[Q] Which widget consumes more battery - HTC Incredible S

i'm torn between using the built in clock widget from HTC (the famous big number with weather below) vs One More clock widget (a more simplistic version.
do you know which one consumes more battery?

to see what uses battery or not
on your home screen click the options button
click settings
scroll the bottom and select "about phone"
select "battery"
then "battery use"
then you can see what uses more battery
but to answer your question neither will use more than 1% of your battery!
Live wall papers can be huge battery hogs and use up to 4% (with high level animations)

Thanks for the reply mate

[Q]BatteryStatus in mA displayed in Manila?

Is here way to display battery drain in mA or mw within TF3D? On the home tab would be good or in the status bar. I can get BatteryStatus by ChiTai to display this info but only after disabling TF3D. On my kaiser I used to find the mA an excellent way to keep an eye on what was going on in the background with radios and data etc.
Because TF3D disables all other Today Plugins I don't tink it's possible at the moment.
Maybe it's a solution to install SecondToday from ChiTai too. You can use TF3D und Today Plugins like BatteryStatus side by side, easy to switch (TF3D <-> Today) and with Diamond like style.
Regards,
Purzel
Thanks Purzel I will give it a try. Shame they did not leave a spot within TF3D for plugins such as this to display.
I gave it a try as you suggested Purzel and the SecondToday and Battery Status combo worked. But really not ideal for me. I know there is already an application that shows % remaining overlaid on the status bar battery icon. What I have in mind is different.
Alternative status bar Battery Icon
Essentially the same Battery Icon that is there now with bars showing charge but with added feature of numerals showing mA drain. These numeral could either be overlayed on the icon or squeezed beneath it in tiny font.
The advantage of this arrangement is:
1) it would work with TF3D. This is because it would not be a today plugin. Simpy an alternative to the current battery icon on the Status bar.
2) Would enable user to always see charge remaining and current load.
I like the idea of always being able to see the load on my battery as often I have apps running in the background which are chewing through the battery. Conversely if the mA drain is low I know these apps cannot be running and all is good. Makes for an easy way to increase battery life.
I sent a message to ChiTai suggesting this as an idea for utility. However never heard anything back.
Essentially all the app would have to do is somehow ascertain current drain in mA and display it over the reaming battery bars on the icon. Nothing more. Be great if one of you clever programs could put this together. I reckon it would be popular.
Would any one else be interested in a replacement for the default status bar battery icon that worked like this?

best battery app?

I've tried a few battery apps for android to display battery power left in the task bar and I don't know which one is the best to use. Anyone have any suggestions?

The only one I have cared to use is Battery Status it's free. It use to have the actual number on the taskbar on its battery icon.. but that's gone now.. so that kinda sucks. But it's still easily accessible to me.
I am looking for others also, but this one is basic enough for me.
Battery Status - Free; will display the status in top toolbar and has a nice widget if needed aswell.

Temperature in status bar

Can somebody point me to an app that can display the temperature directly in the status bar? BatteryIndicator only shows the percentage and I have to unlock the phone and pull it down in order to see the temp. Is there an app I can use to display the battery temperature (or CPU temperature) directly in the status bar?
Battery Status Pro does this.
[Edit] just noticed you wanted it displayed in the status bar. Don't know of one. Sorry.
I just use battery life widget on my main home screen. It shows temp right there for you on your home screen.

I don't want a widget, I just want the temperature displayed in my status bar. If you know an app that does that, please let me know.

I've seen one around, but can't remember its name.
Anyway, there's one for sure, just keep searching.
There's an app called tempmonitor but it shows systems temp not battery.... I think
Ijust searched for it and it looks like they're having trouble with it if you have froyo

Try with BatteryTime Lite
I too seek this functionality.
BatteryTime Lite gives a charge percentage in the status bar, but does NOT offer the ability to display the temperature in the status bar. You can drag down from the status bar display and see the temperature, but that is just as inconvenient as having to go look at a widget.
So, we keep looking...
Respectfully, I would like to know why this is important to you.

I am learning about over clocking, and I am concerned about overheating by running the CPU too fast. So I wanted to watch the battery temperature while I did my normal phone activities.
It looks like temperature is something that must be polled, (rather than receiving as an event) so this sort of functionality, specifically within the status bar, may be unattractive for a developer, because the polling would be more of a drain on battery and CPU, than just posting the new status when the notification comes in.
use "TempMonitor lite". It gives you a small icon in the status bar with the temperature of your battery. It's what i use for it. Good luck

Thanks!
As soon as I figured out to set the display color to white, it worked like a champ.
(The black default was invisible, and appeared non-working.)
Did someone answer this question? Interesten in app like topic author!
Found one, use battery monitor widget with a skin showing battery temp from here:http://www.3c71.com/notifications/ccc71.bmw.icons.ttc1.apk

Can I get some explanation on 'battery status style management' at a loss for what this does

Set where you want the battery percentage in text - in the battery icon, outside the battery icon, none.
OK now I am officially stupid!

Battery percentage in notification bar

Is there any app available to see the battery percentage in notification bar like in samsung mobiles? i.e. percentage beside battery indicator.
I tried few simple apps displaying battery percentage in notification bar....but they always have a notification in notification slide..
Already tried:

I am using stock MM 6.0.1
Should be in Settings/Battery or in Settings/Display... I don't have MM but on KK it is Settings/Battery and on LP it is Settings/Display. Hopefully you can find it... It should be built into the system.

If you pull down notifications - quick settings, youl see a gear icon in top right corner. Press it and hold untill it starts to spin and that should unlock the UI Tuner - once it's unlocked you'll find it at the very bottom of settings menu. Go there and enable embedded battery percentage
Thanks. I'm already using embedded battery percentage enabled using system ui tuner. I'm expecting percentage no. Between network symbol and battery symbol as in Samsung TouchWiz. That means a separate no. Not the embedded one. I'm fine with top left in notification bar also.

there are some apps that show battery percentage when they run, like Power Toggles or GSAM Battery monitor. Cool Tool is also good and usefull, but it shows battery and other stuff using overlay, so you can move it all around the screen. And if you're rooted then GravityBox is the best option I know (requires Xposed)

under rated and under used feature! If you don't want extra apps cluttering your phone and want to keep your phone stock, this is your option

I've been using the third option and only puts the battery percentage inside the battery signal, and does not create a notification slide.
I'm on MM 6.0.1 stock on my Moto XPlay
