INCREDIBLE S sense 3.0? - HTC Incredible S

Is there a way to get all the features of the 3.0 sense into my phone via ROM?
I have searched other places...some of them dont work on my phone. I am starting to think that there are alot of partial 3.0 roms out there
Am I right?
I seen a Youtube video where someone had pretty much ALL the features. I tried looking for it but cant find it.
Is there such thing?

Just install Virtuous Unity. It's a custom ROM ported directly from Sensation so with full Sense 3.0 features. Very fast and bug free.

please take some time out and read through these forums before you venture installing custom roms.
your statement above obviously shows you have not read much and this could damage your phone and/or the patience of certain members here
am sure you'll have all the answers you need if you do look around

You can also use revolution HD with sense 3.0 add-ons - most 3.0 improvements are there. For truly 3.0 experience, however, Virtuous Unity rom is better.

Help me pleae
ClockworkMod recovery wont let me in my recovery settings. In fact the second I go to it from ROM manager the screen goes black and then takes me to my HTC screen and just stays there.
Pressing the down volume button and the power button gives me the recovery option, but will do the same exact thing.
I cant even go back to factory settings.
I went to go flash this rom when it happened, I probably did it wrong but would like to just restore my origional phone/settings and just forget about this whole
flashing rom idea.
PLEASE help me. How do I get to my restore so I can go back to my old settings???

Use the latest 4EXTRecovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104765
ClockWork does not allow latest ROM flashing

Thanks , got it figured out. Finally

Ohh thats why I wasnt able to flash it.. I found that out the hard way until someone told me about 4EXT. It worked like a charm

[Q] BEST ROM with working FLASH PLAYER on cdma hero

Hey guys I'm a noob and sprint decided to give me a hero do to my defective noment I took it over the intercept because of the support here on XDA and I've been lookin around and I like but my question remains what's the best rom for the cdma hero that will still allow the flasplayer to work any ideas or ways to keep makin it work. Unfortunately, full flash support can not be achieved. There's a light version out there, but I don't know how well it works.

I believe Nfinite's Roms have Flash Lite, and then using a browser like Skyfire gives additional flash support as it deals with it server side.
Use Nfinites rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849024 there and then do a search for Zen's Any Kernal with no Perflock. It makes it an extremely snappy Sense Rom. Only Sense has the Flash working, none of the AOSP roms do I believe.
Only downside is Nfinite is on Hiatus due to some personal stuff but he has popped back in and said he isn't gone, just dealing with it and plans to update again soon.
my replyo
ok thanx so fo example even I port the flash light apk (htc flash player) can I at least use that on the aosp rom or the cm 6 or does they need the sense to even aollow it to work ? I just want to be ready to root asap when the hero arrives tomorow
You cannot use those functions in an AOSP rom, has to be with sense.
Ok one last thing before I do this once I get my recovery going and I'm rooted of course I do a data wipe then apply a zip (rom) file correct and if I want to try other roms repeat the proscces. Right just want to make sure. That's how I would do it on my moment

Yes you would go to recovery, do a factory reset, wipe Dalvik, Cache, etc and then you can flash the new zip for the rom you wish to try.
Most roms will have a sort of guide or instructions, some have things specific to the rom being flashed, so make sure and read the full post, and maybe browse the thread for tidbits that users have had to say about the rom.

Sense 3.0 stuff on IS

Thanks. I cant get it to work though.
Flashed the lockscreen and weather app with CWM. Killed my phone. Just startet looping at the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen.
No problem to fix and go back off course but still...
Can anyone tell me how to get it to work?
I tried flashing CoreDroid. It looks very nice and have many of the things i want. But i want it in the stock ROM.
Anyone can give my a kind of idiot guide to emplement some 3.0 stuff in my IS?
Me too, I'm new to customising Android. I have done iphones and psp in the past but the information is not clear on this topic and seems to be all over the place and spread accross many topics.
I currenty have flashed the standard virgin Rom to debrand my IS and I have made it s-off and its now rooted with clockwork mod recovery installed. I would like to install some Denver 3 stuff to the standard Rom but being a noob I'm reluctant to try with out a better understanding.
Could someone please give us noobs a straight forward guide in doing this.
Cheers

