Hi all, i recently bought an htc hd 2 used, and i have the following problems with the wired stero headset - earphones included in the box, ill describe what they do and what they wont do, as the previous owner informed me the hands free where almost unused, that means they are like new, and believe me they look like new.
The htc hands free do:
sound will come out of the speakers when i play music
as an antenna for the radio player
The htc hands free wont do:
the mic wont work when im on the phone, i only can hear they canot hear me
and finaly the controls play / pause / next / previous / answer call buttons wont work
I hope you can help me with this problem.
OS: 5.2.21869
manila version: 2.5.19211619
rom version: 18/11/09
radio version: 2.05.51.05_2
Exactly the same issue started cropping up a few weeks ago- strange as it worked perfectly for 5 months.
Hi rieuwa if i find some time i will try to replace the rom with another to see if the problem persists, i dont think is a hardware problem, as i said the earphones are barely used, i think that there might be a software problem.
rieuwa, did you try to restore the rom ?
Hi telas, I actually went in to three phone shops today, until I found one that had a spare HD2 wired headset with buttons to test.
Sure enough, in my case it's the headset that is broken. It worked fine with his headset. Currently with mine I can play music just fine, but the three buttons just don't work.
So I'm just about to start a support call... 'Dear HTC...'
I'm wondering if some sort of short in the plug isn't also causing my other problem whereby occasionally with the headset plugged in, my volume controls on the phone suddenly change into next track/previous track, with no way to get out of that other than a soft reset or turning off the phone (and the HD2 isn't the fastest booter....)
Good luck with yours!
Hi there and thanks, actually my case gets more and more weird, my roommate just bought today an htc hd 2 himself, i asked him if the hands free work he said yes, i said lets test YOUR handsfree on my device, after we pluged it in we pressed the buttons and music played the controls all ok, i said lets plug MY handsfree on your device to see if my handsfree are broken or not, and guess ? THEY DID WORK!
Then we pluged in HIS handsfree on MY device to see if they work and they worked, then we tested mine again on my device and they didnt and now the grant finale, i asked him minutes ago to test his handfree on my device again to double check anddddddddddddddddd THEY DIDNT WORK!!!
Facts:
My hands free work just fine, on other devices
Hands free from other hd 2 devices work fine on my device
Hands free from other hd 2 devices will work for one time only
WTF?
I have same problem headphones buttons not working and when call connected i can hear, but caller not (also i cannot answer with headphone button). After installed 3.14 stock rom headphones buttons problem was random and just after moons using buttons not working every time. So i hear need to delete BsB Tweaks or just disable some options, i try but no luck. I decide to back to my first Htc Hd2 stock rom 1.66, with this rom when i buy Hd2 headphones buttons works fine and just several times i have problem with starting music with button. But what, when i install 1.66 stock rom and try headphones - buttons not working, WTF?
Sorry for my very bad english, but are you guys have any ideas about this problem?
Hey and im having the same problem too, headphones used to wrok perfectly, in my 1.66 rom, upgraded to 3.14 and the problems started, during this time, in a Cyanogen Mod build of android i checked a setting that said "use buttons on headset" so i could control my music in android, and well after reverting back to a 1.66 rom....headset play forward and backwards buttons wont work but music will play through the headset.
I Highly doubt android could be the culprit, and the roms are only software, so maybe its a hardware issue, even though ive used my headset very carfully...im going to try with another set of htc headphones and see if i can find a solution...very wierd.
I recently got my new Renault Scenic car and discovered a rather strange situation.
The phone pairs with the carkit and connects the first time without issues and works like a charm.
But however when I start the car and thus also the carkit the phone connects also but no audio is heared trough the carkit when calling or getting called. The phone says it transfers the connection to the carkit but nothing is heared.
It only works when I have bluetooth off, starts the car and then turning bluetooth on the phone on. Wait till it connects and make a call. With this procedure the connection is good till I step out the car.
Its a work around but hmmm not the one i would love to.
I have a nexus one rooted with the latest MCR (21) and an intersect kernel. Though I tried different kernels also but no go.
Hopefully one of you guys have an idea
Ok I searched a bit and found out the Bluetooth is done with the opensource code Bluez. So I wonder which version of Bluez is in the froyo roms and how it can be updated if possible to a new version.
Anyone knows ?
I feel your pain, I have a Renault Grand Scenic III (purchased last December) and the hands-free is unreliable, but music streaming (A2DP) is even worse as most often than not it will fail to connect.
I have to say that the hands-free works fine most of the times (for the phone part, not for music), but some days it will refuse to work no matter what. Since it isn't working much better with my wife's Nokia (BTW, which I had to do a firmware update or else it went into a permanent reboot loop when connected to the car-kit), I assume the problem lies on the car, not on the phone. I have yet to see if my Hero, which has been recently updated to Android 2.1, behaves any better. A firmware update on the Bluetooth car-kit seems a better approach, but I'm unaware if one exists since after some digging it seems my car doesn't use the OEM Parrot kit that other earlier models carried.

