Guys I've got a problem with my Galaxy S i9000 with CM9. It stopped working after restart (endless loop on Cyangenmod logo) and now I'cant get to recovery mode. Only download mode works, so I think that I must to flash it with ODIN. And there is a problem, because I can't find proper CM9 ROM files for ODIN. And what version of ODIN should I use? Now I've got 4.38 and phone is visible - it's OK?
I will be very pleased for ROM files to ODIN and some instructions how to flash it propely. I've read many threads from morning, but I can't find ROMs
Hi there,
afaik there are no CM Versions flashable via ODIN.Use ODIN to flash a Stock firmware, then install ClockworkModRecovery and Install CM9 via CWM.
You should try to take Out your Battery for about 5 minutes and try to enter Recovery Mode.
About the Odin Version: If you look at different "howto use ODIN tutorials" there are different Versions "recommended" I've used multiple ODIN Versions eg 1.3 / 1.83 and every Version made a good job.
Give this a try if Battery-out for 5 Minutes does't take you back to recovery

you should flash the stock rom got 3 type file, that mean the file after download got pda, csc and modam file, like 2.3.6 XXjvu, please dont flash the file after download only have 1 file only, like XXjw5.

clockwork recovery, i take it I messed up here so
No, meant what rom were you on before your flash? Stock?
oh sorry got the phone of a friend looked like a custom samsung rom, build version was easyprojectv2 if that rings any bells?
Looks like the problem was caused by trying to flash a odexed rom over a deodexed rom, or not having the correct bootloaders for the new rom. Normally before a flash I would return to stock (firmware from sammobiles.com) first via ODIN, do all the wipes, flash a kernel so you have a nice clean install to 'abuse'. Then I would add any custom rom from there be it by ODIN or by cwm.
Grab yourself a usb lead, nice clean flash and start again.
Ok so I've 3 file here:
APBOOT_I9000XWJW1_CL788890_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
CODE_I9000XWJW1_CL788890_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
KERNEL_I9000XWJW1_CL788890_REV03_user_low_ship.tar.md5
s1_odin_20100803.pit (not sure if i need this as was in the root of the odin folder not the firmware?)

I would go this way mate, first grab JVT from sammobiles.com ( register first)
Flash that using ODIN
Comes with 3 files, CSC, PHONE and PDA
PDA file goes to PDA in ODIN
PHONE goes into MODEM in ODIN
CSC goes in CSC in ODIN.
Also select PIT file, should be 512 on the PIT section on ODIN, hit start and it will flash then reboot.
Then open ODIN again, connect phone and flash your KERNEL to the PDA section of ODIN.
Then grab this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117579
and flash using cwm.
Your then on JW1 all rooted and ready to play.
put the "APBOOT_I9000XWJW1_CL788890_REV03_user_low_ship.tar" file into the PDA and flashed it. Everything seems to be working fine might stick with the stock for a while never really needed to be rooted.
ok i just popped the SIM and have no network access when i tap on Mobile Networks in the setting it tells me to insert a SIM????
the firmware i had was wrong didnt have a modem. Downloaded a jvt as buttwad said flashed an now everything working perfect now. cheers mate!
Hi guys,
i just got a Galaxy S (international, germany) and wanted to flash Clockwork Mod so i can flash a custom rom (miui). I got it with version 2.2 so i rooted it with z4root 1.3 and then tried RomManager to get CWM on it. But it did always reboot into Samsung stock recovery mode. So i tried this Odin3 1.7 and flashed a Kernel and got into a bootloop (First this one, then i used the one promoted in this video (YouTube Video, description XDA Thread with promoted Kernel. Phone now stuck at booting (isn`t even bootlooping, just stuck at the GALAXY S GT etc. logo. I still can reach the Download Mode.
Can anyone please help how to get at least the phone working again I`m really desperatly.
Greetings from Germany & Merry Christmas
Alch
Install a new Rom with odin will make your phone boot again.
2.2 is probably too old now.
Upgrade to Gingerbread Stock using Odin. Turn on Repartition and follow the instructions to flash.
Download a Custom Kernel for the Gingerbread firmware that you flashed. Every Kernel except the stock comes with CWM Recovery.
Copy the MIUI zip file to sdcard and flash it with recovery. It should boot right up.
If you are still having bootloops, try doing a factory reset and then boot MIUI.
Don't try things that you aren't experienced with.
Anyway, download odin 1.85, flash stock Froyo, launch Kies, update to official Gingerbread, launch Odin, flash Semaphore Kernel and GG.
Merry Christmas!
How can i flash Stock Froyo/Gingerbread trough Odin? Can`t find anything usefull @ google
btw i can reach Recovery Mode (CWM / Speedmonk something)
(Kinda experienced by flashing around with my N1 for around 2 years now, but never heard about this Odin Program)
thanks for help anyway

I am not going to help you with this one. You need to get comfortable with the forum and its contents first. Read all the guides and stickies before proceeding with Firmware flashing. There are many different types of firmwares with Bootloaders which are often dangerous to flash and few without bootloaders. Hence, first go through the guides and go with the flashing only when you are confident that you are doing everything in right order.