why don't you try the Virtuous Unity 1.25.0 Sense 3.0 based on Pyramid?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1122805
It works very well for people who like sense!
Yeah just downloaded it and about to give it a shot. I hope I dont screw up my phone. Never done this before.
I just figured it would be easier to add the stuff to an existing rom rather than flash a complete custom one.
Cheers
Pat
I personaly don't like the Sense 3.0 to much animation which gets kind of boaring after some time and sucks performance and battery!
Just my oppinion
well, with a Nabdroid Backup you should ot be worried to try a new ROM as you can always go back!
I tried the first relase of the Cyanogen ROM and that's the one for me so far.
I already liked the stock ROM on the Nexus S - but not the device itself.
So the Cyanogen ist very close - but better!
Is it easy to do? the instructions seem simple enough. I have made a back up of my existing rom, so if something goes wrong I can re flash my original rom and be back to square 1 correct.
Correct - it is a full image.
You go back exactly to the point where you created the recovery.
I love this feature - it makes it possible to try out a different ROM without loosing all the work you did on the ROM.
Last thing before I do it. It says to do a full wipe? Is this done in the recovery menu? do I do wipe data/factory reset as well as wipe cache partition?
Or is this a different thing all together?
Cheers
PAt
A wipe data/factory reset is sufficient. People will say do it three times, but you only have to do it once.

I was thinking, Apparently the incredible s comes with all of Australias maps pre installed. Now that I have flashed this rom, would I have lost these and if so is there a way to get these onto my system
Cheers
Pat
Im really just after the lock screen and the weather widget. The other stuff imnot fussed about.
The resolution on the unity rom is a bit funny. It all functions great tho.
I tried the android revolution HD and that worked except for the market wouldnt download.
Is there a way to just flash the lock screen and widgets to a stock un modified virgin au ROM?
Cheers
Pat
Would HIGHLY recommend this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088498
There's nothing different to the Stock Rom apart from the fact it runs alot more smoothly.
You then install this:-
•HTC Sense 3.0 "All in 1" (version 0.3) for Android Revolution HD 1.0.x
And voila - Sense 3.0
Thats the one I had and the market didnt work, formated and flashed it 3 times.
hello guys! im also a newbie here(esp in android) but i also want to S-off my incredible S, i know that there are already several topics regarding s-off but honestly i dont know how to perfom it and im really afraid to brick my phone, can you please help me guys! any help will be greatly appreciated! thanks : )

Kudos to you for being interested in rooting :good:
Shiromaru already answered the question here but why would you choose to remain on STOCK??? In the Android Development Thread of the HTC Incredible S, we have a TON of ROMs for use. They can be ICS with Sense 3.6. There can be AOSP or AOKP ICS. Theres Sense 4.X with ICS. Theres AOSP Jellybean 4.1.1 to 4.2.2. Theres really a lot to try. If you want to keep the (****y (excuse my language)) Sense 3.6 then u can try ARHD which is very stable. Theres also Blackout ROM and Incredible Bliss. If you want Sense 4.X you can try Nik_Project_X_Rebirth or Sabsa Prime. All of these ROMs have been modified to improve youre over all experience on the phone. I really would suggest you flash a custom ROM.

Rooting via htcdev will not give you s_off. That means every time you install a custom Rom you have manually flash the boot image using a utility called fastboot. And you can't change radios either. However for an initial root experience go right ahead with htcdev method and once you are comfortable you may follow guides in how to downgrade and then get root and soff using the revolutionary method. You may then also want to change your bootloader.
If you are going to root your phone then it makes no sense (pun intended) to remain with stock Rom. And as listed here in earlier post there are a plethora of roms to choose from.
Welcome to the joys of the android world.

