Maybe try to flash with ODIN one 2.3.4 ? I get no battery drain with this one
Hi guys,
I met the same problem on my GT-I9000, please see the attach configuration:
GT-I9000
Firmware version: 2.2.3
Basedband version: I9000XXJVK
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9000XXJVK-CL75655
[email protected]#2
Build number: lidroid-sgs-2.3.4
I charged the cellphone in the evening and played for a while, the battery was left 60% and I fell asleep and turned the cellphone into a flight mode.
4 o'clock in the morning, i was woke up by the low battery notification, only 10% left, what is going on?
Thats a known bug! try to flash 2.3.4!
Try Juice defender
My Galaxy S, after having installed 2.3.3, had the same battery problem.
Waiting for 2.3.4 (expected 3. Q 2011) I installed Juice defender 3.5.6 (free version) and now I have a big improvement in battery capacity !
After switching to "fly modus" in the night I have in the morning the same charge as one day before.
Please try and let me know
Thanx franco, but i tried that too, n i cant keep my fone in flight mode at night, coz i get calls all d tym...... If u can , plz tell me abt wat CMW/CMV is? i hav no idea abt it, n dont even know how to get it. reply apprreciated.
PLz HelP!!!

Thanx for ur advice, but i dont know how to do dat. i mean how do i "flash"(wats flash?) odin into it.hod do i get odin n 2.3.4?
This will help
I too had this problem after upgrading to GB...
After searching thoroughly on internet i found that it is a bug in 2.3.3
The solution(temporary) to this problem is that after playing games on ur Galaxy S just turn off and turn on ur device(reboot)..
And do this before sleeping at night.. this will bring back normal usage of ur battery( which is actually better in Gingerbread).
If u don't know much about flashing(like me) just stick to this method till samsung gives an official update. ( i read 2.3.4 is going to be released in this quarter).
hope this solves ur problem(it surely has solved mine)!!!
I also experienced same problem in 2.3.3. Solved now after flashing Ficeto's Jvp rom. you can search for the rom by googling Ficeto's Jvp or darky rom website. Detailed and simple procedure for flashing is also described there.
one thing more i forgot to mention, always flash/ update with 100% battery to avoid battery calibration issue.
Battery draining depend in the kernel too, try semaphore or galaxian then uv it you will be happy with your battery.

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S with Froyo and i updated it via Kies to 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
The problem is that the battery life is really bad and i want to update it to 2.3.4,or 2.3.5,or back to froyo if that's possible.
I just want by phone battery to last longer. Android OS and Android System are using very much battery power.
I'm a big noob when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Can anybody help me with a step by step tutorial?

This is quite normal in the beginning after you upgraded the firmware. How long ago did you do the upgarde? Have you tried to calibrate the battery? You'll find some instruction how to accomplish the calibration in this forum.
I updated several days ago...How do i calibrate my battery?

Thank you for having patience with me,but i don't know how to do this
6. Boot into recovery and reset battery stats (or, go to console and type “su” enter, followed by “rm /data/system/batterystats.bin”)
My phone is not rooted, and i have no ideea how to do it.

lol i really like my new upgrade of 2.3.3, doesn't consume too much bettery lifespan than when it was froyo. but i want to make it 2.3.4 so that i will be able to have baldoz rom legend v6.1 or the simply honey 5.1 revenge. but if they work on 2.3.5 JVS, i will,

To calibrate your battery, you need root.
I used Chainfire's CF-Root kernel - please check his thread to find the right kernel for your ROM.
When rooted, you do not have to reset battery stats manually.
I am using the Battery Calibration app from Market.
It is very easy, but it needs root access to the job for you.
i tried to root using odin 1.30 and when i hit start it says All threads completed (succes 0/failed0) and it stays that way.
Can someone give me a link with a new version of odin?
This will surely help you if you have root access.

Btw battery life on 2.3.3 is indeed very bad thats why 2.3.4 was created. So you may want to consider updating to 2.3.4 or 2.3.5.
hit thankxx if i helped. sent from my mind through telepathy (ya its possible)!

