[Q] Stuck in the download mode? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i used darky rom for weeks then decided to test MIUI rom
i made all steps like the installion guide but in odin "ready" didn't appear i clicked on start, set partition appeared but no thing happened
now i'm stocked in the download mode, can't get to recovery mode or to the rom
any help ???

So you wanted to flash back to Froyo and nothing happens?
Which firmware did you use for flashing, which PIT-file, was Re-partition ticked in Odin?

thanks for reply
i used odin v 1.7 ,pit named s1_odin_20100512 and the foryo rom with installation guide of MIUI GT-I9000_FROYO_FULL_PDA.the reprtitioning was ticked.
Alhamdu li Allah finally i installed the rom
that's what i did:
i removed the battery for a while.
i uninstalled samsung kies and usb drivers.
restart the computer and re install samsung usb drivers only.
used another odin v 1.3
get to the download mode and tried again and it worked finally

PIT-files should only be used with three-part firmwares.
But good that you finally got it!

[Q] I don't now what have i done... PLEASE HELP!

I wanted to root my Samsung galaxy s i9000 (gingerbread) so i followed the procedure that i found on the dkszone "How To Root Samsung Galaxy S On Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread I9000 XXJVK ROM" (I can't post a lik). It looked like it worked but after I turned on wi fi it started rebooting constantly. I removed the battery and reinserted it. After I turned it on, it was the same situation (rebooting). I than flashed it with odin founded on tread "Stuck on main screen after root, keeps rebooting" on this site (pit512 was uploaded with PIT button, repart was chacked).
Now it is dead! Please help me.
Flash 2.2 with bootloaders, then flash Stock 2.3 or any 2.3 rom
if you cant get into download mode u have to try it via jig-method to get into download mode.
if you're in download mode reflash with some stock-rom or darkys ressurection-rom.
be sure you tick on repartition and use the 512-pit file.
u may follow this guide: http://www.darkyrom.com/community/i...-darkyrom-gingerbread-jvh-noob-friendly.3080/
IT WORKED!! I managed to flash it with ginger ROM for SGS. The problem was to get into the download mode.
Thanks guys.

[Q] Galaxy Note bricked when used "u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit" in Odin

Okay. Some history to start with...
I got Chinese version of Galaxy Note which runs i9220 ROM and been trying to flash with HK/EU ROM last several days but out of luck so far. (And whenever failed, I re-loaded stock ROM found from Samsung-updates.com site for i9220. It then worked fine but still with original problem unsolved.
I then tried one last method that I saw someone succeed flashing Chinese ROM via use of PIT file came from one of the other downloads.. yeah, I didn't check the source PIT came from before try... which is my bad.
Without confirming it, I instantly located "u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit" that's packaged with odin 1.85 and carelessly gave a try.
And now... my precious GalaxyNote became the most expense brick in my house and am looking for professional help from you guys.
Steps I did before bricking and tried:
1. Load GalaxyNote in Download mode (volume down + home + power)
2. Launch Odin 1.85 and no change to default setting. (Check mark on #Auto Reboot & #F.Reset Time, uncheck on #Re-Partition & #Flash Lock)
3. Set PIT to "u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit"
4. Set PDA to "N7000XXKL7_N7000OXAKL7_N7000XXKL7_HOME"
5. Click #Start
Soon after around 5%, it failed.
I then attempted to restore factory ROM via usual way - doing same as above except no PIT this time and choosing original stock ROM for i9220.
It failed! OMG...
I then tried again (#1 ~ 5 above) but this time, check on #Re-partition for luck. Still no luck!
I then downloaded Heimdall1.3.1 and tried to extract PIT file but the tool fails as well and gives "ERROR: Failed to access device. libusb error: -12".
At all times, GalaxyNote screen shows android icon with 'Downloading... Do not turn off target!!'. And the device can also be seen from odin.
Soon as turn off galaxynote and disconnect from computer, it shows 'Software Update Fail' message.
How I can restore to original factory setting? And if possible, how I can restore to EU or Hong Kong ROM?
My Chinese friend has the same device as mine. In this case, will Heimdall tool help extracting PLT from it and help restoring my device via odin?
Your professional help is sincerely appreciated!!!!
Resolved
Using "Q1_20110914_16GB.pit" and re-partition check from odin while flashing to original stock rom has resolved an issue.
Referred from following thread.