Just do what dhiru1602 says. after you flashed it with the latest Gingerbread ,
flash the cf-root kernel with odin . than download the latest galaxian/semaphore kernel, copy it to your internal sd-card and flash it with the app SGS Kernel Flasher . you can find that app on the market. good luck mate !
Thanks guys, u really saved christmas for me Just booted up the latest Miui Rom!
Happy Holidays

Flash this ROM (Its Froyo 2.2.1) using Odin:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/665428/AndroidWorld/Herstelbestanden/I9000XXJPU.zip
Make sure repartitioning is checked in Odin
PIT: s1_odin_20100512.pit
PDA: I9000XXJPU-REV03-PDA-low-CL747761.tar.md5
PHONE: MODEM_I9000XXJPU.tar.md5
CSC: GT-I9000-CSC-MULTI-OXAJPU.tar.md5
Flash.
Now you're back at Froyo 2.2.1
If you want CWM back flash speedmod K13E using Odin (make sure repartition is unchecked)
Put it in PDA
Flash

Hello guys!
Im new to the forum but i was using teamhacksungs ics port since middle of december from build 6 on to build 12 without any problems. but last weekend (my i9000 has been on build 13 for some days) i took a look on my phone to get the time and then i saw it was booting. but nothing happened it was stuck in a bootloop.
i removed the battery for some hours and tried to boot but it still gets a bootloop.
im not able to get into recovery mode, only downloadmode is possible.
help me plz, what can i do?
thx for your answers
greets steve
Look three posts above yours. It is explained in detail what to do.
Does anyone READ around here?
boot into download mode...and use heimdall to flash boot.img(in the teamhacksung's rom)(any build)
and then boot again...it will surely boot...
but i recommend onecosmic's ROM
but u did not do the process flashing back to 2.2.1?
I have never used heimdall and im a noob in flashing (it was easy with cwm recovery and the ics port)
thank you very much! i got it
The bootloop problem was covered several times - it happens kinda randomly, so the best workaround would be:
1. If you can boot into recovery - flash the same ROM again.
2. If not - go into download mode, flash stock ROM, install ICS again.

should be possible, you need to find the oldest possible stock rom and try flashing it with AiresVE.ops , MultiLoader Odin v.4.43
This happened to me, someone flashed cm for i9000 on i9001 and it worked for a while but it progressively started crashing, i took that phone and tried flashing stock but never could get pass setup connection in odin 4.43, tried all the variations (driver reinstall, new cable, remove battery, other PC etc) and in a hail marry attempt i managed to flash i9000 stock witch odin 1.83. Phone now works, enters download and recovery mode, but i still cant get past same error in odin 4.43 or flash custom recovery i any way (verification error from update method, adb flash just doesnt stick). ROM manager sees some custom recoveries but i cant enter them, my guess is because of different pit file from i9000.
Havent tried flashing i9001 rom with odin 1.83 because i cant use ariesve.obs from 4.43, i managed to connect to phone with heimdall and download pit, so that kind of connection works. My guess is that if i could somehow create pit file for this phone that works with heimdal i could flash proper stock rom, so im here to ask is it possible and how would i do it ?
Hi all..
My friend encountered this issue recently..
where the phone cannot be started and the firmware error appears.
I've tried several attemps on recovering it back.
1. it cannot go into stock recovery mode
2. it can go into download mode
so i've tried to flash thru odin:
1) philztouch custom recovery
2) stock rom jelly bean from sammobile.com
both attemps failed.
so my next move is to connect thru kies.
it failed again as it does not detect the device to do the emergency phone recovery.
so now im in the idea of trying to flash custom recovery again and a custom rom. do not know whether it works or not, but ill try.
any other solutions/ideas?
Thanks.
Where does the stock JB flash fail? Odin logs? Which version of philz kernel did you try to flash?

i cannot remember but it seems that when it comes to the "KERNEL" status appears in the odin box, it took a while n then fails.
PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT9-ORA-5.08.5.tar.md5
this is what i used to flash the philztouch.
any ideas?

If you cannot get the rom to flash.... You have to go through the philz kernel using odin.. Try to flash philz kernel xxlta version again using odin. Make sure you remove the battery for a couple of seconds. Then boot into odin mode. Use main USB ports and genuine USB cable.
