The phone does not indicate the SIM card - LG Optimus 2x

So I became unpleasant thing.
I froze indicated charging to 57% - here to help restart.
But the second I hope that helps Custom Flash ROM. Again I had frozen battery indicator and I are only those arrows that correspond to synchronization and even then I do not want to take the SIM card (I also tried it from a friend) just does not offer me a PIN. Furthermore, the device will not charge, will begin to charge when turned off. I have an official ROM v10c
Thank you for your help
PS: sorry for bad English

Tried to reinstall T-Mobile 2.26, error during install, issues now with bootloader...

Hi all! This is my first post here so, please be nice.
This is regards a t-mobile MDA It is a g3 version.
I was trying to reinstall the 2.26 ROM straight from the t-mobile website. It had gotten to about 90% when a connection error came up. It started the "recovery" process, so I did that perfectly, but then, the bootloader randomly restarts when I plug in the USB. Now, I have been doing a lot of reading on this forum. I have disabled wescomm during install, i have stopped all background programs.
I started again. I got to about 10% of the reinstall, when the bootloader restarted itself..again.
I'm sorta thinking it's the battery, but before i did this reinstall, i let the battery fully charge to 100%. So, i don't know how it could've drained so fast, if that is even the problem. The battery is in good condition. It has about a couple days of stand-by time.
Of course now, i'm stuck in bootloader mode that randomly restarts. Is there anyway of making it stop restarting?
How can I get my MDA back? It seems the programs I've found require activesync and my phone doesn't stay on long enough for any of them to work.
Thanks for all your help. I'm sorry if the answers I need were posted elsewhere, I did do a search, so maybe I have just been using the wrong terms...
I have uploaded a YouTube video if you want to see the restarting for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h0Sp37N-ZU
-Pam
EDITED: I have removed the SD card also.. still no luck. If the phone is bricked, please just tell it to me...just make it fast...
EDITED: THE PROBLEM IS FIXED!! THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!
Hi,
This is a battery issue. Everytime you got errors like this, try to recharge it again and redo the flash procedure. I spent a whole day doing it once and it worked!
ok... So, even though the bootloader keeps restarting, it is charging the battery?
thanks!
-pam
Use your wall charger instead of the USB cable to be sure that it's charging.

Can we know how you did it? That could be a good help for others
Well, I did what everyone said I should. I did have to jump start the battery, plugging it in did nothing but drain what was left on the battery. So, I read on the forum that a 9V and some twist ties should do it and it did give it some juice to be charged. I had to hunt down the exact wall charger that came with the MDA, because my other wall chargers (for my other phones) didn't charge the phone. But, once I had that all set up, and it was charging because the bootloader screen stayed on the entire time it was charging. So, an hour later I tried the install again, it finally completed. Thank god!
Well, the reason why I wanted to reflash the ROM was because I was having a hard time inputting on the screen, I would tap one place and something a quarter-inch over would be selected. And also, whenever I turned on the wi-fi, the MDA would restart. I tried hard-resetting, and it wasn't helping.. But, now it has been reflashed, everything works great.. except the random, unexplainable restart. :|
Need help myself
I'm having a simular problem with my G3 device.
I wanted to get rid of NBD 8.0 because it constantly was rebooting or simply shutting down. I thought it was the software so downloaded a different ROM.
Before installing this new ROM I (as usual) downgraded before upgrading (installed regular T-mobile ROM). This however didn't go to well. At about 85% it got stuck and reported an error 302. I tried recharging and different ROM's but to no aveill.
I just got of the horn with T-Mobile and they're willing to send me a new battery (free of charge).
At the moment my Wizard is in the wallcharger, none of the 5 or 6 ROM's I've tried have worked, they all stall at one point or other and the bootloader then keeps flashing on and off.
I'm hoping the new battery will work, but I'm interested in that solution you used, what did you do? How did you jumpstart your battery?
Any advise is welcome (concerning this issue of course ) so HELP!?!?!
I have the battery jumpstart solution described here in the top post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321342&page=2. Hope it helps.
Did the battery solution, didn't work, I'm beginning to loose faith. I'm still waiting for the replacement battery from T-Mobile, hope that helps.
EDIT: I GOT MY NEW BATTERY, and everything works again!!!
The batt boost failed so I was without a phone for a while, got everything working again. Thanks for the assistance!

kaiser not booting - says battery empty while it isn't

Hello good people,
I've been searching the forums but i don't seem to be able to find a solution for my dead kaiser.
I'll explain the problem:
When i push the power button on my Kaiser, it start's booting the first part, displaying the "smart mobility" slogan by HTC, after a few seconds, some data appears in red, in the right lower corner of the screen, this is what is says:
R 1.27.12.11
G 22.45.88.07H
D 1.56.00.00
After displaying this for a while (about 1 min.) it goes to the Windows Mobile Splash Screen.
After displaying this for a few seconds (5 to 10 secs) it makes the "empty battery" sound and shuts down.
Can someone help me ?
*** And NO, the battery is NOT empty ... i've charged it over night, and the power light was green. ***
I've tried booting with and without SIM and MicroSD cards ... makes no difference.

