Hi!
First, what is class 2 and class 6? Which is the best 2 or 6 in this case?
And which one of these two is the best:
Nokia MU 43 8 Gb MicroSDHC-11
or
Transcend microSDHC 8GB (Class 2) (TS8GUSDHC2)
- Class 2 specifikation - Support för Error Correcting Code (ECC)
Class mainly refers to read/write speed of the SD Card, the better the class the faster will be the data transfer speed but be careful with class 6 or class 8 cards on higher end memory like 8GB, 16GB or 32GB that has more tendency to give error. Class 4 is your best bet.

Hi! And thanks!
I did go with the:
Kingston Micro SDHC Kort (TransFlash) - 8GB...
Kingston kort (TransFlash) - 8GB Class 4 - inkl. adapter. - SDHC kompatibel - Read-/write hastighet 58x (8,8 MB / s) / 45X (6,5 MB / s)
Hope this is better than the one i had, did not know about classes at all.
if you are installing and running thing of the SD always go for the higher class card.
I have a class 6, 16GB SanDisk which I have had since they
were first available.
I have had no problems with it from day 1.

I cannot find a 16gb sandisk class 6 anywhere. I can't even find a class 6 microsd sandisk period. Where did you find it?

Sorry, it is a Transcend 16GB Class 6.
The Sandisk 16GB in other phone is a class 2.
I just bought a kingston 32gb class 6 micro sdhc but when ever i put it in my hd2 it just freezes up and as soon as I remove the card it works fine again. At first i though that it was a fake so I:
1)performed multiple tests,
2)reformated a 1000 times,
3)even putting 20gb of data just to make sure.
Turns out that it is authentic and it works perfectly on my girlfriend's htc BalckStone it also worked when I installed NAND (which i later removed due to insufficient memory).Ive been searching for days, I think its a windows mobile issue, any tips??
you formatted it 1000 times ?
btw i use a class 4 8gb and no problem except it sometime cannot boot android, i dunno if its the sd problem or android problem
I am inbetween these two cards. One is a Kingston 16GB Kingston class 4, while the other is a 32GB Sandisk class 2. The only thing I'm concerned about is the speeds on the 32GB Sandisk SD Card, how do you think it will compare with the Kingston?

Real world performance... most won't notice any difference in speed. Go with the 32 GB, as the extra storage can be extremely handy.
I use the 32gb with an Incredible, speed is fine.
I compared 3 cards. Sandisk 16GB class 2, Transcend 16GB class 6, Sandisk 16GB class 4.
The Sandisk 16GB class 2 actually out performed the other 2 cards in write speed. The Sandisk class 4 had a slightly higher read speed than the class two but just not enough to justify the price difference, so I went with the Sandisk class 2 cause it's an all round performer and it's cheaper than the other 2.
I got mine for $27.00 locally
I got the 32g from Verizon. It's a class two, but all the Sd Card "Benchmark Apps" rate it as a class 4 for what its worth. Definitely the 32g...Way handy!
Thanks for all the responses guys. I guess I'll definitely be going with the 32 GB one then!!

Look on new egg you can get 32 gb for about 70$$ there, it's where I got mine
Sent from my HTC Incredible
I got the Kingston 32 gb Class 2 on ebay for $49 free shipping. You may want to look there.
Get one of these two Microsd cards if possible
I have found this card at newegg class 10. 16gb, even got a review for the htc incredible that was not bad, but the person did say that it only read it as a class 6. Was only $28. its sold out as of right now, but when it comes back you should probably get one. Im hoping this company makes a 32gb version.
but if you want a known name brand then I would go with Patriot 16gb class 10 microsd which happens to be also out of stock but goes for $38. Probably just the price difference on name brand, but you never know. both are unfortunately sold out. means they are hot right now.
Hi guys,
I'm getting a new sdcard for my phone, but I'm not exactly sure what class should I get. Is class 4 enough or should I get at least class 6?
I'm worried about full HD videos recording.
Any tips appreciated
Im going to get 16gb class 6

Equipped with Team MicroSDHC 16GB Class 6.
I've got a 16GB class 4 and am happy with it.
In my opinion, the prices of cards class 6+ are too high for the extra transfer speed they offer.
tnx for the tips
16gig class 6 = 20$ off ebay.
And yes its a real class 6 as I have tested its speed

I have 64GB class 6 i believe.

I'm using Lexar 16gb class 6, worth the price, the performance is near a class 10 microsd.

In my sensation, on a class 4 8GB card, i got 13 MBps full Hd recording and on same card but LG 2X, i get 18~19 Mbps fullHd video
I don't think class matters that much....
By the way i use internal SD storage for camera and later transfer to extrnal SD

I've read that class 10 is actually slower at reading small files than class 4
You can see a lot of data (real world data) here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjPE3ZAD2eVudE9vZmQ3aHlfTkFvU2J4ZUplRDJQTEE#gid=0
taken from this thread
So if you're going boot from SD for example I would get a class 4
If you are planning on transferring a lot of movies/music/photo's or recording video's in high resolution onto the SD, I would recommend a class 10
But best of all: do some research and pick a card that excels in both, e.g.
SanDisk Mobile Ultra 32GB Micro SDHC Flash Card Model SDSDQY-032G-A11A
Samsung Class 10 MB-MSBGA/EU