Never use pit and do not tick repartion when flashing.
bootloader?
U are fine. It is a recovery issue and not a bootloader. Install custom recovery and flash stock firmware w odin. Oh yea, and profit.

Galaxy S ODIN Flash

Guys I've got a problem with my Galaxy S i9000 with CM9. It stopped working after restart (endless loop on Cyangenmod logo) and now I'cant get to recovery mode. Only download mode works, so I think that I must to flash it with ODIN. And there is a problem, because I can't find proper CM9 ROM files for ODIN. And what version of ODIN should I use? Now I've got 4.38 and phone is visible - it's OK?
I will be very pleased for ROM files to ODIN and some instructions how to flash it propely. I've read many threads from morning, but I can't find ROMs
Hi there,
afaik there are no CM Versions flashable via ODIN.Use ODIN to flash a Stock firmware, then install ClockworkModRecovery and Install CM9 via CWM.
You should try to take Out your Battery for about 5 minutes and try to enter Recovery Mode.
About the Odin Version: If you look at different "howto use ODIN tutorials" there are different Versions "recommended" I've used multiple ODIN Versions eg 1.3 / 1.83 and every Version made a good job.
Give this a try if Battery-out for 5 Minutes does't take you back to recovery

[Q] Bricked Gnote, no experience on the field

so i have been running Paranoid android for a while, and wanted to try this out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051904
flashed the latest cm10.1 kernel, and then formated cache, dalvic, battery stats, etc.
then i managed to reboot before i had flashed the new rom and got stuck in bootloop. could not access CWM any more
after this i downloaded odin after a few forum reads, and flashed different versions of CWM to see if i could get back in to flash the rom.
the latest one i have in it is this:
http://fs1.d-h.st/download/00033/pQK/GT-I9100_JB_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.2.9.tar
as it was recommended in some un-brick thread. still no access to CWM
after this i flashed a stock rom, as i could not find any .md5 or .tar roms to use with odin, and i got at least a samsung logo on hte screen, before i got back to boot screen and was stuck there again.
CWM still not working, or showing up in any way.
out of obvious options i now tried flashing the pit file trough odin from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
and after this the samsung boot logo did not show up anymore. only boot loop
i am now going to try and download the older ginger bread rom and flash it trough odin, but i got no idea if it will make any difference.
otherwise phone goes to download mode just fine, and i got working drivers in windows trough kies.
im quite new to this, and dont really know what would work from here. ill end up hard bricking the phone if i don't get some help, and the trash can will be my n7000 next home.
any advice is welcome

EDIT:
flashing official rom again after the pit file acrually gave me a working phone again. also i now got 50 gb of drop box storrage for free, so thats nice

************ UPDATE **************
the third post sums it... :{
****** UPDATE #2 ************
Incase anybody cares, the problem with the odin stuck was a bad download and a bad cable... lucky me. thanks for helping /trying to help
Are you able to put it in download mode. Then it is working. What odin version you use. There seems that you need to be on 1.87 odin version sure. Just google it.
did you try this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
yep tried it, when i connect the phone to a windows xp machine it pops a "Found new hardware"->"Gadget Serial" which it doesn't find.
i installed the drivers from there :{ Nothing.
************* UPDATE ************
got it to work somehow with enough uninstall and install,
downloaded speedmod (that's the only kernel i found with odin package) :{
tried to flash it and it's stuck like this
Your doing it all wrong. Why are flashing just the Kernel with Pit file
I suggest you not to mess with the pit file. Download a Stock ROM and flash it through odin and see without the pit file. You can always root it later

the thing is i don't want to reflash a rom. the only thing that go screwed was the flashing of a new kernel -> ergo i need a fresh install of a kernel. i managed to install philz got in reflashed the kernel for my rom (NX -> Stunner) worked flawlessly (15 hours after i needed the phone badly lol)
