I would like to know which browser is the best solution for our xperia x1 or generally windows mobile.
And maybe someone could help me with my opera mobile 10 problem or knows which of these versions is the fastest and best

148 points
download 1.81 mbps
upload 0,33 mbps
latency 212,8 ms
browser 12.745 ms
Dude here is the best browser until now that I have used.....I got two final exams tomorrow but still searched all over XDA to get you this....just enjoy and pray for me...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961016
i would like to watch videos with streaming media and not direct in the browser, cause thats a little laggy...is that possible?
Then the pre installed Opera is the best option for that!!..
hm 9.5 doesnt supports flash an i wanne have the same browsing like on pc
try skyfire
hohoho skyfire doesnt works any more since 2010 for windows mobile
ouppss sory i think just in my country thats browser doesnt work...
opera 10 beta 3 i think is good browser...
hm are there any differences between the opera mobile 10 final version and opera mobile 10 beta 3?
Yo usé casi todos los navegadores que hay, incluso el opera 10.
Pero si tenes el windows mobile 6.1 te conviene usar el navegadores que viene con el celular, es mas practico

I used almost all browsers, including Opera 10.
But if you got the windows mobile 6.1 for you to use the browser that comes with the phone, is more practical.
Sorry my bad english
opera mini 5.1 as main browser
opera 9.7 as backup
opera 10 sucks (uses too much memory), and pocket ie? don't even mention it.
forget flash on winmo, it won't work. even if you get it implemented to your browser, it will be flash 7. but every page these days needs at least flash 8, if not higher.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544770 is that possible to get opera 9.7 with flash support on the xperia x1?
it has been possible in the past, but it never really worked on all pages, just some.
if you read the last 2 pages of that thread, you'd understand that the guy who made this mod stopped developing it. less and less pages accept the flash-version you could get with it.
if you want flash on your mobile, get an android-phone. and for good experience, better make it a dual-core cpu...

hm the 5.1 has just mobile view right?
9.7...some developed or the standard?
mini 5.1 normally shows the page you entered, if it's desktop-version, it will show desktop-version. but there are some pages which detect it's mini and automatically send you to their mobile version.
i use latest 9.7.36053 from a leaked oboe-rom.

whow its faster and looks really good but this version has bugs and i cant find the turbo
when i want to write with the hardware keyboard into the adress bar it doesnt works i can only write one letter, then it stops.. just softkeyboard works fine...
the normal 9.7 beta version doesnt have this keyboard problem but also doesnt looks that fine...is there a solution or version that looks like the one you linked without problems on the xperia x1
and is it possible to watch youtube videos with the opera 9.7?
From my experience Opera mini 5 is actually the same functionally as Opera Mobile 10 (any differences?)
BUT it draws pages/fonts so much faster that the Mobile should be forgotten
Don't know why is it like that but just the Mini version is much faster(without turbo function I think). Mobile 10 seems to has some problem in drawing fonts, maybe 9.7 has that fixed?
i use mostly opera mini with 3G/HSDPA or when i don't need page quality, bust just speed...
so as caliban, my backup browser is Opera Mobile 9.7.
the main difference between those 2 browsers (mobile and mini) is that in Opera Mini, the Opera Presto browser engine is located on a server. In Opera Mobile, it is installed on your phone.
so, a server can process the site faster than our 528MHz CPU, but the site is processed almost the same for all devices using this browser... that's why mini is faster than mobile.
But opera mobile, despite of the speed, is better(at least for me), it uses a real time connection, it has JavaScript, and if you edit some things in opera:config you will love this browser.
sorry for any language and/or grammar-related errors...
greetings from Romania

Anyone have this on their Tilt/TYTN II and able surf the web? I keep getting an error that says "Unable to connect to the server. Please try later". I can connect with PIE, and Opera Mini, is there a setting or something I'm missing?
I dont use mine often, but I used it about 9 hours ago and it worked fine. With the older version, I got that error from time to time, maybe about 3% of the time. But since using the latest version, I have never seen the message.
I had to connect to the internet with regular IE, then start up Picsel Browser before it would work. You might try Netfront Browser instead, it works a lot better IMO.

