found another link
http://alex.leonard.ie/2011/05/11/requesting-a-google-music-beta-invite-outside-the-usa/
Thanks, but doesn't work for me. If I use MarketEnabler, I can finde the music app in the Market, but it refuses to install, claiming that it's invalidly signed.
If I download the apk from the link above, package installer terminates with a simple 'not installed' message.
Rooted Euro Tab on Swisscom, Switzerland.
Rapax, have you installed honeycomb music player before that? If yes - delete it..

I get the same thing here after upgrading to Gingerbread (Overcome) - I used MarketEnabler to download it from the Market; happily running under Overcome 1.6.x (Froyo) but after Gingerbread all it does is force close upon running.

Yeah Google Music crashes each time since the Gingerbread update... Overcome and Stock too
Here too
Euro tab GSM, running GB overcome 2.0 beta 2
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I pinned down the crashes to two reasons:
Obviously Samsung built our 2.3.3 on rather outdated code and modified some pieces of the mediaprovider...
Usually, the Stock-Music apk allows access to the MediaPlayBackService and Google temporarily revoked access in 2.3.3, so Samsung thought it would be a great opportunity to **** around with the existing code and Changed some things in the Stock MediaProvider-Service thingy
That's the major reason why the Google Music Beta crashes in 2.3.3 but works great in 2.2
So it is not a "Google Thing", it is a "Samsung Thing" and Samsung would have to fix that.. We all know that this won't be likely to happen, so there are two possibilities I see here... We fix it ourselves or someone clever ports the MediaProvider including access to the MediaPlayBackService from the current CyanogenMod 7.something builds to the Galaxy tab. I tried and failed as the modules crashed on boot and I had to reflash the whole system
Anyone interested in getting that done? I'd do it, but I've too little time at the moment to get it done properly :-/ it shouldn't be that hard anyways, I guess...
Someone needs to make this work. I have all my devices working beautifully with Google music without a problem except on my galaxy tab running overcome 2.0.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App

Have you tried deleting the application data and reboot then? :-/ I used the official market version btw. but that shouldn't make much difference... as I pulled it directly after the install from my tab.

If you follow the link in my post and register you end up downloading an installer apk that then downloads a sype apk but whenever I have tried installing the apk directly it fails. I could be wrong, but I believe you have to do it all from the installer app.
I just installed everything is good. Got one fc

yes it's the same for me on my nexus s under android 4.0.3 ics
i can't download french language on my nexus
it stays on download in waiting and never it download something
i suppose the problem is for people who never install swype and they made the update of their phone under 4.0.3 because i see on others forums that people who have installed swype before their update under ics swype works perfectly
got it working by uninstalling all Swype and re downloading the latest installer apk...the auto update just didn't work and actually drained battery while trying to auto update...

Just thought Id say... just got an update notification for swype on my Nexus S , running ICS..... downloading now.
Checked the website and looks like they support ICS now.
Apologies if its been reported already!
I've never had a problem with swype on ics.

shendu ROM

I have used almost all the custom ROMs..i think this rom is the best in terms of speed, and mostly the best battery life. i don't like its launcher and am using adw-ex. its working great.. But again it may depend on individual basis. you can give a try !

I can't the thread honestly... So I think it's good to have another thread on Shendu
does the ROM have any SODs/hangs? I really need a reliable and battery-efficient rom..
The problem with this ROM is they removed most of the CM settings, most importantly "scrolling cache". You can't disable it, scrolling stutters so much. It's a little faster than official though atleast in Antutu.
as for me..i haven't got sod...but there is fc sometimes but its very very rare. new update released yesterday!

If I'm not mistaken, the default KB is called "Shendu". use Titanium Backup to uninstall it. Or go to system/app and rename the .apk to .apk.bak. Then you can use the keyboard of your choice.
Tried long pressing in the text field and choosing from there? I had to do that with lewa os
just sayin...
Long pressing in the text field don't work. No keyboards selection.
I froze Shendu but still there was no SlideIt.
Tried keyboard manger app from market?
just sayin...
Here is mediafire link for those who like to try the latest update from shendu:

If it does not work the first time you may need to do a factory reset first.
All gapps versions need to be installed through cwm recovery tho.
