Fruit Cakes XDA Re-Releases.USAGE
Download and install the CWM zip for the factory ROM you wish for. What is this?
This ROMs are simple copies of the official Motorola SBF, but in CWM form. Installing a SBF is dangerous, it could hard brick your device. Using this CWM versions the worst you can get is a soft brick.RELEASES

To use this you need tenfars CWM so you have to be unlocked.

go sam go!

OK I am a little confused if I flash this I can't use any future ota or do I have to flash the ota with this? I use rsd alot
Atrix - gingerbread 2.3.4 rooted with XDA premium application.

you may or may not be able to use future OTA... but bottom line is RSD going forward can cause hard bricks so goal is to move toward flashing just through cwm or fastboot

abandon RSD, the only time you should ever RSD is when you UNlock your BL, after that never use it agin unless something requiewres it. if you ever want to go back to 183 or whatever, find the appropiate files here for CWM.

I would like to point out that right now sbf flashing back hard brick proble is only with the OTA people, but im sure more than likely the Release OTA will have a new BL and will cause this same issues all around. So CWM is the alternative moving forward!

is there any way to determine the BL has changed from the leaked build, i mean the partition sizes or something else?

Thanks Sam!

yes new bl is 8mgs old bl is 3

Samcripp,
Awesome idea! I was hoping someone would do this. I don't know why anyone would rsd back to any previous version once we finally have the bootloader unlocked. We can flash anything we want now without worrying about losing the unlock or a hard brick.
Thanks a lot!

Thanks sam, you have been very valuable to our community!

Fruit Cakes are the way of the future!

thanks i should have figured that out myself. no sleep in 70 hours spent most of today trying to get gingerbread on the atrix.

Nice job man. I was wondering why we are still bothering with RSD when we have Clockwork. I guess this signals the end of that crap. CW and Fruit Cakes FTW. Down with RSD!

Should I flash my phone or wait for ATT froyo?

So basically I have a couple questions before flashing my phone to Serendipity 4.3
1. If I flash can I ever go back to "real stock"?
2. Since froyo is not out for the captivate. I was wondering if the 2.2 roms were real froyo roms? (Like the Serendipity 4.3)
3. Since froyo is coming out soon, should I just wait for the ATT version of froyo?
4. If I do flash, can I get the ATT version of froyo? (when it comes out)
Thanks for reading

Yes of course, all you'll have to do is an update through kies once you flash back to stock when it comes out.

He's right.
I wouldn't wait for AT&T, it could be a long time before they release anything. Happy flashing!!

So true...
Waiting for AT&T Froyo is like waiting to win the lottery...
As the rest have said, FLASH AWAY! Once you start, you'll see how addictive it really is. Try them all. They all have thier own pro's and con's
I sucessfully flashed my phone! I love my phone now, geezes I dont know why i waited sooooo long.
Thanks every1!
Probably going to flash a custom ROM (phoenix 4.1) for the first time this weekend. I currently have the AT&T 2.2 beta flashed from a one-click, but have never gone through the whole process. I have a couple questions.
1. Is the phoenix install instructions on the first page of the discussion in the development section complete? I was browsing through the discussion and some folks said there were some apps missing, like the music player (not that I used the stock one).
2. there are patches listed and it doesn't really say how to apply them. any guidance? rather than page through 700+ pages, is there a summary on how?
3. is there a lagfix in the Phoenix ROM or is it needed for 2.2.1 ROMs at all?

Each rom is done to the Dev's way so yes some remove some apps that they deem junk. Like all the att crapware that is installed. All the fixes are clockwork flashable that I know of. Most were for older versions of the rom. IF you follow the directions in the FAQ you will be fine, Just make sure then after you flash back to stock that you can get into recovery and DL mode with the 3 button combos just in case something goes wrong
cool thanks. looking forward to it.

2.3 bootloaders

Just wondering is it possible to update to the new 2.3 update and then odin back to 2.1 and still have the 2.3 bootloaders?
PS the 2.1 odin contains no bootloaders, it was to my understanding you could just upgrade them and you would have them unless you changed the bootloaders.
See i want the gb bootloaders and if it messes up ide like to be able to take it to att and replace it.
Correct.....

See im running the same rom as you teamhacksungs ics and i wanted the gb bootloaders.
Yahh that is fine. Or you could Odin to 2.1 then flash the Bootloader only package and have GB bootloaders. Then it will reboot to recovery and you can flash away from there!
Yeah I could do that and if it does fail I could just blame it on there update tool that it messed up durring the process. Thanks!

Rooting and instaling Cm9 on a branded device.

Well i have 1 question about rooting my phone, since its branded to my carrier [Telenor] and i wonder if if could do my phone any harm to install custom kernels and ROMs on it because of its carrier lock?

carrier locked means you cant put another carriers sim card in and use it..Doesnt have any effect on what rom you run.
Ok thanks a lot. I just where a bit afraid a new ROM would ruin it because of its branding. Flashing here I come!

and dont forget many things arent working in cm9
Yeah im aware of that, and i can live with the current bugs. Cm9 is awesome so far, and the rooting and flashing went butter smooth! Really happy for being a first time flasher.

