OK guys, short question, is it possible with root to get the stock android lockscreen?
It's part of the ROM, so no. However, you can install a lockscreen app, such as Widgetlocker a,nd customize your lockscreen as you please. You can just use a stock Froyo or Gingerbread theme if you want.
ok but i ask that because with my old phone (desire hd) you can delete the sense lockscreen and then you have the stock android lockscreen, is that with OB not possible...?
I don't think so, there is no stock lock screen in the rom, Since LG has put their own in. Like I said you can download widgetlocker and replace the lock screen with your own stock style lock screen, like I have done:
This is my LG OB lock screen:

how have you changed the icons at the top (battery, signal)?
This is perhaps a different rom?
Thank you

I rooted the phone, installed Clockwork Mod, booted into recovery, wiped data, cleared the cache, flashed the Nova ROM, restarted the phone, flashed the custom kernal, restarted the phone, then flashed the gingerbread framework theme. You can find the theme in the Themes and Alps section
Just asking, can you use clockworkmod to make backups using Nova ROM?
Because when I did so, it said error mounting /system

Do you need Nova ROM in order to get the gingerbread framework theme?

First of all thank you for reading this.
I've flashed Darky's ROM v6.0, it was working great. Then flashed this theme, it was still great, moreover even better.
Then I had the idea, what if I make the transparent background of the dialer a little bit darker so I extracted the DialerTabActivity.apk from Darky's ROM, changed the corresponding PNG, saved the new apk with TotalCommander and replaced the original DialerTabActivity.apk in the phone with RootExplorer. It was all right, it was working fine after reboot as well.
Then I had a greater idea, at least it seemed to be a great idea at that time What if I replace the gradient status bar background with a plain black background... I've done everything the same way with the framework-res.apk, yet after restart basically everything force closed. Tried to reflash the theme but it didn't help.
I was wondering what have I done wrong.
1) Why did it work with the dialer the first time and what went wrong with the framework-res.apk?
2) What is the correct way to do these modifications?
Thank you for all your help.
The method was fine. Both modified apks work after ROM reinstall.
Mods attached below.
Dark Transparent theme mod: Full black status bar
Based on XXJPX Dark Transparent 1.7 +AOSP +9patched images +No menu-button unlock +Extended menu +Circle battery mod
Download
Install:
Make sure that no custom wallpaper is set from the Gallery, use a stock wallpaper instead for now. At least this caused me problems first.
Flash it with CWM recovery
Works great on Darky's JPX ROM v6.0

i don't have balls to try it, because my gingerbread is working awesome and looks georgeous. but the circle mod status bar will fit perfect in my theme... who ever will test it, will get a "thanks" (if it is enough).
by the way: very useful thread!!!

have you managed it and how? do you have any errors after that? thx in advance.
i'm one step closer now: i tried to extract the framework-res.apk by adb, (re)place the old battery icons by the new ones with winrar (as a lot of tutorials say on google), gave the framework-res.apk the permission 644 and adb it back to phone. i don't get errors, but the icon is stuck 80%... just when i plugin usb, it changes to charging icon (but this is stuck, too - no animation!)
can anybody try this please? i would like to know if it's related to my build (mdj gingerbread 2.2) or if i made some mistakes?! editing stat_sys_battery.xml should not be necessary, since i just replaced a few icons, right? thx in advance for suggestions.

I think i might be the right place as it involves CWM
it's not an app after all when it need CWM (Flashing )
Here are some Miui Goodies for now you guys.
Download Miui Launcher Apk Here
If you prefer ADW Miui Theme,
Download ADW Miui Launcher Here
Download Ex Dialer Apk Here
Download Miui Music Here
Download Miui Gallery Here
Download Miui Camera Here
Download Miui Lockscreen Here
For those that do not have a AOSP lockscreen, you can try this MIUI lockscreen
1st Install :: MagicLocker APK
and then Install:: MIUI Lockscreen
Don't ask me why I haven't put ALL these into one Zip to help make a Miui Rom for the D3. Im still learning and having trouble porting it but this should get your mouths wet a little bit until the real thing.
Enjoy.

Are we installing this via an app installer or via custom recovery?
They are all going to be via app installer except the miui lockscreen. That's going to be flashed through recovery . I had no problems but make a backup.

To be honest, I haven't even tried it on a non-cm7 rom. but im assuming it will only work on a AOSP lockscreen! But make a backup if you do try. But it is a beauty
Just tried it on stock 5.7.894 and it did nothing. I guess you do need AOSP for it to work. :/
OP updated with another MIUI Lockscreen option!
Gonna try to flash the lockscreen over Liberty, it has CM7 bits and pieces and AOSP Lockscreen.
Edit: Lol, it kinda worked. It changed the icons on my sliders, but I still have my AOSP screen. I'll have to look at the update file and see where it's putting what.
I like libertys lockscreen. Only thing I'm trying to change is the text formatting and positioning.

no i removed it
Awesome thanks
can this only be flashed to the safe partition or could you use like cwm to flash it as the main rom?
my thinking is if you temp rooted to get recovery installed, booted straight into recovery,
flashed the rom with qe removed you would not have to worry about being caught by qe.
It should be flashed to the safe system. After all, the whole idea of using a safe system is to keep the original intact in case you need to take the phone back.
can I get a live link with this?
none of the links above are
working.
I am stuck at the SIM required screen. I edited build.prop to read keyguard.no_require_sim = false and indeed i get a lock screen but when i get out of it i get the welcome.. screen and though i added ro.setupwizard.enable_bypass=1 I can't get out of the screen. Tried Droid4HD lite too, same.
I do a little mod, for this people what dont like moto_blur, icons in system now look like below
to do this you must change your Settings.apk (in system/app/ folder ) with this from link
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zvcdnnbbn2sbxg8/Settings.apk
dont forgot about promissions
I am running a rooted stock ROM (Golden - Jellybean 4.1.2), Nova Launcher Prime 2.2.3, WidgetLocker 2.4.2, various Xposed modules and XTheme (Alpha Blue Touchwiz).
I've noticed that when I receive a call I get two blue blocks as the picture below shows:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I've uninstalled the modules and theme and the blocks are still there. Reinstalling the modules and theme makes no difference either.
I'm still able to answer/reject calls with swiping, it's just that the blocks are an annoyance.
Has anyone had this problem and can it be solved without doing anything too radical (I'll live with it if I have too)?

You don't need to live with it. Make a nandroid backup, then flash your rom again, to see if the problem remain.
