thanks mate but i have another question too, is this safe or no? And why the overclock is good for?
If you don't know if it's safe and don't really know what it does... DON'T DO IT.
It isn't "safe" just like bungee jumping isn't "safe" ... It's perfectly fine if you know what you are doing and have the right equipment.

It seems a leaked Android 2.2 update was released for the International Galaxy S. It is NOT compatrible with our US models, but I figured Id post it for those who want to look at getting it to work on our US versions.

Just checked this out.. Looks fairly promising, basically requires a regedit to get it to download the file.. hopefully i can see what it will do for the Vibrant.
looks legit, but man they were about to lynch the OP for a while there in that thread haha, I guess it's only a matter of time now...
crossing my fingers that T-mobile will do a fast job on getting the update ready for us to

Yep, almost certainly going to be like the first froyo leak all over again, lol.
So FYI, for those who don't know, flashing the previous froyo leak via odin, and then trying to flash back to stock JFD, was the only confirmed way to truly brick a vibrant, so PLEASE don't do anything unless you know 100% what you're doing.
This likely isn't like eugene's version of the previous froyo leak yet, and will probably flash the baseband, which is probably still irreversible (that's the part that caused bricks when trying to revert.)

Never flashed before but I am rooted.
Is there a guide for installing CM7? I didn't see one (for CDMA).
Thanks!!
As far as I know, CM7 isn't available yet for CDMA tabs.
a) Wrong sub-forum
b) There is no CDMA version
c) Flashing CM7 even onto the GSM is NOT for newbies, stick with the Jxx series until there's a proper port.

It's good on devices that are supported by Koush, nothing more. Now let the thread die (given that I'm sure you have more questions about ROM manager, you are welcome to PM me, or open a thread in Q&A/general)

Love it so far. Few questions:
1) Whats the best rom for it so far?
2) Once its rooted can you use the kindle app on it?
3) I currently have a few megazine subscriptions set to it. Once its rooted will I still be able to access them using the Nook app? Thanks!

1) CyanogenMod 7, IMO, is the best for any number of reasons. Read the the threads on this board for more info.
2)Yes
3)The nook app in the market can now read magazines. I've read NatGeo and it works great.
Also whats the best kernel for the nook?

Kernels are Rom specific. Find a rom you want to use, read the entire thread regarding said rom, and pick you kernel after that. For example....CM7 nightlies, stables, and Phiremod all use a .29 kernel. CM7.1 Beta 3 uses a .32 kernel, and the stock Barnes & Noble Firmware has it's own kernels with their own thread in the dev. section. Make sure to read any applicable threads, so you don't have to start a new thread about how you broke your Nook LOL.

Unless you are experimenting to determine what happens when you do something a dev says not to do.

I can't count how many times I've misspelled his name. Sorry dalingrin!
There are some many different threads that it is confusing. I would just like to know the best way to root the Captivate so I can run Titanium backup. If someone would point me in the right direction I would appreciate. I am sure it has been anwered but it is hard to go through 100 pages per thread.
Thanks to anyone willing to help!
I am running stock Froyo 2.2 I897UCKB1 Kernel 2.6.32.9
Superoneclick.
Thanks! It is still confusing. The Superoneclick thread is over 500 pages long. What is the most recent version that will work on my phone? Good directions too!

None that I am Aware of
I was just curious as to how long the root may take for the v20c thrill? I apologize for asking, as I'm sure it is being worked on, just curious if anybody has found any leads yet...
I was testing V20C against V21A, and they run the same. However, V21A doesn't have any bloatware.

Ehh yeah I figured lol, I don't know if you're the right guy to ask, but when I try to flash the V21A, I follow the steps outlined, and when the LGMobile Support Tool opens up, it says "Your cell phone is the latest version already, so you do not need to upate." Any ideas?

What about the basebands? I notice the 20c has a more consistant and stronger connection than when I had the 21a installed?
