Hi, I have i9000 with stock XXJPU rom, rooted, its stock Swype has my language (Polish) but with phonetic letters , which limits my SMS size (as those letters count as more than 1 character over GSM network).
I'd like to replace it /use it along with some special versions of Swype (with only 2 languages + Polish without phonetic letters)
Swype is located in system\app\ and consists of both .apk and .odex file.
I tried:
1. Installing custom .apk = it would ask me if I want to upgrade Swype, if proceed- "Could not install" or sth similar.
2. Replacing stock .apk in system\apps\ with custom .apk and deleting .odex = Swype FC
Ideally I would like to use both versions of Swype, so here comes the question(s):
1. Is there a way to modify a custom Swype .apk so that the system treats it as just another IME to use along with stock Swype ?
2. If 1. is impossible- then how can I replace stock Swype with a custom one (I guess there is a problem with that .odex file ...)
You can delete swype apk+odex from system/app and libswype.so from system/lib ... Restart your device and install any version of swype you want.

Hello guys,
I tryed to flash an alternative camera flash ROM to solve the videocamera shutter problem, but it just screwed up the camera and now i canĀ“t use it. Any onde knows where to find the original camera flash to install?
Simply redownload your rom, if it's stock redownload the stock one, if it's a custom rom just redownload it! Then extract or simply open the zip file, go in system/app, and look for camera.apk, copy it to your sd... Then with root explorer copy the camera.apk in /system/app folder of your 2x , and set permissions to rw-r--r--, reboot and it should be ok as it was before!

For if the ROM is zipped, and explore it in system / app -> and select and extract it.
If it is a nandroid in system.extx.tar / apps and now you extract,
PS. My English is bad, I hope that was what you wanted

There is no way to extract it to a flashable zip, directly but maybe take app backup and restore, it will save it somewhere ob your sd card. Then download zeus flashable keyboard, open it with 7zip, delete the keyboard app in there and add the one you backed up. After close the 7zip and sign the zip file with any signer. Flash the file and be happy or just copy it into the running system (system/app), look at the permissions of the other files (of course you need a root explorer) and set it to your new keyboard as well. Reboot and then just choose it and everything should be fine hope it helps
Sent from my LG-P970 using XDA

Hi all..
Yesterday i installed KingDroid ICS NoteMania Edition 1.6 full rom. But running the setup guide after install, i noticed the keyboard is broken. I read the whole post, (all 99 posts) to try and troubleshoot. There were two others, who had the same problem, and wrote a possible solution.
"I used the T9DB folder in system/ from another rom with working nordic keyboard and just replaced it in the rom before flashing."
So i tried unzip the rom, download a custom rom i knew had a functional nordic keyboard. Then i copied the T9DB folder, from the other custom rom, and replaced it with the one in KingDroid. Afterwards compressed the folder to .zip file again, and moved the file to my SD card and rebooted to CMW. Now heres my problem.
When trying to install the zip file, i get an "install aborted"
What am i doing wrong?
