Hello XDA !
I want you to recomand me a ROM...CWM or Odin i don't care.
Specifications of what i want :
[*] Longer battery life
[*] Nice UI
[*] l33t
[*] Customizable
[*] Maybe MIUI,what version do you recomand me ?
THX
Try all of them and pick the best! Miui's battery life is not really good but I can personally recommend that. And if you choose miui just use the galnets latest version atm. 4.0 .
I can try all of them but if i wanted i would not posted this here.
Recomend me a ROM
Try MIUI and/or CM7 or if you want to use Samsung-based ROMs Juwe or Darky. I have been using CM7 for more than 2 months now and I won't change.
Sent from hell to take your soul
Ok now i'm booting Galnet MIUI and if this still suck my battery i'll install CM7

Remember to go through several charging cycles before you judge the battery life. And also try custom kernels
I personnaly use Ficeto JVP with Galaxian EE Kernel.
All is fine, i did not notice unworking stuffs and a whole night (around 10hours) on idle lose only 8% of the battery.

As I'm experiencing major battery drainage even after calibrating the battery on my i9000 using Darky 10.1 Extreme Edition (DarkCore 2.4, JVO baseband), I decided to go with MIUI 3.0.
I'm kinda a noob when it comes to flashing, so I have one question.
Is there any difference between flashing MIUI from the stock ROM and flashing from Darky 10.1EE.
I don't want to brick my device (yet ) so any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: I surf about 45mins on HSDPA, play games for 45mins, surf 45mins on WiFi, auto brightness. I expect the battery to last at least 20 hours.
If you want to flash Galnet MIUI V3 you have to follow the steps from this manual: http://www.galnet.co.uk/miui/MIUI-MANUAL.pdf
Yeah, I know, but does it matter that I'm flashing from Darky?
It doesen't matter because you will downgrade your rom via odin when you flash froyo from the manual. Just follow the exact steps and you will not encounter any problems.
Ok, thanks.

miui galnet v2.2 also have the problem of battery drain , and i don't kno if this problem solved in v3 or not ,
this bug is the most thing annoy me since i changed to GB and i tried many many roms but no hope
only JVP 2.3.4 seems fixed this problem
but Galnet is awesome , fast , look , attractive
If you want a high battery life yoh shozldn't choose MIUI or CM7.
But try Juwe's 5.0.

I have been tired of replacing ROMs over and over, lately I tried 4 different gingerbread ROMs, but I had various problems with them.
I'm looking for something, that have the stock look(or maybe sgs2 stock look), and never need to be changed/wiped. 2.3.3 or 2.3.4.
Please if anybody using a ROM for more than ~2 months, and have absolutely zero problems with it, let me know which one is it. I'm looking to get good battery life, and smooth operation even with live wallpapers, even after 200 application and widget installed, even after months.
Thank you everybody for any help
i can suggest u to go for simply honey roms.. its stable, fast and offers good battery life!! hope this helps!
What about stock JVQ?

Darky are stable, not the fastest but really stable, Darky Core 2.9 with Ficeto JVP Rom is a good choice for stability.
Flashed stock JVQ and Speedmod kernel, converted to ext4. It's quite quick, but the battery consumption is horrible...
I'm slowly giving up...
Does JVP has better battery drain?

+1 here! I had that rom for as long as i can remember. Stable fast-ish and the battery life is acceptable. I charge my phone every 1-2 days (depending on usage) using the OEM battery.
Darky 10.1 jvh ee
Go for it..
Darky 10.1.. its fast as hell..
Hi. I'm currently using MIUI rom.

OK i think it CM7 is out of the picture. I am on CM7 at the moment and I do like MIUI but it is very integrated and sensitive. Have you tried vandonkas kernel on miui? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427646 or check my thread for other alternatives http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1460147
CM7/KANG (by Temasek) is my last choice... and my best one (IMHO) - Battery life with custom Kernel "CherryPicks" (I didn't try the stock one) is very nice.
A well balanced performance/batterylife one, with all CM7 options, spare parts and so on...
Hope this helps (a bit )
Try MIUI or CM7 with Vadonka's kernel. Should give pretty good battery life
Thanks for the replies.
I'm using back swiftextreme kernel back because its more lag free.
Do you guys recommend me the v20o stock with horse power kernel? :B