Will it boot with the phone plugged in to power?
Bill
Yeah, try booting with the charger on. Chances are that your battery' life is out..
Reagdrs,
Carty..
I have had the same thing and wondered if it was the battery... except that sometimes it will stay on for about 2 minutes, sometimes half an hour... but most of the time as soon as it goes to the Today screen, I get the battery dead sound and then it turns off. I am going to try to use another battery to see if that makes a difference.
it's not the battery
I've tried with the power cord on the phone, it does 2 things:
1. The same thing as i said before
2. Doesn't boot at all, it halts on the screen where the red data shows up and stays there until you take the power cord off and the battery out.
It does one of these things, randomly.
I've also tried with another battery from my friends kaiser which works perfectly.
So i guess it's not the battery, anyone another idea what it could be?
Might be something wrong with the firmware or anything? problem is, i can't flash it if it doesn't boot can i ??
any ideas ?
Today i managed to get my hands on a brand new kaiser battery, my uncle has a brand new kaiser and i borrowed his battery.
His battery was full, i put it in my kaiser and tried booting, same problem as above.
I've tried with the power cord plugged into the phone, the charging led went on, and i tried booting, same as above.
Later i've tried with the USB cable connected to the phone and the computer, still the same.
I've also tried soft&hard resetting with the new battery, no succes.
So therefore, i believe it's not a battery or a power problem, it must be firmware corrupted or something of the hardware broke ?
Does anyone has any idea how i can try to re-flash this thing ? to find out if that might be the problem ?
It's not the battery. Could be a bad flash or something. Try to reflash it. Yes, it will reflash even though it won't "boot" as you say. Try to reflash and then report back. Remove the memory card for now.
Also, what Rom and SPL are you using?
Ur going to have to force it into the bootloader to flash it, no biggie. Just hold down the power and camera buttons, and hold the soft reset button with the stylus, untill you get the tri color boot screen. Then flash away! I would flash a stock rom until u can tell weather your problem is hardware related or not. If hardware related keep the stock rom and spl, and try to warrenty return it.
O.k., this just happened to my Brand New kaiser last night too, WTF! Was running fine when the low battery icon came up with half battery life n shut down, now it wont start up at home screen for more than 3 secs before it shuts down and says the battery is dead even while its plugged in! There's no way to reflash or hard reset since it doesn't stay on long enough to do so. Just ordered my replacement, but reading different forums, it seems many people have experienced this with Kaiser and most around the same time, again, WTF!!!