I have one Samsung 32gb class 10 (MB-MSBGA) and i'm quite satisfied with it.
It costed 32€ (1€/Gb is really a nice price ) and it's fast
Antutu Bench 2.7 gives me writes of 17-18MB/s and reads of around 20-22 MB/s (these scores with only 4gb free in the sd card (full of music and hd vids))
I use Kingston 8G class 4.
In regular use it has enough speed.
I have a ridata 32GB class10.
Really happy with it too.
My rule is to get class 6 and up. But that's me because I tend to play around with my phone and may come a time where I need to boot from it. As of now, the class 10 helps with loading apps (I hope). Since I have CM7 and it's using the external card as the default sd mount.
team 16gb class 10 forever
i think class 6 is good and the performance is good too. I never heard any of my friends got problem with it
I'm using VERICO 16GB class 10, very good performance!
I had to decide between Class 6 and Class 10 for my P990, but since the Class 10 just had a small additional charge I picked this one.
Samsung Class 10 for 18-19€ (Germany)
I have been searching all over the place for a list of "supported" SD micro flash memory for installing and booting for example CyanogenMods CM7. I have found where people recommend not getting slower than a class 6 but not which brand works best. I am using a Patriot 4GB LX Class 10 and it seems to be doing ok but wanted to know what others were using and what kind of luck they are having.
I'm having good luck with a 4G Sandisk class 4.
Lots of discussion here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1005633
I will add that none of my Patriot SD cards regardless of the class worked consistently or smoothly. After having a ton of weird lock ups and delays (with FC's) I bought a 2GB Sandisk Class 4 and the same exact builds worked fast and like a dream. I then bought a Sandisk 16GB and it too worked perfectly.
Half of my problems were fighting SD card performance issues. There are likely others that are good but it appears the Sandisk Class 4 are a solid starting point.
Agree with Awats
After having problems with Patriot and Kingston I have had rock solid results with SanDisk 2, 4, 8, and 16 GB all class 4. I've tried a couple of off-brand 32 GB class 10 with uniformlly lousy results. Of course YMMV.

I have had zero issue running Phiremod 6.2 off my 16GB Sandisk Class 4 sd (with Dalingren's 4/24 kernel, set at 1200). It has been fast and stable for more than a week. I can't wait for the new kernel that fixed the sleep/battery drain issue.
I bought a Sandisk 16gb Class 2 that works flawlessly with Honeycomb. Only $24.99 at Radioshack right now...if you hurry!
I am using a Transcend 8 gig TS8GUSD C6 with no problems . I think its almost snappier than off of the stock eMMC

How does that Sandisk test out? I have an 8G Sandisk class 2 that tests out as better than class 10 in SD card tools. Not sure if SD card tools is actually testing right. I'd be interested to see how yours tests out.
Just some real world observations that my sandisk cards perform much better than rated, about a class higher I think. I've got an adata and a patriot (class 6 16GB) that haven't given me any issues so far, but I'll never buy another kingston (poor performance, bad cards)

Drat. Last week it was the 8GB class 4 for $14.99. Ah, well - technology rewards the patient...as long as you have infinite patience. *laughs*

Radio Shack has ALL of the SanDisk cards on sale until 5/14.
I'm running a Transcend Class 6 8GB MicroSD in mine and so far it's been running great. Noticeable difference over the class 4 sandisk I had in there before.

If you're running CM7 off that Transcend, I'd be interested to know if Pulse works without FCs or other issues on yours. I ditched the Transcend Class 6 8G for a Sandisk Class 4 8G.

Which app are you using to test the speed?
Sandisk, 8 GB, class 4 here. The Sandisk class 4 is the way to go, IMHO.
I am using a Transcend Class 6 8GB, running fine. Will buy a Sandisk 16GB to try out.

this.
i've tested many cards with zone bench on the mac. class 4 sandisk outperforms all the others on random read/write of small files. it also coincides with how well my sd card installs run. some cards would run ok but now and again i'd have problems, especially multiple downloads running at the same time from market. I don't have this problem with the class 4 sandisks
for honeycomb: A-Data 4GB class 6 (writes at 6MB/s, reads at about 10MB/s, got it for ~$14, cheapest 4gig class 6 around these parts)
Quite noticeably better than my previous class 2 8gb samsung I got off eBay, which I now use for storage of videos/books & cwm flashing.
I have been using Sandisk 16GB Class 4 for a while now, and I need to increase my storage (32GB)
I am confused between these two cards:
Samsung 32GB Class 10 for 1599 INR (29.43 USD)
Sandisk 32GB Class 4 for 1216 INR (22.38 USD)
Which one should I go for ?
If your not looking for fast write speeds or using as a "swapped" internal memory, just go for the class 4, never pay more than you need for memory cards, they date to fast.
I thought greater speed (class10) would be nice,
I was just wondering if samsung is good against sandisk or not ?
Also does samsung cards work with WP7 ?
i am using samsung class 6
16gb
and it works flawlessly for wp7 and native sd (android)

Why not go for the 64GB cards that are available now? They are selling for around $50 (for a SanDisk class 10 even) and they work great in an HD2. See my posts about this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33028241&postcount=9 Basically the same post here as well, but I added a bit more info http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33102891#post33102891 You can never have too much storage space.
Be careful with class 10 cards as for phone memory use they are not the best.
Good quality class 4 or 6 is best all round card with better sequential speeds that are more in line with phone usage thus better performers & cheaper/easier sourced plus less prone to issues/compatibility ...
i use sandisk
I bought the Samsung 32GB Class 10. It is really fast. I'm using Android via NAND and you can improve your smartphon experience by upgrading your system with this card a lot.
I use a 16GB class 10 Sandisk micro sd
I use SanDisk Ultra microSDHC UHS-1 8GB card.
Worked very well with JellyTime NativeSD ROM and now with WP7 ROM 8858. So cheap and lightning fast. I recommend it for everyone, great memory card!
I use 32 GB Class10 Transcend Extrem Speed (Ultimate), this card has a very well performance with WP7 and NativeSD.

Second place in random speed (4k R/W)!
Which is important for WP7, NativeSD or Nandroid with A2SD, DataOnExt, ect.