Agreed. IMHO, Picsel is just isn't worth bothering with. Alternative browsers are WAY better. See http://wiki.xda-developers.com/inde...new Opera Mobile, Picsel, Spb Pocket Plus etc.
Thanks i'll check out net browser, i really liked the way picsel was setup but i can't tell how surfer the net is, all i know is PIE is slow for surfing the net and i don't like the way Opera Mini is setup, i've tried minimo which isn't too bad, but i can't seem to be able to scroll using the screen w/it, i have to use the scroll bars on the side and bottom.
Why don't you give Opera 8.65 mobile a try. I mean the real Opera mobile not Opera Mini. NetFront used to be my favourite browser but now I think Opera Mobile has overtaken NetFront plus the developers of NetFront have excessively slowed down their development process. Just see for almost a year they are just posting Technical Previews of version 3.4 and not the final version and for most of the Technical Previews I failed to see how it differed from the previous except for an extended expiry date.

does opera mobile work similar to opera mini? i mean the functions were you click to type into the search section of a site then it opens up another window were you type in what you want? that's one of the few features i don't like about opera mini, that and you can't take off the yahoo search function. and are you able to play youtube video's on opera mobile? or do you have to add programs to do that?
The behavior for new windows opening in Opera Mobile is exactly the same as on the real desktop internet explorer, specially if you have set it to allow opening of Pop-Up windows.
Regarding playing of Youtube movies, yes it does manage playback but the video is very choppy.
I suggest why not try the free evaluation version?
Regards

that's what i did was download the 30day trial, i'm mainly just looking for something that will load pages a little faster than PIE, if i can play videos of sites, that'd be nice too, but loading pages quickly is what i'm looking for. so far it seems no faster than PIE.
can i watch the good trailers?
In Order For Picsel To Work by itself... You Have To Do The "always Online" Hack
I dunno if this has been talked about bu i used a iphone and used the web browser.. ya? anyways the IE sucks its slow and loadds really slow... any help with that as in like a diff program to use?
Use Opera 9.5. That's one of the best or you can use mini opera as well. There are different types of browsers that can be used.
1) Opera Mobile 9.5 build 15233 + Flash Plugin
2) SkyFire
3) Opera Mini
4) Iris Browser
5) Internet Explorer
Listed in order of "best" to worst. I personally like Opera's UI better then Skyfire, but Opera w/ the Flash Player 3 can only play youTube and flash advertisements. SkyFire has full flash capabilities, and it is by far the fastest, but I just don't like the UI as much as Opera, (which is why I put it at #2 instead of #1). All browsers are free.
Hi guys, I want to share with you some of my impressions considering the options we have for web browsers.
I personally don't like browsers like skyfire/opera mini which does not render the real page, but prerendered on server image kind of page (streamed to the browser). Also in some cases it is much slower, because some local sites must go to outside servers, rendered there and put back on my "browser". For such sites, the connection I have is much better than the connection skyfire server has.
Opera 9.7: even in it's early beta stage has problems rendering pages, some of which look very awkward. Have you seen this forum on 9.7, the links to the threads are HUGE comparing to all other browsers. Many other sites I visit do not render correctly too, problem that does not exist in Opera 9.5. I hope that they will fix that in the later versions of 9.7.
Iris Browser: so far the best browser in rendering quality and almost the same speed as Opera 9.5/9.7. That's because of its engine: WebKit - it is far superior in standard support and rendering quality than Opera's engine for example. The only 2 minuses I see in it is that first it lacks full screen (the one they call full screen has the buttons on the bottom still visible, which is not the same as Opera 9.5/9.7's full zoom). The other drawback in this browser is it's double tap zoom, very often the zoom is not enough and I need to zoom in one or twice to make the text easily readable.
Flash support: I have flash support under 9.7 and it is as bad as it was before. Only some banners are rendered, the online videos can not be streamed, and when I zoom page, very often the flash banners are moved on wrong coordinates, placed on text or somewhere else it should not be. All in all, its far better without it.
Opera 9.5: so far the most reasonable choice as it has better zoom than Iris, and renders pages better than 9.7 (still not as good as Iris, but usually with no problems).
I can't search for "opera 9.5" in the forum (the numbers are confusing the search engine and after search no results can be found). I am using Itje's Touch-it 10.4, which has no opera 9.5 in it. Can you please send me a link to the latest 9.5 builds of Opera. I really miss that browser. Thank you in advance!
I'm a new fan of Netfront v3, seems a pretty good and fast browser.
I'll dig the .cab out for you and post it.

Thank you very much or this link. I've also installed NetFront 3.5. It is fast browser, but it doesn't seem to have tap-to-zoom feature, also I can't zoom more than 125%, which on X1's display is still too small for text reading.