[Q] Query regarding ROOTING

Basic info about my device:
Model : HTC Incredible S
Android Version : 4.0.4
HTC sense version : 3.6
Software number : 4.12.720.1
I have started to feel that my phone is getting slow and I read about the benefits of rooting. So, I am planning to root my device. While going through the online tutorials, I came to know that once I root it, I won't get updates from HTC and there are also some risks of ending up with a bricked phone. Some posts said that after the recent android update, the old methods of rooting won't work.
Can someone please post a link or method of rooting my device in easiest way possible? I'd also like to know whether android version/looks will remain same after rooting? As per posts, I won't be able to get HTC updates. What are my options of staying updated in case my device supports new android versions? I kinda like the UI of my phone. Is it possible to root my phone without altering anything else?
Detailed answers would be better.

There won't be any more updates from HTC that's for sure. I mean I once read that HTC plans on stopping the One X after 4.2.2. I think HTC was already extremely generous to give us 4.0.4. Besides, Sense 3.6 is the crappy version of Sense 4 anyways and Sense 4 looks nicer in almost every aspect in my opinion.
Rooting is as basic unlocking the bootloader via HTCdev.com and flashing a custom recovery. However, you will notice that some people have something called S-OFF. Unlike just unlocking the bootloader (which still leaves S-ON), S-OFF grants you permission to certain parts of a particular partition (which I don't seem to remember but what I say here should be enough) and in that way, you do not need to flash the boot.img within each custom ROM (which is probably, the biggest limitation of leaving your phone at S-ON). This is quite a bit to swallow but you'll understand more as you go along rooting and flashing custom ROM plus a bit of Google searching on the side.
As for guides, look at the top of the General Section (you're in it right now!) and everything that's labelled [GUIDE] should be good to use.
To answer the last question, yes it is possible to root the phone and leaving everything as is although there is absolutely no point in doing so. Unlocking the bootloader WILL WIPE your phone clean (ie game data, sms, call logs.....). It would be best to just start fresh. If you are so intent on staying on Sense 3.6, then I would recommend you to either Android Revolution HD or Blackout ROM which you can find more information on in the Android Development section.

Depends on what you're looking for really. CyanVivo10.1 is Android 4.2.2. Id say I'm only using CyanVivo10.1 for the sole purpose of having a theme engine plus theres always more free RAM on AOSP ROMs which Id like since multitasking its pretty essential to me.
However in terms of battery and overall performance Id have to ViperVivo is best. Nik Project_X_Rebirth is also a very good choice but the lock screen ticks me off -.- My favourite Sense ROM is either Blackout or KingCobra although the latter has had reports of not booting past the splash screen for a number of people.

okay, after reading your statement, I have to tell you a thing, rooting out HTC IncS which running on Android 4.0.4+Sense 3.6 is impossible (guys, correct me if I'm wrong) If you want to root it, you have to downgrade it back to Android 2.3.5, which is a VERY troublesome thing.. here's a guide might help you understand something about rooting our HTC IncS! >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987687

rooting and S-OFF are not the same thing. Rooting is just unlock bootloader and flash custom recovery. That is certainly possible on any android OS. S-OFF on the other hand, you need to downgrade back to 2.3.3 (in order to get HBOOT 1.13) and then run revolutionary to get S-OFF

Sorry, but it is possible to gain root access on the HTC ICS/Sense 3.6 ROM without the downgrading option that you referenced.
Unlocking the bootloader using the procedure at HTCDEV.com will allow you to install a custom recovery such as CWM or 4EXT and then you can flash SuperSu which will allow apps to request root access. With a custom recovery in place, a user can also flash a custom ROM, but the drawback is that /boot partition is mounted R/O in recovery mode, so you manually have to flash the boot.img of the custom ROM in FASTBOOT USB mode.
Gaining S-OFF is another form of 'unlocking' the bootloader and giving you full access to all of the partitions as well as the radio. S-OFF by itself does not necessarily provide your apps with root access. That is dependent on the ROM that is installed.