The battery drain is quite a big problem in 2.3.3, but it occurs more rarely in 2.3.4 and 2.3.5. However, in terms of battery life, 2.2.1 is still the best.

i agree still running jpy 2.2.1 with speedmod kernel.. get 3 days battery life..
to downgrade you will need a full 2.2.1 firmware.. flash jpu as it has all boot loaders then you can reflash jpy..
hi ,
i have sgs from some months ago ,
before like 1 month ago , i update my phone from android 2.1 to 2.3
then i start have problem in my battry it is dont stay more than 12 hr ( if i dont use the phone ! )
i was think it maybe from my battry so i bought new one but same problem
i flash my phone back to 2.2 , but still have same problem for now
so what best thing i can do it for fix this problem ?
and im using offical rom from samsung not custom rom
hope i find answer , thx
I suggest you first to make a full wipe.
If you want to stay with original Samsung ROM that's the only way, or turn off wifi, data and google synch.
I think the best solution for you is to switch from stock Gingerbread to CM7 for example (just because ISC 4.0.3 is still in beta...)
Hope this help.
Cheers
Which Gingebread Version you had on your Phone? 2.3.3 has the Batterydrain Bug!
So maybe you had 2.3.3 on your phone. What Version you get with Kies now?
Actually, don't flash a custom rom (it'll void your warranty) and take to to samsung service, your phone may be faulty since that shouldn't happen.
yes i was using 2.3.3
but i went back to 2.2 now
but still have same problem
and idk what to do
Hello everybody,
I just got my SGNote 2 days back after having used the S2 for last 1 year.. To be honest sgs2 is by far the BEST phone i have used till date and maybe the note can surpass its experience but currently i am little disappointed due to lack of knowledge about proper fw and modems for the note..
my pda and csc currently after buying from shop here in china is:zsLA2 and phone:XXLA4.. btw i got my sgs2 here in china as well so please avoid comments such as i faced last year sayn china quality bad and... it was true 5 years back but gotta see to believe where this country is heading towards so please no childish remarks such as get new phone or in other country..btw phone is manufactured in vietnam if thats a little consolidation my sgs2 was made in china and not 1 day did it give me problem expect random reboots but that was ONLY due to software..
I am satisfied with the brilliant screen and smoothness of the phone on touchwiz but very unhappy about battery life..i wont blame the phone but only GB since i had similar issues on some firmwares with sgs2 as well.. but check this. my phone was full charge and on flight mode overnight and when i checkd after leaving 12 hrs idle till morning it drained to 45%.. thats jus wtf statistics since phone was untouched and drained half battery.. huh? :s
anyways if any fellow note users have faced similar problems before can you please show some support and ideas to fix this issue..
btw currently i cannot atm upgrade to ICS since i m here in china for holidays till next 2 weeks and cannot download files from mediafire and such since all blocked by great firewall but as soon as i get back to college in kl id upgrade to ICS just like my SGS2.. I just loved the upgrade on sgs2! can you believe my battery life increased from 26hrs to 38+ with similar use.. its amazing really and i am hoping to get similar performance from this note as well since i want to use this device for a year till i think about sgs3 when price goes down
CHEERS mates and any comments and suggestions very much appreciated
Some app must be causing your phone to stay awake, check the battery usage chart for confirmation.
My phone drains hardly 3 or maybe 5 % tops at night. ofcourse the data and wifi are turned off when I sleep
Here is the battery usage stats to confirm my weird battery behavior..
Btw why cant i upload my screenshot directly which is in png format..wouldnt let me saying wrong extention. Had to take pic and upload that instead.. Not as convenient but oh well

You could just rename the extension as .jpg and upload.
regarding your problem, there is something that is keeping your phone awake constantly, could be that you have turned the sync on.
Just install better battery stats and CPU spy. These will help you know what is causing the issue.
Also turn off auto sync and/or any live wall papers that try and access internet intially to check if your battery is OK.
all the best!
that's what i thought also but il tell you the exact % usage maybe..
Display:47%
phone idle:13%
remaining 6 other things all around 5%.. doesnt seem anything wrong by the looks of it.. and when i click display it says time on only 1hr.. 1 hr should not consume 47% ryt??
btw thanks rijo and anil for fast replies.. i got cpu spy and its showing 61% at 200mhz and 29% deep sleep.. my auto sycn has been off as well since before but not background data that shouldn't matter m guessing..
Use better battery stats and badass battery monitor and identify the sucker!
By the look of your screen shot, it seems battery is dropping too fast even in deep sleep. Strange.