Will the LC1 Stock room get hacked soon you think? Root

I Dont know if i should wait for the LC1 To get rooted or downgrade and root and uppdate to LC1
I Only need "Root" (Super user)
DOnt wanna flash any other rooms.. wanna keep the stock..
But what i can see that i have to downgrade and root and then uppgrade again. Wich is a pain in the ass and i loose all data
Now a great way was this one
http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-note-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-gt-n7000method-1/
But this too works only with older versions!
So what do you guys think?
PS. its my work phone and dont wanna mess it upp.

The point isn't about rooting, it's about being able to do a proper search. If you can't search, you're not going to get your answer.
There are 2 distinct threads that contain the LC1. They are both pre-rooted. One is odexed. The other is deodexed. If you do a search, you will find them both. If you are smart, you will read the entire thread BEFORE you flash the ROM because there are instructions within the thread that tell you the exact steps to do and to avoid so that you don't wipe your data. I know, because I took the time to search for the threads, and read both threads ENTIRELY. I followed the directions and had a pre-rooted LC1 installed in only a few minutes. I didn't loose any data or apps. I was also a Noob to Samsung at the time.
If that sounds too hard for you, then you should leave your Note on the ROM it is on right now and wait for the OTA updates.

Thanks for all the help.
i end upp rooting with Bodivas pre rooted stock LC1..
Now i have 2 more questions wich i yet have no answer for wich are these,
1: If i Only root, and dont install a new kernel ...
Will i be able to make future fota uppdates ? from Samsung..And will the root still remain.
Im fr Sweden with LC1
2: If i Change the kernel to get CWM and get some kind of a Total backup! Since it seems that it cant be done by Titanium?!
Will i still be able to get new stock uppdates by kies? and will the Root still be there?
I was planing to install the kernel you rekomended
CF-Root-SGN_XX_OXA_LC1-v5.3-CWM5.zip
With mobile Odin.
So lets see what happens.. But damn with a rooted phone it feels nice to be able to controll every thing and skipp adss and anoying unwanted startups..
1. Yes, no
2. Yes, no
For future updates, get the update here @ xda and flash with mobile odin which will persist root. Updates show up here as fast as they are released.

Easiest is to download stock rom, root it with just root only method
Best practice backup efs, Google it I will not explain you need do this only once and save backup later to computer.
Backup with titanium pro, and perform backups on kies. All you need to do to keep your info.
No custom kernels and remain ota able, and ultimately when ICS comes you remain upgradeable as it will not come OTA but though Kies
-> hmm, I lost my ability to upgrade thought Kies. Even with stock ROM. So be carefull whichever way you go. You can always upgrade thought a stock firmware ROM, you just might loose upgradability thought Kies. Also note, upgrading throught Kies will remove root in I think all instances.

Good thing that most likely, ics will be ota to. Which I find odd but highly convenient. Contriary to my earlier statement I was wrong.
There is another thread I hope someone can answer if root remains after ICS update.

I think you have severely misunderstood the directions.
One does not simply flash a ICS ROM from any other version.
Why won't LG Flash tool work for you?

If it's asking for login, you have to do step 2 from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17177547&postcount=2
2.Extract "file.zip" and put "LGFlashTool.exe" to location where you installed "Setup_LGFlashTool_1.1.zip" (default: C:\LG\LGFlashTool\)
This replaces the orginal installed LGFlashTool with the special version from file.zip
Umm ...can you just upload the final file you used with cwm recovery?
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
It doesn't work like that. You CANNOT flash an ICS build from froyo or gingerbread. You MUST run the LG Flash tool following the steps provided in the other sections to the T. If you aren't very comfortable with doing this stuff yourself I would advise you to remain on Gingerbread. You will most likely end up with a bricked / worthless phone if something does go wrong and you don't know how to get it back. I the thrill development section you will find a very lengthy and discussed guide on upgrading. As I said though, this is at your own risk and there is no possible way for us to upload anything for you to flash. You connect your phone and flash ICS using the LG FLASH tool.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
wait....i was able to install 10 different zip updates....such as prometheus, thriller, etc. is there a way to get the ICS rar file like that?
No. That's what I'm saying. You can flash gingerbread ROMs on gingerbread all day long, but you cannot flash an ICS ROM while you are on gingerbread. Especially this phone. The ICS build is ported from the Korean model of this phone and has different partition sizes than a gingerbread/froyo ROM would need for the thrill. LG Flash tool is the only way to get ICS on this phone. You must first flash XBSALL's ICS build with LG Flash tool on your PC. From there you can root and install recovery and flash other custom ICS ROMs, but not until you first flash on your PC using the guides in the Optimus 3D Development forum.
The only reason I'm taking the time to re-explain this to you is to prevent you from flashing an ICS ROM and possibly bricking your phone. Its pretty buggy still and not something a novice user should attempt. I spent at least 3 1/2 hours in a panic trying to fix my phone after flashing ICS over with LG Flash tool exactly as I was supposed to. It doesn't "just work", you may have to work for it.