Is this tha latest R3A stock Opera Rom? I cannot remember the latest stock Build number.
The point for all browsers is: Only the X1 Stock Operas support the optical joystick.
Its straight off my R3AA013 O2 UK stock ROM.

in opera:config you can change zoom to make links and text better. I changed it from 200 to 140 and it works better. clicking on links in 9.7 is better than 9.5. The only thing I miss from 9.5 is scrolling with optical joystick.
agree with thelucius
opera 9.5 is best for now
iris is good but font rendering not comparable to opera
fennec seems bulky
and skyfire looks blurred
can anyone please make a cab of default sony ericsson x1 start page.
missing it on custom roms as it was easier to get user guide with it
thanks

The 200 to 140 thing really helped, thanks!
I still prefer Opera to anything else, just has the best UI in my opinion.
Once I installed operamobile 9.7
I completely ditched 9.5
9.7 is faster and has even better UI.
Both crash anyway.....
So my main browser is OMini 4.2,
with 9.7 doin' what 4.2 cannot do!

What is Mach 5?
Hey guys, I apologize in advance if there is a thread for this (I searched, honestly, but did not find what I was looking for)
I was wondering if there is a fast loading, flash playing (ex. youtube) version of Opera mobile. I don't want to use Opera 9.7 due to the fact that I'm not interested in using a server based browser (privacy issues), turbo mode renders pictures horribly, turbo mode loads only on mobile website version for some websites, and the browser loss the ability to reformat columns when zoomed in, loss of using zoom in hardware button.
I am currently using NFSFAN's Opera 9.5 build 16643 vga which is fast, but wanted to know if there is a faster version (also this version does not support youtube).
Well, thx guys. Take care.
?
I dont know which is faster, but why do you need youtube in the browser when you have a dedicated youtube app?
skyfire
I'd say give a try to Skyfire....It is fast and support youtube (and any flash)
Cheers!
+1 for the skyfire, till now there is no competition, skyfire in my opinion is the best mobile browser there is. still if u like opera wait a little longer till they release a final version of the 9.7 browser. it should support flash than.
Skyfire works well but the browser image quality is diffuse.
Opera Mobile 9.5 Build 16453 & 16070 both work well

If you want the fastest Opera browser for the Touch Pro? Get OperaMiniV8
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=455655
Faster than Skyfire, Opera (any build) and Iris...tried them all...however no flash support.
Skyfire...Skyfire...Skyfire!
I have to agree Skyfire for overall use is the best hands down browser I use on my Touch Pro. It seems to be the most stable and does not dump out in the middle of searching or scrolling through web pages (ala Opera any version). If you can get past the diffuse of the page loads then you will enjoy the overall experience of FULL web browsing on your phone.

Skyfire is the best, but it looks like QVGA.
Even then... Still the best
Built in my personal ROM since the begining
I read that flash doesnt work on opera but i can access you tube which requires flash, it says underneath the video i need flash player yet it still works why is that?
I dont think opera mini would ever support flash.
After all, opera mini is not a real browser, but it shows prerendered on server pages/images. If it supports flash in the future, it will be something like Skyfire's flash support.
I would love to have decent flash 9/10 support on Opera Mobile 9.7 (including flash video and excluding the ugly flash positioning problems that occur now). That will be something much appreciated.

After all OperaMini is a fantastic browser.
Flash 10 was supposed to be supported soon, I remember reading this few weeks ago, by Microsoft.
I agree - that's the last element we really miss here.
OMini is kicking ass especially in slow data transfers, literally the speed is almost the same. But I doubt it will have flash....
OMobile is great only on high speeds but it eats so much data - and battery.
Anyway OM 9.7 with a real flash = amazing.
Yeah but my point is, why did it still play the you tube video even though it said i needed to instll flash 10

You need to have FlashLite 3.1 installed.
did it play within the opera mini browser or did it somehow opened the flv in an external player like.... coreplayer? otherwise, pass me the cab/jar fie of the opera version you have and i will try out

It always played this outside OM.
OMini Beta 5 and OperaMobile 9.7beta are available through Opera sites.
Opera mini sucks IMHO. Maybe version 5 will change that, but who knows?
I use Opera 9.5 and if a certain site crashes it, I use skyfire for it. CorePlayer handles YouTube videos perfectly.