I don't use Stock roms anymore, even wiith v20L/O, but read some posts and impressions seems pretty good. With HP Kernel you can expect good performance, but no sure about the BatteryLife...
and if you need continuous improvements/battery balance, the custom ROMs and Kernels will give more choice - in my humble experience...
The battery life is indeed excellent with spica's or fps kernels! Three days and even more have been reported. If you use the phone a lot spica's sr1 or sr2 is very good, and the the pre-12 seems to be even better.
The problem with the stock ROMs it's the slowly fluency a pair of days later.
MIUI with vadonka's kernels has a battery save impressive and with a great fluency all the time.
The people speak very well about spica's kernels, it can be a good choise.

this is a great ROM...with HP and either ICS or Swish...
infact the SR2 and the RC-11R both works great....i have 2days and 18hrs now and still left with 41% battery perf.....good work Carburano
can we use vandonkas or spica's or fps kernels with stock 20l ?

spica / fps = yes
vandonkas only if you want bootloop (CM only)
so with stock 20l or stock 20o which one do u suggest for stability no lags and good battery life.

Hi there,
I'm a proud owner of a galaxy ace and i found the vodafone stock rom too boring, slow, and the battery only lasts 1 day, so i've installed one 2.3.6 that i've found on sam firmwares website and it looks the same stock rom but i dont know why, the battery starts lasting 3-4 days |). However i was curious about cyanogenmod and i've installed the 7.2 nightly (last version), but the battery only lasts half a day-1 maximum, and i dont like the sms, phone and contacts app.
So i'm thinking about install the cyanogen 7.2 stable version or searching a new ROM, but as i dont know any other reliable, efficient, stable, without bugs and with a modern theme like ics. Can someone help me please?
PS: The ROM must have portuguese language support.
Thanks,
Best regards,

Thanks a lot for your help!!
I've decide that i've gonna try the radonmod 2.5 fat, and if i dont like i'll go to the cm7.2 stable and if the battery problem remains, i'll go for the vodafone 2.3.6 S5830XWKT6. I've a doubt. I've installed the last ROM once with odin, can i install it by cwm?
Stock firmwares with odin, this will be your baseband.
Custom with cwm, some require a specific baseband, which is mentioned in the rom's thread, otherwise any baseband will do.
search for stocklite it has gr8 battery backup
And CyanogenMod 7.2 Official also has a good battery life

Choose among these:
Stocklite V7 - latest Vesion - few bugs
Adrenaline Final - almost no more bugs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538245)
Myth V2
Only Stock based roms can help u with extended battery life.
hey guys ,, i have finished all my work on viperx but im having difficulties for finding a suitable kernel to use without getting big battery drain ,,please select wisely ONLY according to battery life
I just tried Noobys kernel apart from stock one, I sometimes get excelent battery life, using almost 5hours of wifi, like 48 hours, but some days i cant get through the day, I think is related to my installed apps..
I wish i had tried more kernels to help you decide which one to use in your ROM, because im actually using Nemesis 2, but happens that i find both (rom+kernel) very stable for everyday use, and want to keep it like that.

IMO, The most important thing to chose a kernel is first it should stable, then good battery life. For include in your ROM I suggest you use the kernel that stable for everyone. As you know, every device has it own limitation, how high it can handle the clock, how low it can handle the voltage.
Why?
Some user dont know what custom kernel is, and what the advantages and disadvantages if using custom kernel. Some user usually flash and use the ROM as it is. If they flash the ROM and the ROM doesnt stable for them, mostlikely they will say something like "The ROM is not stable, I got SOD" or "This ROM is sucks, often reboot by itself". Yes, they will blame the ROM, whereas actually it because their device cant handle the UV or OC kernel.
Also you can write suggestion to use custom kernel to gain more battery life/performance in your ROM's thread.
The users can easily to flash other kernel that they like after they flash the ROM.
Well, this is just my thought. The decisions is up to you
----------------
as for the poll, I choose ZGK v0.1-beta, coz:
- 200/500/700/1000/1100 (OC not too high so it save, 200 as min clock good battery in deep sleep)
- stock voltage (no SOD)
- stable for my old P970, and battery drain is good enough