CyanVIVO 10.1 is amazingly fast and smooth. Although, don't expect the same battery life as sense, as cm is not optimized for or phone.
If you want sense, Nik Rebirth is pretty good.

Uh no, the download link is still there. Nevertheless its still a great ROM with virtually no bugs so the only thing you could be improving is battery life and performance and if you still want more then you would be very greedy to do so because it already performs well in both.

Nup your argument doesn't work cause VilleC2 (One S with snapdragon s3) has JB Sense
It has the exact same chipset as the Sensation but runs at a higher clock. Its got a linux 3.4 kernel with JB Sense from HTC so it definitely supports it.

CyanVIVO 10.1 is amazingly fast and smooth. Although, don't expect the same battery life as sense, as cm is not optimized for or phone.
If you want sense, Nik Rebirth is pretty good.
I personally hate sense as it is ugly, but it has its benefits such as battery life and more widgets.
Don't go for ViperVIVO because
a) The download link has been removed
b) And even if you do find the link somehow, Team Venom have officially stopped supporting or device, so don't expect any updates soon.

I know that, but I still use the ROM, most customizable and Full sense :3

Uh no, the download link is still there. Nevertheless its still a great ROM with virtually no bugs so the only thing you could be improving is battery life and performance and if you still want more then you would be very greedy to do so because it already performs well in both.

I see the links are still up. But I said that there are not going to be updates, which apart from improvements, include new features. Don't get too defensive bro

[q] best rom for sensation xl?

Hello everyone, my name is Manuel and I'm Italian (so excuse my bad english)
I am an unhappy owner of a HTC Sensation XL, unhappy because since I bought it, it's really never worked, despite having been in reparation for 4-5 times.
I have two questions then:
What is today, the most stable, lighter and faster ROM for this smartphone?
I had ICS 4.0.3 with Sense 3.6 and it worked decently, then I have flashed the recovery (TWRP before CWM after, because TWRP would not turn off) and I installed 4.0.3 no sense v1.1, Pac-Man,Tik-Tak and RunnyKitKat v17, with none of them worked properly, especially, poor pictures, frequent crashes and wifi that does not function.
My second question is:
If I wanted to restore the original OS that is ICS 4.0.3, is it possible? He was the one that worked best.
Where could I find my ICS ROM STOCK?
P.S.: Of course, for best ROM, I mean I need lighter but that it works everything we need, without having great things because I know that it has very limited hardware.
Thank You
"Best ROM" threads are not allowed in XDA as it tends to start a series of opinion-based rants. The advice is always to try ROMs for yourself as only you can determine what is "good" or "bad" and so on...
However, in the interests of allowing others to help, I'll leave this open. If it deteriorates, then it will be closed.
Thanks
I think you should check sticky thread in android development are.
RUU word suggest htc ROM which are original.
Download, relock your phone, start fastboot, and easily install downloaded specific RUU.
Device will restart and done.

I hace used multiple ROMs but finally i uses runny kitkat with blinkfeed and xposed framework module.
I didnt found any bug till today(approx 2month use)
I think it will be helpful.

Btw i dont have s-off, same as you, s-off is not necessory..
Download XLmultitool kit and do as screen shows , ( s-off)
Other option for s-off is farjadb software for it.
And runny kitkat does not have any remarkable bug yet. And wifi issue is/was/will be not there.. So feel free and enjoy it.
For xposed module, search for xpised in xda, and download gravity box and you will get even more customization which is provided in ROM inbuilt.
More advanced Sensation XL u will get.

Press Thanks if you like it.
to be honest theres issues with all roms for this device,
with sense there was issues with bluetooth and audio
with aosp there was various nuances, i tried my best to fix what i could.
not any one person will have the same opinion on this matter as it depends per person.
runy kitkat when i stopped building it was pretty much stable,
there is no tik-tak rom im aware of though...
