I been doing some searching and couldn't exactly find a good how to on porting lock screens maybe one of the nice devs could speak up, but im using an i9000 theme which i really like but the lack of lock screens kinda suck. So I'm wandering how does one go about porting over a lock screen mod from a to incorporate it into a theme im currently using?
I personally haven't dived very deep into the world of lockscreen options, but from what I recall it's pretty complicated, requires quite a bit of smali editing, specifically in android.policy.jar and then some more editing to framework-res.apk and settings.apk.
It would probably be easier to port the theme to a framework with the lockscreens already there like obsession/symply.
Thats the exact one I gave a go too, loved all the different lock screens with that one, but the theme its self was to stockish for my liking.
Whitehawkx posted source files in both the vibrant and i9000 section.if you know how to decompile apks and jars then it should be pretty simple for you. All of our phones are pretty much the same so using the source files and Modding your own framework and so on should go very smoothly.

Hello everyone. I have been using a theme called enoch for cm5.0.8, white widow rom, and I love it. Its a dark theme with blue highlights. My question is there any way to port it to work with cm6? I am using kaosfroyo and would like to see if I can port some of the graphics. Any help? Thanks!

Switch file names to the one you want and resize. Thats all it takes. Ive ported from Hero/N1/DROID/G1 to our phones with just doing that and no issues when using MetaMorph.
Im not quite sure I follow you? Why would changing the name help? Also the maker of this theme only makes it flashable via recovery as of now. Is it possible to port it to metamorph?
by the way I am using your theme as of right now Kevlar. I like it alot!

Some times the file name might be different from G1 to the Eris. So then you have to rename it to the Eris file name. Easiest way to do it is to compare from an Eris ROM. Then you have to resize to our size.

Thank you. Glad you enjoy it.
I am really new to all of this. Can any theme at all be ported to our Eris? I would really like to have this one on mine running CM6.
The theme is on Droid-forums.net and is 24k Black glass by Cuttalott. I can not post links yet. Sorry. I do not believe posting that is any rules infractions, but I do not post here very often.
Being from Pittsburgh, it obviously would be right up my alley, but I don't think it is possible. He doesn't have it running yet on CM6, but his other ones are. Is this anyway possible or is it out of the capabilities of our device. Like I said, not trying to bother people here, just too new to know what can and can't be done.

Any theme can be ported. Just look into making MetaMorphs and compare file names and sizes. Its that easy. Only time consuming part is resizing.
Might wanna give this a shot hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737526
There us a theme porting script over in the main theme forum,i haven't had a chance to try it yet, but definitely plan on it

I'm trying to finish a fully done GB theme for CM 6.1, I'm having one difficulty. I can't figure out what PNG's to edit to change the colors on the notification power controls here. I would love some help. :] I'm sort of addicted to theming and I will for sure be helping people port themes if I can finish this one! :]

They are in system\framework\framework-res.apk res\drawable-mdpi. They start with stat... ie. stat_2g3g_off.png
Thanks for the fast reply, I've been able to theme everything I've wanted to from apps to the entire framework, however the thing I'm running into is not knowing which file to change to recolor the portion circled in red. I've already tried stat_bgon.9 and stat_bgoff.9 to no avail. What are the possibilities that this is a color picked by an XML and not just a png?
It is likely since it can be changed in cm settings I don't know where its located

Dude! We'd love your help over here! See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858935
We are trying to port the MIUI ROM for our hero's, but we need someone who has the time/desire to port the images from hdpi to mdpi. There are programs to help make this faster, but we're having some problems with them and a lot of the images are gonna need to be ported by hand. Anyway...let me know what you think! Thanks man!
Actually! I'd love to help, I honestly think that the Miui rom is really legit. I downloaded the rom already, where should I start. I know that some of the apps have been done already right?

Do any of you themers know if it's possible to put the Vibrant style 3d-ish menus on a Captivate Rom and if so, what files need to be changed. I'll post a pic of what I'm talking about. Thanks for any help given.

All that is is a theme, they are not really 3d. Check out the darkness theme if i remember right
I know its not 3d and it's not just a theme someone made, it's how the vibrant roms come stock. Captivate roms use matte panels.

Well I am glad they came that way but there are themes floating around that look just like that. I ran one awhile back that had the menus like that. Do a search for glossy black. Have a look here.

Lol wow, you aren't understanding me. I don't need a link to a Vibrant custom theme. The stock Vibrant Rom has what I need. What I'm asking is if the people who make themes out here know what files I need to replace in my Captivate framework to make it look like this.

