Try wiping camera apk cache, and fix permissions in recovery
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App

hello, many thanks for your reply!
Iam a new user and iam not a experienced user.
Please can you explain exactly what should i do to wiping camera apk cache?
And what steps should i follow to fix permissions???
thanks

Go to settings/applications/camera/clear cache
to fix permissions you need root explorer or custom recovery...
what about trying to reflash the camera?
try another camera program from the market?

[Q] [email protected]@19Mb doesnt work?

Ive mentioned this on the last page of the related thread, but since it might get 'lost' in the crowd im mentioning the issue here. If by some way im violating any of the rules, im really sorry and the mods can delete this thread.
I have a brand new O2X, on which i flashed internal SDcard CWM found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098745 and then copied on internal sdcard and flashed the version recommended for stock froyo (v10b) Camera-1.1.3.4_44-96.zip found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090785 as well as Paul's Performance pack found here http://android.modaco.com/topic/336678-8-apr-r2-stock-performance-pack/ . I tried recording 1080p with Super Fine @ Picture Quality (camera menu) but the result i get, as check on vlc, is [email protected] On android's 'Manage Applications' menu i see that camera is on v1.0 . Shouldnt it show v1.1.3.4? It seems that the cam mod flash didnt work so im wondering whether the same happened for the performance pack patch.. Any suggestions? Any advice would be very welcome. Thanx in advance
Peace
1. with titanium backup uninstall stock camera.apk
2. unzip Camera-1.1.3.4_44-96.zip
3. install moded camera.apk from .zip
have fun
p.s: If you do this correctly, you get new camera icon with red eye.
I can do this without having the phone rooted? I have only flashed CWM, i havent done anything more to root the phone
Thanx

And does this probably also means the flashin Paul's Performance pack also didnt work? I dont get it, this should be a straightforward situation
Thanx

I tried to root the phone using one click root (found on the dev forum) but it didnt work.. It showed 'failed' on step 4.. Now i dont even know whats going on with the phone... Jesus, i appreciate all the work that the devs are doing but till now none of the guides ive used has worked. Flashing the patch for [email protected] didnt work and now this one-click-root failed half way thru.. damn it
EDIT: Sry for the fuzz mate, there was a different way to root the O2X which seems to have worked, thanx for the input
I tried all you did, but when i tried to install the modified camera.apk i just got a message 'app not installed' ((
I stupidly deleted system camera.apk without backup and im now left with no camera app.. s##t

Ok now you have root and uninstall stock camera.apk , right?
Now go to recovery mode and clear dalvik-cache and partition ( via cwm ).
after this start phone normally and copy modded camera apk to system/app with root explorer and click on him and click install.
p.s: here is stock camera http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159404

I do not know I always do "wipe cache partition and dalvik cache" when installing modding apps, kernel's and etc.
btw now after wipe dalvik cache and partiotion, also can try to install Camera-1.1.3.4_44-96.zip via recovery.

[Q] Soft bricked 5570 - boot screen freeze

Hello dear friends!
I have following issue with the phone>
1. Phone had froyo installed on it.
2. i tried to copy a custom rom to sd, and then, i just tried to flash it directly via stock recovery. (completly noobish, i realize now...)
3. apparently by the status from the stock recovery it succeeded. BUUUT actually not...
so>
4. i got stuck into the samsung boot logo...
so>
5. i tried to flash cwm recovery through this steps provided by this tutorial.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342190
6. I now got a black screen instead of any recovery. tried it also with the froyo version of the recovery (designed apparently specially for froyo devices) and also with the gingerbread one. still no joy....
now, i am really lost and have no further ideas.... please help me at least get this back to stock again (it is the phone from work and i will have a hard time explaining them that i bricked it.... )...
please advise what should i try further??
THANKS!!!!!
PS> pls take into account that i am kind of a noob regarding this device... did a lot of things on my hox, but i do not know to much about this s5570....

ok, now device is in following state>
flashed GB rom on it - working
by downloading official gb rom from
here
flashed cwm recovery - works with the steps from my first post now
flashing a custom rom from a zip on the sd card does not work afterwards!!!!!!! - it soft bricks phone again and i have to redo the 2 steps above.... why???
what am i doing wrong???
you didn't wipe data and cache before and after flashing process, right
now u have cwm recovery just boot into recovery and flash another rom... but before u flash rom make sure u clear cache and data from recovery menu then flash rom.
Guilty as charged!!
Trying it now and updating afterwards!

if your flashing gingerbread over froyo without wiping cache and data then that's why your getting soft brick.
I flashed jb from odin, so no cache deletion needed...
But yes, for custom rom install delete cache data all except sd before!!
So now cyanogenmod is up and running!!

[Q] Mackay 4.4

Hey there, I registered because i recently bought a used galaxy i9000.
It came with the 2.3.6, so I wanted to upgraded it, so I had to use this custom rom's, which I've never heard about before.
After some research i decided to use the Mackay_ROM_4.1.7 to upgrade my phone, but after i did it, some problems appeared:
-The Play Store disapeared; (Meanwhile I was able to fix this error)
-It's always appearing this message on the screen "Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped."
Is there a way to change to another ROM?
If yes, is there any way to fix these problems without need to change the ROM?
I would appreciate your help and opinion.
Thanks!
And sorry for my bad english and all my questions, I am kind of a noob in these things
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile I was able to fix both errors.
1- I fixed the google play store problem by trying with another "gapps" file, the first one maybe was corrupt.
2- The other error I fixed it by doing a factory reset
Hey
If u are new to things then i would recommend using cyanogen mod..
get.cm
Download from that link and also install gapps from goo.im/gapps
Steps:
1. TAKE EFS FOLDER BACKUP
2. Boot recovery
3. Wipe data/factory reset
4. Wipe cache & dalvik cache (under advance)
5. Install zip from sdcard
6. Choose zip
7. Install gapps
8. Reboot, first boot will b about 5-10 mins..
Done..

Thank you for your answer!
I will do that when i get back home, but there isn't any problem to do that while I am using Mackay? Because now when i press the keys to the recovery menu, I don't go to the samsung recover, I go to the Mackay recovery...
And what link are you talking about?
Now I have a different problem, my back camera is all blurry, is there a way to fix it?
Try to clean data of camera app and reboot the phone....

Are pictures fine once you focus it?
Clear data of Camera and Gallery (they're seperate on Kitkat), or push another apk from another rom to see kf there is any difference. Also try apps from the market like Focal

From another rom's zip file (CM, Omni etc), extract the Camera.apk and try install it.

[Q] Help please - "unfortunately, NFC service has stopped"

Hi...
After installed the Leaked Xperia T Android 4.3 ROM ....on my phone ...i have the message "unfortunately, NFC service has stopped"...I can hit OK and it goes away but within 1 second it's back....impossible to use the phone.
Any ideas?
Thanks!:crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:
Try deleting anything related to NFC from system/app.. Will break NFC though, even if it works.

I'd try freezing NFC ... if there is a chance getting there.
Then I'd boot into safe mode and see it if that does not call up the message. If this does not help, I'd flash the ROM again (and delete all cache, system part, dalvik etc.)
same problem here, im gettin mad, cant instal cwm, cant flash rom via flash tool...
how to enter to safe mod?

Call up boot down screen and then long tap on Power off.
finally fixed this stupid problem wit nfc, well i had to install fresh stock .145 via flashtool then root, flash cwm n dk v8 then flash 4.3 leaked.
if someone else have this annoying issu then try my way :good:
