Here's all you need to skin resco keyboard pro 6.x ( and photomanager pro 7.x, pocket radio 3.x , maybe works for others resco apps).
The skin maker comes from here, so credits to author: Ветошкин В.В. aka en-trance (4pda.ru).
I found it was not clearly described and a little out of place in "software development" thread, so here's my little tutorial.
I attached here the keyboard skin files as example , but you can extract and manage the ..rpk skins from yor latest resco software.
INSTRUCTIONS1) extract from RescoSkinMaker_v20100616 the folder win32 or wince (depending on your OS) .
2) put the attached Default.rpk skin file into win32 folder and double click on unpack.bat
3) it will create a "skin.conf" file and a "skin" folder -containing an "Images" folder and a "Default" file.
Now you can manage the images inside the "Images" folder.
4) once you've done, go back to win32 folder and double click on pack.bat, this will create a "NewSkin.rpk" file, save it .
5) you have to do the same (step 1-2-3-4) with the attached Default.VGA.rpk skin, but rename it "Default.rpk" before to move it into win32 folder, at the end of the process remenber to rename the obtained "NewSkin.rpk" to "NewSkin.VGA.rpk"
6) move "NewSkin.rpk" and "NewSkin.VGA.rpk" to the skin folder or resco keyboard

hi, I'm not enough expertized to answer.. just know that the keyboard displays the system fonts.. so if you install a white font, you'll have it on keyboard too.
maybe you can do something with the skin.conf or the "Default" file, or there's a reg tweak for this, but let's wait for someone more "inside" that thing
i really like this keyboard.. accurate and fast.. wish to have a wp7 skin so that it will look good on sms-chat
Apparently, editing the Default.xaml file is not possible (in Keyboard pro 6 & Photo Manager Pro 7).

I've removed phone shortcut and put soft reset.
Replace all the files in Windows folder and install reset.cab.

The zip files generate many .brn files. How does one install this? Move to the zip file to the phone (what directory?) and then unzip? Or unzip on the desktop and then move the files? To what directory?

Hi,it's normal it's the picture format for this plugin.Unzip the files in your pc then replace the original files by mine in windows directory on your ppc.

I finally decided to give your action screen a try. Looks great, but I was wondering would you be able to make the background a darker black color? I am using the Diamond Mobile Shell skin, and a darker background would match it better.

As I like this color and Manila, I was upset to manually change the images in order to have a black theme. So I decided to try programming my own custom stuff and I finally present you this small tool using Mortscript.
No revolution, no award winning, it's just a "swiss-knife" in order to simplify the installation of cab files.

can you rename titanium_240x320.cpr to titanium_240x400 and with chome visual editor edit the area of nav and icon size.
You have to try for that I do not have 240x400. I make this for you i can´t look the result.

Making skins is as simple as editing the .png files (sadly it doesnt support transparency)
There are 2 sets of files. One for WVGA, the other for VGA.
Theres a pressed & an unpressed image for each of these:
White keys
Black keys
Close button
First octave
Second octave
Third octave
Settings button
Theres an image for each of these:
Back button (for the settings page)
Background (the area behind the buttons, above the keys)
Other Options:
You can also edit the locations & sizes of the 4 buttons along the top.
This is done by editing the text file "Skin.txt" which is just a list of numbers
Theres a README file that comes with it to explain how to edit that.
I must point out that these skins are for the NEXT version of SimplePiano, which isnt available yet.
So trying these skins with SimplePiano 2.1 wont work properly.
If you do want to make a skin for this, please upload a zip with the files in (including the skin.txt)
Also post a screenshot too so people can see what it looks like
Here are 2 examples made for a previous build which didnt have the settings button yet.
