I have the prob with stock weather widget. I dunno when this prob happened since clock in weather widget is not updating. Then I checked running services, found weather service is gone. So I reboot the phone, removed widget and add again, the service won't start. I'm using adw launcher 1.3, appwidgetpicker.apk. please help, thank you

do you use some task killer?because this happend to me too and i discovered that my task killer was killing the widget and thats why it wont update. if you have some task manager, killer or something like that, uninstall it asap.
I've changed to Launcher Pro and original weather widget does not work anymore.
Now I use WF Clock Widget, and It's less cool, but rocks, and works fine for me.
Yeah yeah it was task killer fault hahha. But nvm I've deleted the apk because drained my battery.
I'm using adw 1.3.3 and push appwidgetpicker.apk (search xda for the app) to system/app, set permission to rw-r-r. Reboot, add widget and now you can use stock widgets

hi, for me this is the best weather widget i've seen so far but i have owains ics with
Apex launcher and could manage this weather app to work,
the problem lies in the widgets, the only widget that works is 2x2, the 4x3 and 4x4 does not work, it tells me "problem loading widget", what can I do?
i've uploaded the app here : http://minus.com/mSs1h9aUw/

Hello,
I've just installed CyanogenMod 7 on my Milestone, and as I hate ADW.Launcher, I used this mod to remove it and replace with the default gingerbread launcher. The problem is that my application icons are now blurry(only at the app tray, not on the home screen):

What should I do to solve this?

I've faced the same problem. Heard that it has something to do with MDPI icons stretching to HDPI or some such thing. No one seems to have fixed it yet.
Another thing about the stock launcher --> laggy as hell (consumes lots of memory). It would be good to see a lighter, stock 3D launcher for all 2.3 ROMs.
I noticed that when using cronos ginger...
I can't stand them 3D lauchers anyway...
I don't see how anybody can actually hate ADW... if I try another launcher I always miss ADW features
Use a 3rd-party launcher like ADW or GO. Both will automatically set the icons to hdpi.

what must i do?
Not the Dev, but I have my own sense theme. uninstall Facebook, reinstall the sense launcher, login to Facebook widget, reinstall Facebook application. its tedious I know but its the only work around that is legal.

download link is broken. also, have you edited the launcher itself? what did you edit

nevermond, its was the XDA app that wasn't working, also disregard my question about the launcher, the screenies didn't load so I couldn't see it.

one issue I'm running into is that when I press the right messaging button on the dock, the highlighted (green) button is the icon for the left messaging button. a simple icon switch should work

Hi,
I was using the task manager that installs with Go Launcher EX to have a look around and noticed that the torch widget/app that came with the stock GB install was running in the background. When I killed it, it restarted automatically and when I checked its permissions it had pretty much free run of everything (see pic - and that doesn't show the lot).
Now, I may be being paranoid, but this setup looks very suspicious for a simple torch app - anyone with more experience of such things care to comment.

Block those with Droidwall.
I don't understand why stock music player on ICS (and may be on GB too) can read email attachment, sms/mms ?
Yes, weird. I've actually frozen it with Titanium Backup and installed a free widget from the Play Store.
Can someone please recommend a clock/weather widget that will be centered on the home page. I must have tried 8 apps and none worked.
Thanks
You can center any widget if the launcher allows you to resize the area its in. The default launcher that comes with this phone lasted about 10 minutes before I replaced it. Look at Apex or Nova see example

Weird I have the same problem. In the past I've used Transparent clock and weather Widgets or Fancy Widgets and now the weather part of the widget does not show up, frustrating.
Edit: Transparent clock and weather works now w/ 5.1.0!
Thanks for the info bro but I was trying to use the Google now launcher. If my search turns up nothing maybe I will switch. Which launcher of closer to the Google now launcher.
Does either offer a Google cards page?
We're in the same boat as the initial iPads, it's scaled up for a screen.
Example - News and weather, googles own, now needs to be scaled so that the widget can be a 5x1 or 5x2, etc.
We've got 5 spots across and the N6 stock, and they didn't yet account for it.

I'm using the GNL with a Zooper widget (taken from the LG Flex I believe) and there is no issue with centering.
Got my phone debloated yesterday and started adapting it to my preferences.
I was very happy with the look and widget functionality on my P30 Pro and ideally would like to replicate it.
Here is a screenshot:

I am using Nova and an icon pack called 7null, but this is no longer available on the appstore - and can't find it on my phone.
Not a big deal.
The widget showing the time is Zooper which unfortunately is not longer available. I love this widget as it's extremly customisable - I chose to have it connected to my google calender so it always shows the next event. Phone temp not important. Tapping the clock takes me to the alarm, tapping calender opens google calendar.
I tried to transfer the app and downloaded it as APK from the web, but nothing happens when I try to install.
Anyone know if it's possible to install or if there is another widget that has a similar look/funtionality?
The next calender event is number 1 for me. The option on the phone right now just showing the entire calendar month.
thanks!
Reinstalled the Vivo store which enabled me to install the APK - now I just need to figure out how to remove the widget name without losing the app names
try this
go to setting->Home screen,lock screen & wallpaper->home screen settings->icon style,size & name->turn off show icon name
tried that but that removes app names which I need. I just want the widget name gone. Never had widget names displayed on other phones