Does it power off while beeing in bootloader? You doesnt have to start the device up to get into bootloader you know. Try checking if it shuts down while beeing in bootloader, if its not just reflash. Another thing, what spl and rom are you guys having this problem using?
It's alive!!!
Finally got it to bootloader mode before it dies and reflashed and it seems to be running just fine now. Using spl ver.1 with schaps 4.30 wm 6 (although users running the stock rom had the same experience). Got the "smart chip not provisioned mm 2" message most likely from at&t killing my sim card from a reorder as they did when I Returned the Iphone which is a rediculous policy(policing); having to constantly contact at&t to update to a new sim. Still, it makes me wonder what caused this defunct in the first place, and if it'll happen again tomorrow or the next day. Reflashing and reinstalling cabs is a Real *****, especially for a pda where people use their device for business and gather a collection of missed calls and lost connections when the Os decides to randomly crash. As much as I dig htc's devices, it's kinda strange how HTC, with such a huge marketshare with pda's, is so quiet about updates or firmware fixes. Anyways, long live the only source for htc fixes, XDA!!
Mine is still completely in the state in which i got it.
Just the stock HTC Firmware, rom's and loaders
Okay, a little update.
How the hell can i flash this thing if it keeps on bugging me with the "Wrong vender ID" message when i try to flash it ?
I know, install HardSPL ... but how can i ? without a possibility to connect ActiveSync?, you'll have to start the device for that and run activesync, but i can't because it won't even boot.
Is there any other way of getting this device to allow me to flash without needing to boot it up fully.
I have no problems getting in to the Tri-Color bootloader, but no further.
When updating it gets to 1%, then my PC gives the message: "Wrong vender ID, please use your own device's update utility" and the phone stays at 1% till i rip out the battery.
ok guys I have the same problem with two of my kaiser's
I can power them up but in aproximately 1 minut goes off, no matter if the charger is plugged or not, it doesn't make a difference
I can put the phone in tri-color screen and stays there with no problem
and I can flash them with no problem because they are olipro already
but after flash them with anything still the same problem ???
so if anybody has a clue or maybe a rom to fix this would be great
thanks
best regards
linterna
One more thing. I have the same problem but mine when starts flashes Blue LED when was good hasn't. I Started few times and it works for 2-3 weeks and again. Best to do is to not use camera. Every time it happends i ise my camera and battery was middle-low. I think its some problem with camera. Many times it don't want to start up or saids that there is no memory for saving photo. Maybe i should flash rom from wersion without cameras.
im having the same problem, has anyone solved this?
Yeah solve . HTC as a kids toy .
Buy Nokia! Or SonyEricsson.
I won't buy smartphone ever again.
Does not boot to the OS
I have the similar problem...... My kaiser is dead not even booting with battery only (not plugged to the PC or external charger).
However when I plugged it to the power source it boots up and continue to the OS and boom (shuts off) in split of second.
I tried different flash and it propelry boots and got windows up and running when plugged to the PC with the old ATT test ROM which I got from the xda threads.
But with the latest roms it wont boot to the windows , it dies before that.
Anyone having idea what could resolve this.
any update on this? i am having the same problem. i tried a hard reset already with no success it goes to the splash screen and says "the device is clearing the storage. please wait" then pings and turns off
r 1.65.21.18
g 25.88.40.05h
d 3.57.00.00
my phone is completely stock and has never been unlocked or messed with. found an updated at&t rom, i ran it and none of the numbers change in the bootup, then goes to the splash screen and says again "the device is clearinng the storage. please wait" and then pings and turns off.
also i have been searching for the oilpro or jockeyw hard spl files on google and on here but have found nothing, the search function doesnt seem to be able to find much.
any help would be appreciative, thanks in advance
Don't mean to hijack but didn't want to make my own thread when this one was here. I'm not having exactly the same problem as everyone else but I am having a battery issue. It works fine and says it's charging when plugged in but when I unplug it the battery goes down fast (like 1-4 % a minute) and when it hits around 70%, it shuts off. Then whenever I turn it on, it immediately shuts down before the Today screen fully shows (like others are mentioning here). I have to plug it back into the charger to get it to turn on again.
Could this be a bad flash too..? I know I did one of the latest HardSPLs and tonight I just now updated to the latest stock AT&T ROM. But it can't be a flash because the night I got it (bought it used on eBay), I was playing with it not plugged in using Skype and it shut off on me. I didn't think much of it and had always had it plugged in since then.
I'm assuming I simply need a new battery.. I've emailed the original owner and she says she never had any problems with it like this.

I've just started having the same problem as you. Very annoying. Mine phone is a year and a half old now, so i'm assuming the battery is coming to an end.
Charge battery, will last a while, but goes down to around 80-70% and then it says plug power in blah blah blah and dies. Then when you charge it, it stays on one or 2 bars for a bit and then jumps to 100% fully charged.
Saw a procedure to "reset" the battery. Supposedly have to take the battery out for a bit then plug in and charge fully over night with the phone OFF. None of this seemed to work for me... I'm due for an upgrade in January, so is it really worth paying for a new battery... hmmm

Please help!! My milestone does not turn on!

Hey there all,
yesterday, i woke up in the morning and my milestone was blanked out. Thinking, maybe the battery was at 0%, i plugged to the wall charger (connecting to computer never worked below 5% so..), i waited about a full day but it won't turn on. when i first woke up and saw the phone was dead, i tried turning it on, it BRIEFLY showed M logo then it turned off again.
after charging endlessly and having no result, i tried everything, i tried charging without sdcard, without battery to see if it will show on screen, took out battery put it again, tried bootloader, and any possible way but milestone is not responsive.
regardless of how i press power button it wont turn on at all.
Here in Canada, all stores are closed today because its Easter sunday.. I am gonna go to telus store tomorrow to check if another battery will make it work but would the battery get totally drained within less than a year!!? i didnt use my phone TOO much. I bought may 2010, and I wonder if warranty will cover this (it is 1 year) because mine is Rooted with CM6, and since phone doesnt work right now, i cant reset to stock mode.
Please input your thoughts as to how to solve this problem T_T Thank you.
Remove battery. Plugin phone to charger. You should see a battery symbol with a question mark inside. If it does, put your battery in and your battery should start charging if everything is ok with your battery.

