I thought this was pretty confusing... LG are releasing the white version of the P970 and are calling it the Optimus White... With the assumption that the pink version will be called the Optimus Pink. Is this the first time a handset has been named after its case colour?

I work at a Sprint repair center and a week ago some LG reps came in with this phone. It's gonna be called the Sprint Mirage. It seemed pretty solid for a middle-end device but not as snappy as other phones with 1ghz processors. Also, it was still black, not white.

Hee i discovered i have a backcover from the lg p999 while i have the lg p990. Not realy a problem or something, but are there other people that also have this?
What's the difference?

It's the same.
But when you open ur back cover, you can see it.
It's typed with black letters.
Mine also says p999. It is without the LG logo on the back.
Just With Google.
I think all the covers says that lol mine says p999 too and it is from portugal

I baught the LG Optimus 2x a few days ago and rooting and everything was no big deal but now I have these white sports around the top left and right corner and the bottom right corner. Everything else is working fine.
I read about the problem in a german blog but it was just if ppl could live with it or not and no awnsers. Its not a softwareproblem as far as i know its a hardware problem.
So my question is: Is this a general problem with this device or did I just get a 'bad one'?
Does anyone else have this problem?
Im thinking of giving back the phone and ordering it again but I fear it will just have the same problem again.
Any help is appreciated. Thx
Its a common problem.
Its the backlight thats too bright to "hide" with black pixels..
On most devices it a matter of more or less of this bleeding.
Try to decrease screenbrightness

I like the phone its fast and everthing but the spots just jump to my eye everytime i use it. THATS NO FUN
i dont notice any whit spots on my device unless its completely dark, a black background is present and the brightnes is really high, then i notice that some corners are slightly brighter but in normal conditions i dont see anything.
so i think there is a good chance that you get one without strong bleeding.

+1 I haven't got that problem. Specially my 2X is one of those first batches.
My backside cover says lg-p999 on the inside, but my phone says lg-p990 anyone else noticed this?

Don't worry. The physical part of the P999 and P990 are exactly the same. The internal radio and a few little things, are different.

It's odd because the covers fitted to the P999 have an LG logo under the metal strip.
Mine says P999 too, but I'm happy because there's no LG logo on the back cover
I have P999. The other thing is quality, this plastic glass felt off. ;/

It's either:
1) google employee exclusive
2) a really good optical illusion
3) reflection from the light box

I'm pretty certain if it was white the face(? lol) would be white too, it's probably just a reflection. Although in my local Phone Shop they have a Nexus 4 wall and it advertises black and white.
I only like white versions if both the front and back are white. Hate the zebra look

Correct me if im wrong but the U.S (Blk) version of the Gnex was released in Dec 2011 and the (wht) version was released 2mon later Feb 2012 over seas ?? Thing is i bought my white GNexus from NEGRIEL ELECTRONICS for $600.00+ so even if they release a white one its going to cost almost double! so now theres 2 things u can do.. buy the black version and when/if the white comes out buy the 'back glass plate' separate and switch it oput buy unscrewing the screws on the bottom of the phone.. or just wait for the white version.
I believe theyll make a white version (see attached pix)

White version could be awesome
But its only the light reflecting....
Looks white to me (if you look near the top of the device in the still shot) - probably an international version like the Galaxy Nexus
I am not paying this price, but there is a white option.

I am wondering if £220 is the price that Google sell it to the CPW for... that price showed up in their system a few days ago (before the launch).
Seems crazy to up the price by more than £100, but people will pay it. It is still quite cheap compare to other phones, if you don't know what Google sell it for...
Did anybody had problem with dead pixels? I bought my phone 10 days ago and last friday i notice 4 pixel dots glowing blue. I dont know lg policy about this problem because i want to return my phone and get another one.

I got 2 dead pixels as well. But it is not noticeable unless you load a black screen. So LG refuses to repair nor replace my phone. Smh

Same like me...

I got 1 small RED DOT on mi LCD screen, i found it just turning on my O4XHD. It only appears when the screen in completely in a dark or black image. Very weird.
