[Q] Ringtone package? - HD7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone been able to offload the default ringtones (and/or SMS tones) on the US HD7? They're pretty neat and I would like to put them on some of my other phones.

wm5 ringtones, today themes

Just some minor niggles with WM5 left so far...
1) All wm5 ringtones seem to be .WAV, doesn't seem to support WMA any more. Does anyone have a fix / free software I can use to let me use WMA or MP3 or OGG or anything apart from WAV ?
2) Today themes - does anyone know how to make your own ? I see nothing to change them, it seems to have changed from 2003 ?
TIA
Loving WM5, so much more stable !
The only files that need to be WAV are incoming text alerts i think..
For ringtones.. copying MP3, WMA or any other supported format of Wmplayer into \Windows\Ringtones should show up in your ringtone selection.
ah - I was trying to use the "Add Ringtones" in the setup menu
what a dufus - thanks

MMF ringtone

My father has bought a Mio A701.
Many ringtone are in MMF format.
Exists a plugin to use them on the BA like system ringtone?
I think MMF ringtone playing should be hardware based. This is the format for Yamaha SMAF synthetizer used also in many Samsung phones and Siemens S55/SL55 for example. If you want to convert those ringtones do a search for PSM Player (version 5 or higher). You can also try using original Yamaha SMAF tools but I don't think they include ability to convert MMF file to something else.
Use a program called MP3 to Ringtone GOLd it supports conversions from MMF to wav or Mp3
viscocesco, don't waste your money on shareware programs to convert the files. Go here:

"Sounds & Notifications"

What i would like to know is...
1) Can you store the sound files you use for SMS & MMS etc in anothor place than the "windows" directory (ie SD card)? Is it a reg fix?
2) Obviously WM6 supports WAV and WMA for this feature, is there a way to support MP3?
Maybe both these can be fixed with a program?

PS Thanks in advance!

Two questions on ring tone

I have 2 questions:
1)I've note that for apply the ring tone for the calls, the format must be only mp3, instead for the notification the format must be only wav. Is there a program that resolve this problem? I would apply an mp3 file for the notification and a wav file for the ring tone. moreover when i choice vibrate and ring, the vibration work continuosly, in other cel the vibration work at regular interval. What i resolve this problem?
2)The volume of ring tone are very low, but i up his at max. Is there an registry or file hack for increase the volume?
Thanks for the attention
I would be intrested to know the answer to this also, it would be worth having the sound increased if possible. at the moment i am having to normalise the mp3 in a sound editing program before sending to the phone.

2) For ring tones, are you using mp3's that you ripped from another source?
If so, can you compare the volume of these mp3's to built-in ringtones, such as "Capri?"
I ask b/c I find the volume of my Tilt to be very satisfactory; In fact, when using Capri ringtone I usually turn it down a little b/c it is very loud.
Usually when I rip mp3's, though, they turn out at a much lower volume than the included ringtones and I use Audacity (a free audio editor) to bumb up the db of the mp3.
If there is a volume hack, it will likely be system wide which may have unwanted side effects.
Hope this helps some.

How do I change alarm music?

Can someone tell me step by step how can I use different music for alarm wake up because I can't find any setting to do this? Ane how can I change music for incoming calls? All I can change are preloaded musics from SE but I would like to use my own mp3s.
u must convert the mp3s in wav and put them in the right directory. Also you can use galarm where u can use mp3 files
Start > Settings > Sounds and Notifications >> Notifications (For incoming call etc).
(For custom ringtones for individuals, I just drop the mp3 ringtones into a folder called My Ringtones under my documents on the device, for a general one I think it just goes in the Windows directory).
If you know how to set an alarm, how do you not know how to change the alarm notification? Click on the alarm symbol and select the sound fle you want.