[Q] Phone rebooting in whatever situation

Hello, I'm new to the forums, although I always keep an eye here to download a ROM or reading any tips, but the time has come that I really need help and can't find in any topic, even the ones that are similar to mine.
I own a note and I love it. I've been using the JellyBam ROM for a while now, never changed kernels etc.
that is... until yesterday, when I flashed the thor 0.28 kernel. Everything was nice but today I had to do some stuff outside home so I took my galaxy S player with me, but when I was driving it ran out of battery, so I put its SD card in my Note (N7000), but it didnt recognized my sd card, so i changed them back and drove without music and didnt touch my phone. this was 10AM, I guess.
when I stopped to get my hair cut I noticed my phone was rebooting. I had just left my house and the battery was already in 46%. this was about 10:30AM, so I took of the battery and replaced it. the phone started normally but when the main screen appeared it turned off. I thought it was only the display, so I pressed the on/off button but it didn't work, so I pressed a little longer and the phone started again. but then it turned off.
so I plugged it into the mobile car charger and it turned on normally. so I looked to the battery stats and it was showing 20% of battery left, but the moment I took the energy cable, the phone turned off.
long story short: until now my phone is only working when connected to its charger, although it's saying 100% charged :/
from 01PM, the time I arrived, 'til now I've wiped everything I could, changed kernels, changed ROMs but it refuses to work.
I notice something, though: while charging I can use it normally, except if I try to use the camera. When I click on the camera app it turns off, as like it was not connected to the charger.
I'm about to install the stock ICS ROM to see if the problem vanishes, but I doubt it. let's see...
hope anyone can help me :/
EDIT: I'm using the stock ICS without any problem for like 10 minutes now. But when I was configuring it for the first time it turned off once. this was 10 minutes ago. oh, and the camera is taking pictures and not turning the phone off... when connected to the charger. when I take pictures USING FLASH without charging at the same time, it turns the phone off. pictures without flash are taken normally. goddamn it D: what this could be?
I would just try another battery.
If the problem doesn't occure due to the system, it can only be a hardwareproblem.
So just ask a friend and put the battery of his/her phone into yours and check if the problem still exists.
reported for using a non gpl kernel.
Change it, if you wsnt to receive help at xda, or go ask in th*rs forums...
You are like high on weed going to cops(xda) to ask them about thc content (the kernel that shall not br named)... and then not expecting a scolding.

[Q] Strange boot problem. Battery empty loop.

Hi all!
So now i have this strange boot problem.
My i9000 came on FRoYO with totally drained battery. I charged to full and then could turn the phone on.
It connected to my WLAN and everything seemed fine. I did not test with my SIM card inserted but thought it would not be necessary because
i wanted to root it anyway.
So i got heimdall on my Linux and followed the instructions given here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196179
I flashed the XWJVZ version and it seemed to be o.k. like above.
Now i followed the instructions on Cyanogen website on how to root the phone.
I got the Semaphore recovery kernel flashed and the CM11 M5 snapshot plus gaaps.
Everything turned out to be fine but only with the charger connected or the usb into the pc.
Finally i got everything up and running and inserted my SIM card and booted up again.
This time without charger.
I noticed the "empty battery symbol" flashing twice, blank screen, flashing etc..
Connected the charger, it starts charging and shows 90% charge.
Disconnected the charger. Booted, Everything fine.
So i began to read about the problem and tried a few things.
I used the battery from my second i9000, which is on CM10.2 running nicely.
I cleaned the battery contacts and the usb.
I re-inserted SIM several times.
No avail.
The phone sometimes shows empty battery but boots up on looong press of power on.
But anytime there is no cell communication, it shows "no baseband" and no IMEI.
I can connect a charger or a usb on the pc and -poof- SIM PIN is required to get on and everything is fine.
Baseband is shown. Correct IMEI as well.
So i thought maybe something had gone wrong during flashing. I removed "batterystats-files".
I wiped everything and flashed again.
I downgrade to stock rom with heimdall, see above and tested with SIM.
It seemed to be o.k. but i have to admit that i don't know if i had sit the phone in power off state long enough to see.
I upgraded to CM9 and got stuck with the problem.
I upgrade from CM9 to CM10.2 which was a drag because of the new partition layout.
Finally got it working with the same problem.
One difference: After shutdown the screen is blank and no "empty bat symbol" is shown.
If i connect the charger, the empty bat is shown flashing, going away, starts charging. Boots o.k. if done with charger.
Also:
A reboot alsways works if done immediately after shutdown!
State now:
I can make phone calls and everything after this until battery is low. I can charge in ON state and continue forever.
But every time i shutdown the phone and let it sit for some minutes it has the "inside empty bat situation" which will allow to boot
but does not recognize the SIM card.
I am really stuck on that.
My second i9000 came prerooted and ran on CM11 nightly which i downgraded to CM10.2 stable for productive use.
This is phone is fine with the battery from my problem child.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance,
Frank