No I am understanding you, I am leading you to what you want to know, Most of the time it is not as simple as replacing one or 2 files, there are XML edits that might need to be done. Plus it depends on what rom you are running for not all the framework files are the same. The reason I linked you to it was so you could find your answer from someone that has made the theme and can point you in the right direction. Might not want to be so rude when asking for help. I will go back to my theming of the captivate dialer now. good luck to you
Rude? umm ok..., your responses were take as being rude as well but thanks anyway

Battery Bar
Well Im currently on Fasty III v1.2 KJ3... If you could explain to me how to do it I would like to learn so I can do it in other ROMs. Thanks!
I am away from my computer so this might not be as highly accurate...
Get the apk manager.zip tool (google it)
Then dowbload the latest miui and other rom you want it on
Open both system/framework/framework-res.apk's using apk manager.
Then find any xml or.png related to the miui battery in the miui framework
Copy them all
Then paste them in the respectable folders in the other roms framework folder.
Then recompile the other roms framework.
Then you should have a working framework with the miui battery icon
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Problem is I have no idea what files are related to what files.
When you open up the framework you can tell they usually have stat_battery in their name
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I found two files stat_sys_battery.xml and stat_sys_battery_charge.xml and thats it in the MIUI's res/drawable folder.
I have wanted to try to implement that for a long time...just don't have the smali/xml smarts. Hopefully after Dags crew enjoy the exclusivity for while they would be willing to share
When I get the time I'll look into it, even though I hate trying to theme Fasty I'll see if I can implement something like that to Fasty...No promises though, I haven't seen how MIUI is set up.
I thought a battery mod for a I897 ROM wouldnt matter as long as its gingerbread and not MIUI/CM7. I thought the file system is pretty much the same for every I897 ROM. I have been digging and i have found a miui site that has several colors you can dl and the file is the SystemUI.apk. I can post a link later so u can look at the file system and files.
EDIT: HERE is the link that I found that has a DL of different colors of the bar for MIUI
HERE is a link to a thread where its being implemented into CM7. Look at post #17
Sorry not trying to put a damper on things but there's more involved than just copying xmls and PNGs over. Plus... Obssession has color change options in settings. Not just a CWM update that replaces the whole SystemUI. You can change to your favorite colors at any time.

see thats the thing , this one is part of many mods , its not as simple as cutting one tiny part out , not to mention the ability to put it on and needs ab apk ..
I have many mods in my i9000 rom Im sure ppl coudl look into and port to i897 ,
theres a reason I havent done so myself yet , the kernel without source makes imo the i897 rom sub par i9000 roms by a long shot , but I guess that opinion is not shared , once a real kenrel comes out pm me if I miss it, il make an unthemed base for i897 rom with pleasure

I understand. I too am running an i9000 base... I was just saying that for my knowledge, its a bit above me. I just finally figured out this build how to add the locks on my own...probably, at least for me, my biggest achievement, and with my knowledge, was able to help Johnson get them implemented into his ROM..a captivate base.
I have mad respect for what you do. And hopefully someday I can learn to get that battery bar up there. I ain't in no hurry though. I am still basking in the light of my little achievement

I have mad respect for what you do haha. I am trying to learn how to implement different lockscreens and the like into roms.
But just today is when I realized he was talking about the battery bar, not the battery icon. The bar is quite over my head, I've been looking into it for about an hour now and I am probably just going to give up.
Have this on my Windows Mobile phones, Dash and Wing. Flashed Juggernaut Rom and damn, blast from the past. Would be better I think as a zip file or apk file so we could install on any rom. Would love this on my SGS2.
you can haz it

Hi all!
First of all i want to say i'm new to CM7 and themeing, but i have some experience from other places, not much though. I browsed trough themes, and kinda fell for ElegantSteel by kevin2516. After i installed it, i found it to be, well, not as streamlined as i hoped, so i've decided to give it a facelift. I seeked help in that thread without much response, so i'm going solo (for now), but will not publish before i get a go from the original maker. ATM, i'm working on remaking ALL the statusbar icons and other graphics, using Tokens icon template, slightly modified, but the todo list is long, lol. I will NOT be making custom icons for apps, and the reason is simple; there are way to many, and it doesn't look good when many icons follow a style, but some that aren't supported will stand out.
But, as i mentioned, i'm pretty new to this, and not aware of all capabilities i've got. I wan't this theme to be as complete as possible, so that users(me) won't have to fiddle around with the system files, but instead leave CM7 as stock and just apply this theme. So here are some questions i've got atm:
1. Can i include a status_bar.xml in the theme to override the stock one? This is for changing the colors of the fonts, center the clock etc.
2. Can i include my own custom DriodSans.ttf in the theme to override the stock ones? Simpler than pushing or using 3rd party app to replace, and won't be messy when changing to other themes.
3. Is there any software/scripts to make this job easier and/or organized? I look at files like $theme$/res/xml/android.xml for instance, quite a lot to keep track on (just to mention one file, lol).
More questions will come, but let's not take to many steps at the time All help will be very much appreciated.
I haven't bothered to check my xda threads in a while, still in holiday mode and focusing on other stuff.
Just do whatever you want lol
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
can you do center clock mod and put it in with the theme chooser apk? i haven't seen this done yet and i have just been editing my own systemUI.apk each time i update.
I don't know, that's why i'm asking. I most certainly hope so, i imagine i can include it like this: $theme$/res/layout/status_bar.xml (as i recall). But that might also be a sensitive .xml to put in a theme...
