Help! Ubuntu Linux HTC Touch Pro 2 HTCFlasher SPL JumpSPL

So,
I am trying to flash a custom ROM to my Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 using Ubuntu Linux 9.10 Karmic Koala.
There is a utility called slightly-dated Linux utility called HTCFlasher
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=399762
that has been reported to work in the HTC Diamond, and I feel it will work on the HTC Touch Pro 2. However, there is no Linux utility to HardSPL the phone and reach the tri-color bootloader screen.
I have tried to execute SSPL-Manual-RhodiumV1_10.zip from the Rhodium SPL sticky thread
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550131
and I installed to the root directory of my phone, however it doesn't seem to function on my phone (spinning wheel, and no black screen).
Is there a JumpSPL or similar program I can load into the phones memory that will work on a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 (Rhodium400)?
NOTE: I did successfully bring the phone to a black screen using VirtualBox (non-OSE) and executing RhodiumW-HardSPL_V1_10R3.exe on a Windows XP Guest OS. However, the ActiveSync loses connection and the VirtualBox fails to attach the USB device identified as "HTC Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" I gave up after playing with Virtualbox USB filters, fstab, etc...
Can anyone provide me with a working Manual-SPL that I can execute from the phone?
Or has anyone managed to HardSPL this phone without using a Windows Computer?
try with program which calls WINE on linux, it can run windowses programs in exe format and run the RUU of windows not linux
Quickest way will be bringing it to your work/coworker/friend and do it here
The phone must be Activesync-ed in order to run the HardSPL.exe, WINE doesn't seem to be an option.
Not using a Windows comp is the goal here.
Any Linux gurus out there?

I'm halfway decent with Linux and I wouldn't even attempt this. The phrase "asking for trouble" springs to mind
You only have to HardSPL once, after that you can flash ROMs using Linux just put the ROM on the SD card and flash that way.

Yeah, that's how I see it too. I'm all for FOSS, but sometimes Windows has its place. I'd rather use Windows to HardSPL once than brick my phone forever.
I solved the problem by getting a Pre-hacked phone

CAN YOU COOK A ROM WITH WINMO 6.5 (Sense 2.5) AND ANDROID 2.1 (HTC Sense)

Can you a ROM like that and use Gen.Y.DualBoot to choose OS ?

Yeah, if you want to do it on your own, you have to install Gen.Y.DualBoot (Don't start it while phone is on or the program will crash and won't work stable). But I don't think that ROM developers will make a special ROM for you.
Success.
you can do that without having to cook it, just install gen-y, put linux on the phone and reboot.
it may happen in the future when linux is fully working on the xperia but then one OS may have to be running off the card , or you would have to compress the two OS in the rom to fit it on the phone, but doesnt gen-y runs under windows? so linux would have to boot windows off memory and then you may have less ram or a slower OS.
but by then there would be a better way to do this.

Hey Paul,
with the teclast you havent any recovery to flash with. You have to do it with the intel manufacturing tools with windows. As an example you can flash mireks rom without repartitioning your teclast.
I got windows 10 and mireks rom v5.0 on mine (hg8n). Works very well
Here do you get some good explanations how to flash your teclast -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/x98-air/general/tecknights-teclast-tutorials-t3201191 (Thanks to @tecknight)
In his bio you got some links to good custom roms. I like mireks v5.0 the most at the moment.

X98 Plus is there a way to use SDreader

Hello,
Recently buyed this tablet. It has dualboot android & windows 10 latest update.
SDreader is not working in both OS.
I think bios is V3.0 ?
Is there any way to use the built reader? I prefer Windows but prefer to have the dualboot option. (Is it even working in single boot ?)
Thanks
PS: I read a lot's of threads. Can't find clear answer.
Tried updating bios and old unsigned driver method nothing works.