Hi,
I've just come across your post. Did the situation improve ?
I'd just point out that for me it comes from the Android system : I own a Renault Mégane 3 and was able to fully use the bluetooth system with my HTC HD2 (Windows Mobile 6.5). Now, I've just installed Android 2.2 on it and I encounter a similar behavior... and the car can't connect to the phone directory either...
Looks like I'll boot back on Windows Mobile when driving...
Regards,
Stéphane
My Hero with the official 2.1 ROM is now 100% reliable. The Nexus One with Froyo isn't, A2DP is still hit & miss.
Well... I'm getting the same but not with Renault ones.
I have LiquidAUX on my car and to have both phone and a2dp synced, I have to restart phone BT and LiquidAUX every time I go into car. And most of the times I can only have 1 connection each time, or phone is on and a2dp is off or a2dp is on and phone is off. It's really annoying since I had an HTC Hero with Android 2.2 and it used to work with no problems...
Hello, I've the same issue with my new Renault and Nexus LG. The phone pairs with the carkit and connects the first time without issues and works like fine. Once someone calls, the connection is terrible or lost! I checked the phone compatibility list at Reanoult and the NEXUS LG is on that list. So it should work. Updated R-link2, same issue. I went to the Renault garage and they told me that this is a bug in the Renault software, they can't do anything about it. Can't believe this, there should be a solution or fix.
Hi guys,
I am having problems with car BlueTooth hands free and Samsung Galaxy S:
With Eclair 2.1 it was working flawlesly, connected automaticlay after paired, I could make phonecals, receive phonecals, no quality issue, phonebook worked fine etc... The only problem was that once I did not swithced the BT on my SGS before starting to drive, for some security reasons the car was not searching for phones while driving, so I had to turn the BT in car off and on again and then it connected well. But overal problem free...
With latest 2.2 Froyo (i9000xfjp7) and also previous Froyo distributions (i tried JPA if I remember correctly), the phone can be paired, it connects to the car but after one phonecall it looses connection and works no more. The strange thing is, the BT icon on the phone shows brackets (like when connected) and also the car shows the phone is still connected. But phonecalls cannot be made via car HF and also cannot be received through it. Only by manualy accepting or dialing on the phone. And naturally the sound goes only via the phone, no HF.
The strange thing is, when I turn off the car and leave it, the phone says it is still connected to it, which is impossible.
Any ideas?
Thank you!

That is weird... When I switch back to Eclair, it works OK, back to Froyo, no HF after one phonecall...
I dont know how to work with ROMs, I managed to find out how to flash firmwares, I even handled many problems with Odin and its moods, incomplete flashes, etc... But I dont know how to use these custom ROMs...
Anyway, i would appreciate if someone told me how to resolve it without custom ROMs, as I plan to use offical Froyo when it becomes available, but with this issue, it is useless for me, as I travel a lot...
No one else?
I'm having a related problem.
I'm getting music stream cut outs (1 sec max) when streaming bluetooth to caraudio WHILE wifi on.
If i disable wifi, bluetoothaudio works fine. I know they share range bt/wifi, but this is unacceptable. They should negotiate. Everytime wifi scans, i get cutouts. Unusable. Only workaround is disabling wifi (and thats annoying because i have to be constantly activating/disabling it everytime i enter somewhere with wifi etc.
Using Docrom xxjpo v8 with voodoo.
Anyone has some software fix that makes wifi behave better when bluetooth musictream on?
My N1's a year old, and recently it's developed an issue where A2DP stereo headsets stutter profusely with any sort of music, even when I'm right next to the device.
My headset and car audio pair fine with both my N1 and my Desire, but the N1 stutters like hell even in close range, whereas the Desire works freely throughout a room or the car.
I'm using CM7 and even switched to CM6 to test after numerous people reported it's a new BT stack in 2.3.3 that's causing the issue, but the problem still thrives.
Any suggestions on what to do?
Even flashed back to a stock EPE54B unrooted image. Same problem.
Radio issues, perhaps?
Well, I bought a MW600 BT headset last year for my Vivaz (SE).
(No quality I have wanted because of A2DP is not well developed for music)
After a half of year, I get my Galaxy Tab P1000 (at that moment it was official 2.2.1 )and tried to play music w/ it. But in result, a really really bad quality I have been gotten.
Well, then, I left it alone for a long while until the official 2.3.3 was released but however the result was still bad.
Unfortunately, the result in every custom rom / kernel is still getting wrong w/ it.
So far, I put it under my bed and leave alone forever.
Hi
i use the same BT Headset with the galaxytab and winmo65 for some months now. I have good sound quality with both devices. Some gtab roms have better a2dp, some older gave me disconnects every few seconds.
But the latest boca and cm9 roms works fine for me.

In fact I have forgone listening via bluetooth.
It is really poor when you comparing it w/ directly cable connect via 3.5mm socket (w/ Voodoo or other sth likely setter)
The problem is I always surfer the lagging when I am telephoning.
I don't know why it happens but this issue appeared on my fd phones as well.
But nothing happened on Vivaz. This puzzled me for a long while but not now.
Normally, I just wanna use it as a mic and plug my rubbish earphone for phone call.
Please forgive my poor English as I am not a native speaker.
Right before placing an order for this mw600,thinking to replace my sein for cycling and I like this mw600 to handle 2device, music also nice reduction.
So, and I wonder is there some issue using this with:
-gt-i9100/2.3.3
-gt-p1000/4.0.4
