone is rooted in under 50 seconds from start to finish.
Where and what is the "Hero Root.exe?" Half of the verbiage used is jibberish to me. I was looking for some simpler step-by-step directions...like ones similar to this write-up... http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/htc-hero-root-guide ... but that write up is old and doesn't seem like it would work for my phone. The write-up seems easy enough to understand.
DL this
And also DL this
Then plug in this
Look for this
Type in this
Hold this button down
etc.
I might be asking for too much. If that's the case, sorry. I'm a mechanical, automotive, finance guy, and sometimes electrical guy. The techy stuff (IT, hacking phones, etc) has unfortunately never been my strong suit.
Regaw provides a link to the HeroRoot.exe software in his OP. I think the link takes you to his website and you choose either 32-bit or 64-bit download.

I got no problems helping a guy out but you may be asking for a cookie bigger than you can eat. Especially after you say your not IT, Tech savvy. If you want to learn we can certainly answer away. But be forewarned this is work. You will at some point not have a working phone for a few minutes or a few hours or a few days. You will read and re-read for hours. You will pull your hair out. You will put your eye out kid.
If you follow the link to Regaw's page at the bottom the link is there for X86 and the other download is for 64bit.
If you cannot gather stuff from the links I have provided, I don't think you should really worry about rooting or installing a ROM. I think you are better off with what you have right now. Take this as friendly advice, not sarcastic.

I think maybe my original issue was that I was on a work PC that is VERY restricted in the way of what internet material we're able to see. I originally didn't see links and info.
Working on this now...
"Connected - not a CDMA Hero"
Go find the z4root program. Takes less than a minute to root your Hero. Then you will need a recovery image and you should he all set.
That or super one click. Both are easy and quick.

I've taken every suggestion in this thread, DLed every single suggested file, followed every single link and all following links, and have found nothing but broken links, crappy non-working files, and have only managed waste a bunch of my time to take up more space on my laptop. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
What an incredible pain in the ass.

what I did a long time ago(back in Dec 2010 ) was pull my microsd card out place in a reader put copies of the files on the root of the card aka [bold]/sd [/bold](unrevoked forever, the rom, cwm and gapps..) I was likely to be flashing(or launching) with clockworkmod recovery ..cwm ( now using ra 1.7 as it has been more forgiving to me on flashing) did a few NAND backups using cwm after doing unrevoked then restoring said NAND backups to make sure when I did flash the custom rom that if it borks/I bork that I can do a recovery back to stock(while still under stock you should download and install a file explorer and ,my personal fav, root explorer to be able to see files on your sd card). Pretty much any way to screw it up I've believe I've done it or at least came close to it. I have read of the heroc thread of aosp's gbcm from page 1 up to 1050ish and still a noob. But one thing I'll say is always do a backup( ran 3-10 for awhile as couldn't get any newer to install thru cwm 3xxx or it would do a bootloop/fc on setup, etc.).
So you.downloaded and ran z4root and it didn't work?

My 2 cents is that you probably don't need to be rooting. But if you must, read up on RUU.
There's too many chances to accidentally delete the wrong thing with root. Eventually you'll be doing an RUU.

Yes my friend, it is a pain in the ass and could potentially waste a lot of your time. Forums exist today solely to help 2 groups of people. Noobs like you and I and Addicts like Me and a lot of other folks. Hang in there or punt, your choice. There are some really nice folks here that will help you too but you have to put in the time, no getting around that.

Dude - I'll say it AGAIN, you should seriously reconsider rooting/flashing, if you could not get it done inspite of claiming to have read the information, something's not right.
When I rooted my phone, I just followed the stuff that was on the wiki, it was smooth sailing. I think, with all the information and super devs on this (Hero CDMA) forums, Hero is the easiest to root and handle.

well yesterday i did a hard reset on my phone, basically erased all the apps on it. today i decided to go back to stock firmware. i was currently running some froyo mod called JC16 or something like that. (sorry) So idk what happened, i think i pulled out my phone a little to early from Odin3. and it basically froze. now whenever i turn on my phone it goes onto the at&t WORLD PHONE splash screen, and keeps blinking and doesnt go past that. I tried going into download mode by using all button ways, but all it does is go to the battery sign, and a rotating symbol followed by the battery (in grey color). I let it sit and wall-charge for about 5 hours, and still nothing. I keep trying to go into download mode but it wont work. I really need help, tomorrow i have a meeting, and i need this phone. please help, im so sorry if this is the wrong section, but i need help immediately. im a complete noob at this stuff, so please help out, and i cant get past the at&t screen no matter what, please help me out please!

You are not bricked. Since it seems you can't use key combos, you have to force download mode either through a jig or adb

Google adb and download it. It is where it creates a virtual shell that makes your phone do stuff (laymens term). Then you type in command prompt. Adb then su then reboot download (after each step hhit enter)

BTW, this place is made up of volunteers. No one is paid to be here or to help, so coming in asking for immediate help is somewhat offensive. Much of the help available here is of the do-it-yourself variety. That means you should do a search and invest some of your time in finding a solution, not expecting someone to jump just because you ask them to. This is a community, not a help desk.

Had you read the rules you would have seen the one about it being better to post to an existing related thread rather than start a new one. There must be a dozen existing threads with similar titles you could have posted to. Instead, we now have yet another that someone who is respectful and does a search first will get no help from when yours comes up in the search results.

