Does anyone know where I can find a version that works with the x8...? I have tried a version from the official thread but it doesn't work with the phone, the keyboard won't load...
Thanks in advance.
Follow these steps:
1) Download GingerDX to your pc
2) Extract the zip file
3) Go to system/app in the extracted zip file
4) Find HTC IME MOD apk
5) Copy it to your phone's system/app
6) Set Permissions:
[v][v][o]
[v][o][o]
[v][o][o]
7) Reboot
8) Enable HTC IME MOD in keyboard settings
9) Find a text field and hold it and then change the default input to htc ime mod
10) Click Thanks if all goes well
NOTE: If this does not work you also need to copy Clicker.apk from GingerDX into your system/app and set permissions and reboot
Worked perfectly. +Thanks

When I activate it a message appears saying "Sorry, HTC_IME mod was suspended" (something like this...my phone is in portuguese...)!
Can you help me? (I'm using nAa's MiniCM 9)!
so i've made a flashable zip of the comfortaa font, but for some reason it puts the phone into a bootloop upon flashing.
anyone wanna check the files out and point out what the problem is? thanks,
Cole
Are you rooted? If so, just use Custom Android Font or Font Installer from the Market. You will then have over 150 fonts to choose from, including Comfortaa.

Post above this is probably a better and easier option, but looking at the zip, I'd pull out the DroidSansFallback, Clockopia, and DroidSansMono , then flash and see if u get the same results.
I haven't investigated fonts too much in ICS, but in previous builds (gingerbread), the flashable font zip really just needed to have DroidSans.ttf, DroidSans-Bold.ttf and Clockopia.ttf to replace your font.

any help is appreciated
i just tried to re-do it like 5 times in a row, took out the fonts mentioned, pulled a different updater script and update binary and still no luck :/
the steps i'm taking are,
1. build all the files in the correct folders
2. zip all the files compression method Store with winrar
3. put the files in my SignApk folder
4. sign the files
5. take the zip and install via recovery
then i just boot loop :/

You don't have to do all of that, unless you're just trying to do the script yourself as a challenge .
Find a working flash able font zip (check evo themes section), use 7zip to replace and remove fonts, and see if that works. If it does, then u can go script happy from there, knowing that those contents worked at least.

We can these two files and copy it to the / system / app with Explorer with access to the root.
Original files in this folder can be copied to the memory card as a backup.
Our new files we give permission rw-r-r
Reboot system.
Tested on Android 4.1.2
nice work, but why you not using flash able .zip for easy simple use...?
if you wanted, i can send you an empty flash able .zip here
This guide is easy. Everything runs smoothly. I checked this on my L7. It's look very cool.
what kind of errors? there's should be have a problem with binary file or script

Boot animations
CUSTOM BOOT ANIMATION
I will take requests and make personnel boot animations for you just let me know what device you have and what you want pics are always helpful!
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step #1
You'll need a proper root browser. JRummy's Root Browser is a good pick, but you can use an alternative, too
Step #2
Once installed, go to the root folder and navigate through system > media. Once there, locate your current bootanimation.zip file.
Step #3
Long-press your current bootanimation.zip file, and click copy, as we'll want to have a backup just in case. Install it wherever convenient for you, we chose the root folder
Step #4
assuming that you already have a bootanimation.zip file that you want to replace your current animation with. Load it onto your phone (we had it in /sdcard/DCIM/), locate it, and again long-press it. Click move...
*Step #5
Once your new bootanimation.zip has been selected for moving, navigate back to system > media and paste it there. You'll have to overwrite your current animation zip, but that's fine since you have a backup in case something goes wrong. Go for it....
6.
For many of you, the previous step will be the last step. But, if for any reason you're still stuck with you old animation, you can try aligning the permissions of your newly-copied bootanimation.zip file with the permissions in the system/media folder. In our case, those were rwxr-xr-x. Just long-press your new bootanimation.zip file and click Permissions and change them until they fit. The logic behind these abbreviations goes like this: Owner - Group - Other. Read for 'r', Write for 'w', and Execute for 'x'. Save the changes and restart...