In between time i went back to 10.2 stable without gaaps. Nothing much changed...
Alas:
Thanks alot for the quick response.
Nearly the same case here. Maybe the solutiion is posted in #31. Charging and draining to empty or so.
As said if i connect a charger the device boots, i can enter my SIM Pin and everything is fine.
If it is booted up i remove the charger, battery still over 80%. Everything works.
I shutdown, wait for a minute, power on.
Now wait, after the last clean wipe and install: It does not bootloop to battery empty. It boots up to the lock screen but without asking for the SIM Pin.
If i do nothing the phone keeps booting after a short while.
If i unlock the screen i can use the phone, including WLAN etc..but cannot make a call because baseband is empty.
Connecting the charger or usb in that case immediately locks the screen and asks for SIM Pin. Everything is fine...
Strange.
So is it an original Samsung battery or 3rd party? And it works perfectly fine in another i9000?

Yes, both batteries are Samsung. Old, though.
Well, during the day, after some more testing i can reproduce as follows:
Stock firmware either flashed with Heimdall or ODIN result in no problems at power-up.
Rooting no problem
CM works fine with CM 9.1 stable. No more empty battery sign and every boot SIM Pin is asked.
Going from CM9.1 to CM10.2 stable results into trouble. Something happens on repartitioning.
The phone boots several times .
After that, reboot system, the system starts but forgets to aks about SIM instead giving me the message
to read the manual on how to insert a SIM
I am just going to give it a shot again flashing stock to CM11 M6 built in one big leap.
Wait: It just boots into the new system.
Wow: It is asking for a SIM Pin. I give it and the rest of the primary setup is localized to German.
What is this? Do i dare to reboot after the ROM has settled? I guess i must...
This time something is different. The whole process from going stock to CM11 was done without charger applied.
It works flawlessly.
Hold your breath: I am going into shutdown.
Will a nandroid backup BEFORE next reboot.
SOLVED: Battery empty loop etc.
Dear readers: My issue has been solved.
To sum it up:
1.
The flashing battery symbol has not necessarily something to do with the battery state.
If you notice that your charge is good either when connecting a charger and check the bat symbol or if the system is up than it
is not the cause of trouble.
2.
Wiping batteriestats files is senseless. I see them on adb or on the file browser. They are always made new on time
a charger is disconnected. Maybe if one wants to calibrate the battery notifier it makes sense.
Not for this problem.
3.
If the battery is charged and you see some kind of battery bootloop then it really is a bootloop.
The only remedy is to go back to stock and see if it is there, too.
IF it is there, then most probably there is something worng in the hardware, i guess.
So clean your battery poles with a fine grain of sandpaper (carefully!!!) or use a sort rubber we use in school to erase
uneraseable ink (do not know the word for "Tusche", sorry).
Clean the usb port with pressurized air used for cameras. Apply a small (!) amount of TESLANOL or Tuner spray or something else
for gold contacts.
Do this also for the contacts of the SIM and battery inside the case. Use Q-Tipps to apply and dry thoroughly.
Replace your battery if nothing helps.
On stock firmware no battery bootloops ever occur, i guess otherwise cellphones would not sell.
4.
After going back to stock root your phone as usual.
You should confirm that one of the first stable CM or other mods reported to work fine work fine for you, too.
Go back to stock again and try large leaps through your ROMs.
I guess this is the way to go, finally.
In my case coming from CM 9.1 to 10.2 did something. I noticed the phone boot several times during flashing, due to repartitioning always
coming back without fault but in the end not fully functioning.
So my solution, after the battery bootloop went away which i tend to say is the result of charging and cleaning and going back
to stock WITH SIM and testing is:
Make huge leaps. It has to work or dump it.
If anything new occurs i will post in this reply.
Hope someone else can find valuable information in this thread.
Make yourself familiar with Heimdall. I found it to be much easier to use than Odin. But it depends on if you find the proper files to flash...
Best reagrds,
Frank