First of all, I am going to assume (perhaps wrongly) that you are 14 years-old (from your user name), and believe me when I tell you: I know that age is hard, and I know because I've been there, however, no matter how hard it was for me I knew that if I dared asking my mother what a word meant, I'd get immediate attention and instructions to f-off and check up on a dictionary (there was no wikipedia nor google back then) and that no-one else was going to do for me what I didn't do by myself, it is with such background that I want to tell you something:
Last saturday I decided to try ICS on my N1, I had no idea where to start since it had been over 8 months when I last did anything to my phone. Still it took me 25 minutes to not only find the right thread, read it, understand it, download the stuff I needed, and read again to make sure I am not doing something dumb, it also was enough time to actually do the whole process.
Now, considering you already found your way into XDA-Developers and you know how to read threads and know how to post questions, I'd say you have wasted approximately 1 hour thinking somebody is actually going to give you the ROM for ICS and Blackrose, let alone baby-walk you through the process.
I am going to assume that most devs are ignoring this thread (and rightly so) as well as most respected members (and I'd like to consider myself a quiet, self-respected member) but still, I do believe its good to take a bit of time from everyday routine to let someone else know "hey! you are doing it wrong" and hopefully get into that person's head and make that little switch go click.
If after all of this you still feel entitled to have someone hand you over a couple of files, please by all means head over to this location: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2031989&postcount=45
Thanks and have a great life!
srry im very new here and i couldnt get my way around and ive been checking for hours on the files for ics on the N1 and had nothing but thanks for ur reply
as i said, again im extremely new to all of this and i dont know how to put ROMs in the phone and how to just do any of this if anyone can just give me something from where i can start i will be gladly appreciated
See, now that is different and worth of paying at least a little bit of attention. However I don't believe you have spent hours without making some sense of anything, at least you know about ICS and Blackrose, you may have a rough idea of what you want to accomplish, and so I'll point you in the right direction by telling you to look for the very first thread on the android development forum for nexus one, the one referring to the wiki and to now read it instead of skipping it as you probably did the first time. I'm sure if you read through it you'll understand the basics and will be able to figure it out really soon.
Good luck.

You should read the instructions carefully, the process involves a few steps...
Note that there are 2 o 3 ICS ROMs for Nexus One, and they all have some glitches (USB tethering, camera, SoDs) but they are quite usable.

Obtaining Root

Searched for two days before asking this so if I missed this-my apologies in advance. Is there or is there not a working root tool/utility if I currently have 4.3 on the device (I was sent a new one and it was updated already)-and what/where is it? Please point me in the right direction and I really, really appreciate the help here.

Some context since I have a moment: I Used some type of tool/program to root this thing when I got launch day. I finally broke it on a business trip in Japan last week and I have honestly fell off the forums completely since my son was born about the same time as I originally rooted this thing. That, combined with a partnership I have taken on in business- has essentially taken all free time away and, when my replacement arrived yesterday, I felt completely inept and without any reference point in my head to work from. Sad, I really miss having the time to mess around with my gadgets and I've learned so much here, but I'm really hoping to find some balance soon enough. So on lunch, after a day and a half of searching, I gave up and indeed made a very clumsy post, absent of any real thought-clearly showing some frustration. I Still have no idea where this all in one that I know I used to root this originally went and I certainly posted in the wrong section-no excuse for that- the gentleman has every right to react how he sees fit although after 7 years here I never found any productivity come out of commenting in that manor-so I choose to conduct myself differently from the outset. Appreciate the time and help.

I hear you; five kids, a full time job, and full time school and I try to build ROMs for this device. I understand where your coming from. Not the end of the world. But, as I have said in my threads before, if you make a really silly request, I reserve the right to mess with you about it. That's just me. But, I do it in playfulness, not actual meanness. Be cool, and if you need any help with anything, look me up.

No doubt you have that right and I'm all for bustin chops as well-to a point of course and yours was constructive. But some of the rage that I regularly see come out in comments here really bewilders me-I mean a paragraph about what a blanking idiot someone is or details about what they can go do to themselves- all because they are having trouble with something or even made a thoughtless post (like I did) -makes me want to say- "dude what happened in your day/life to react that strongly over something so insignificant?". Who knows. Anyway, I really appreciate you reaching out and relating to my situation a bit- especially since you clearly have a very busy life yourself-to say the least.

[Q] Finally decided to root my note 3

Long time xda fan, first time poster. So, I have a bone stock AT&T Galaxy Note 3 N900AUCUEOC1 running lollipop 5.0. For about a year now I've been contemplating rooting it but I'm worried I'm gonna jack my phone up. Besides replacing my lcd screen I haven't done really too much with it. This will be my first attempt at rooting any phone and I wanted to ask a few questions to get some clarification and direction.
First, what currently is the easiest way to root a droid for someone that doesn't speak a lick of tech?
I've read 10 different ways but if anyone would know, its you guys. Does Kingo work with what I have?
What do I need to do prior to root? I.e, what do I need to download?
Also, could you recommend a decent ROM? Whats a good backup app that will actually work?
Lastly, I have a game ive been playing for a couple years and I dont sign in, it recognizes my phone or something, its on my sd card but will i lose it when I wipe my phone? Thanks in advance for your time.
Cassidy
I would never discourage some one from rooting their phone, however, you have chosen a hard place to start. You need to become familiar with odin, and /or safetrap. There are great instructions already posted, but unless you have a working knowledge of Odin, you are going to cause yourself a great deal of headache.
I suggest finding a friend who has done it, and have them walk you through it the first time.
By the way, I have been rooting Android phone since the original Motorola Droid. And I have this one rooted. But I not so easy for people new to the process.
Any way you go, I hope it works great for you!

Best I seen about Odin with a video http://www.samsungodindownload.com/odin-tutorial/ and this is the Odin I use http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3109599&d=1420980613 Once you think you're ready http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/help/att-note-3-lollipop-t3100657 and post #4 has all the links you need. I'm on here everyday so if you need any help post here or send a message. I don't mind helping and NO, you do not have to donate to me.