True. Why dont you do a factory wipe and clear dalvik cache.
What is your config by the way? Are you rooted?

sorry buddy haven't begun the process of rooting yet since i only had the phone 2 days and its very hard to download the files uploaded here from hotfile and such since its all blocked here in china..
i did do a factory reset in the shop before getting because there was some chinese fw on it before and i asked to put the latest eu one they had which was
PDA:ZSLA2
PHONE:XXLA4
CSC:ZSLA2
i found a nice forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025
there are some odexed rooted and repacked files here and luckily there is one with torrent link which i can download
3*Files Wipe N7000XXLC1_N7000OXALC1 Open Europe (02/03/2012)
if you want No-wipe version, not flash "GT-N7000-MULTI-CSC-OXALC1.tar"- this will format your data

i contacted the dev if i can directly flash this using odin from pc as recommend by him on top of my LA4 without having to downgrade to KJ like chainfire recommends since i cannot find torrent for that file from CF
hopefully if dev gives affirmation then i plan to flash the odexed LC1 from odin then flash the I9220-N7000 LP1 ICS REPACK by chainfire to get ics running on my phone like s2 i had.. really miss it!
btw, can anyone provide me apk for mobile odin please since its not available in google play in china currently.. much appreciate all the help
You can definately flash that pre-rooted rom with Odin without any problems. I've done the same thing when I got my phone and have been flashing different roms since.
Eventually I wanted to check out ICS so I flashed the LP1 Repack and tried a couple of roms. At the moment I'm running Stunner 1.4.19 and that's definately one of the best roms I've ever used.
After you flash the pre-rooted rom you could try a Market fix to be able to download more apps in the store and get Mobile Odin.
As an alternative you could flash the Repack with pc Odin but that will increase the binary counter and void your warranty. The counter can be reset if you have a so called JIG which is basically just a USB connector with a resistor. Just look in the development section for more info.

thanks buddy will give the pre rooted rom a go in the morning currently engaged with rm-bm match.. intense! btw do i need to flash the cf kernel for the same fw after flashing the rom? or the pre root got cwm and su already? thanks a bunch atleast i feel safe to proceed once i collect all the files in morning.. have a good day y'all
The pre-rooted kernels don't come with CWM recovery, only SU, so you should either install it yourself or just flash a kernel with recovery, cf kernel will do just fine. Then flash the repack with Mobile Odin and then flash any ICS rom you want with recovery.

Are u sure you are serious?? you've been on XDA less than 3 months and you seem like one of the many people here who just post for the sake of posting something to increase their post count without giving any contribution to the discussion..
I have been around here for sometime and I do think I can read the model no of my phones either from the BOX and from the About Phone: Model no... and how i know you didn't even bother to read the previous posts is because in post 3 sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA is in the signature if you actually read about my issues and the helpful comments of the other members who genuinely understood my problem and suggested many possible solutions..
I apologize for being rude to you but you should not underestimate or demean the members here just because even now you have an android phone like others and feel you understand it all..no one does that's why this is such a humble and friendly community.. Cheers

my current battery life is 5 hrs using heavy net and 10 hrs standby

Battery Life is based on over clocking, wife, brightness. So if you want a rom search for stable roms such as cyanoegenmod 7 for mini.

3. This happend today morning ,
I charged my cell 100% at 1,30 am and then net off .and at 5.30 am it was 46%
i checked cpu spy and it was in deep sleep for just 12% remaining time it was running..
IN background, cyanogen mod stats , settings , astro , media server are constantly running
