Calendar GOWidget - Inverted
I've recently started using GO Launcher EX, and installed the Calendar Widget (from the market). I love the widget, but don't like the default white/blue theme. It's not currently themeable,so I made a Dark, Inverted, Transparentish theme.
Still a Work in Progress.
Some of the Smali edits were a %!&@#!$*%&#, and I owe a bunch of thanks to Rujelus22 for the guide.
Instructions
First, you need to be using GO Launcher EX for this to work. If you haven't used it, it's worth checking out. It's definitely on par with LauncherPRO and ADW.. imo.
If you already have GOWidget Calendar (on the market) installed, uninstall it first, then install this.
If you don't already have GOWidget Calendar, you can just install this apk (given you're using GO Launcher, of course).

I know some of the colors need tweaking, which I'll do soon.
Note, this does not replace your native calendar.
Enjoy!

Hi ! I would like to theme the gowidget calendar but when I change the topbar image the elements change it's position. The image is the same width and height and I don't know why is happening.
What XML you edit and how you make it ?
What guide you use ?
Thanks !!
Do you have a screenshot ?
The top bar would just be a png edit, not an xml. But post a cap and I'll help out where I can.

See that elements are not in its place. The background is the same as the original only changing the color.
I would like access the guide you follow, because I don't know how to change the font color or the layout for example.
There wasn't a guide to follow. Most of the edits were just reading through the xml files and trial and error.
With the png files, the originals have a large blank boundary around them. You can test it out by filling it all black, including the top bar and backgrounds.
The only guide I had was for the calendar (white) text color, which are Smali edits.

Well, I think my error was editing images without decompile apk. But if I Decompile --> Edit images --> Compile --> Signe = calendar widget not works.
I'm missing any thing ? Thanks a lot
Not a problem. This is what I do, in this order:
decompile, make any xml edits. Then I copy the image folder(s) somewhere else, eg hdpi folder.
Make changes to the copied folders images, not the originals.
Compile with all original images, say No, not a system apk, then say no again at next question.
Find the Unsigned apk in mod folder, open with 7zip or winrar, copy in your copied/modded images.
THEN, sign the apk.

Thank you ! I'm making my theme I really really hate the blue/white stock theme
Looks like the GO team released a GOWidget theme today -- actually a transparent theme! This is cool and will make customization easier, going forward (I think).
As of right now, the theme on the market doesn't work because they have to update the launcher (to 2.39) and the widgets. I'm sure the update will push out soon, but I'll keep the thread updated

Thanks for the info. I going to try it.
I love go launcher but hate the widgets colors, blue and white just throws any theme off, I hope you are successful in iNverting the rest of the widgets...
I have been using the transparent widget skins also...makes life much easier(and they're sexy too). I love Go...it makes having to leave MIUI(no 4g) bearable.
Have u guys seen the official GO team's transparent theme on the market? It's actually pretty nice. I've been picking it apart and will post some variations on the theme.
The package u download from the market includes themes for all of their widgets

Reasons I say this is for cm:
It includes the following files modified from that source:

It may rely upon some of the stock images in cm

Upscaled some folder icons in Launcher.apk to make the "Add to Home Screen" list line up correctly
apparently I originally left some old .thm files in this zip that have caused issues (they have now been removed)
v1.5:
Updated for cm 4.2.9.1
Music and Power widget changes
v1.4:
initial public release
Bugs/Known issues:
I'm not sure if I like the indicators on the power widget. I may have to do some xml edits and get rid of them. See the last row of screenshots for example.
TODO:
See if i can successfully skin HTC_IME.apk solved: this needs to be re-zipped up with no compression havent tried it via metamorph yet
Work on power widget icons/indicators
Find a nice redistributable font similar to AvantGarde, Futura etc (maybe URW GothicL)
Figure out how to make the app drawer background transparent without the "ghosting" etc on scroll
Figure out how to make the live folder contacts background stay transparent when scrolling
i love your taste in music :] and the theme looks really sexy too!

Hey there, I didnt get this problem, but I just had a look at the zip and there was some cruft left over in it (older .thm files) so I have uploaded an updated zip.
Let me know if it works for you!
Also are you running the latest MetaMorph.apk ? Maybe thats why I didn't get any issues and missed this.... (I'm using the market version 1.8.1)
Nice and clean theme. Nice job
Where can I get the background??
The problem is one of your files, doesn't have the .thm extension its thm ... which is why its getting that error.

Hi,
I just checked the current linked downloads and the current 1.6 and 1.4 downloads seem to be okay. ...I did update the original 1.6 file to fix that problem with the .thm file

Hi,
I think it is in the included in the metamorph as:
framework-res/res/drawable/default_wallpaper.jpg
I havent actually checked if that means its visible in "wallpapers"
I got that error too. So after it unzipped I selected existing theme and the .thm file was there, I applied all and it looks like it is missing some pieces, especially the top where battery/notifications/etc are. It is supposed to be black up there and it was gray.

I'm having some problems theming it. I want it to be like the one from BlackMod so I've extracted the one from BlackMod and put it in my theme so it should work now right? But it didn't it just showed the widget but not with the correct bagground etc. Then I took the GenieWidget.apk from the original ROM and themed it plus some pngs that is also in it. Something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

}
but it's still not working :/ This is what the widget currently looks like BTW:
bro, did you sign it after you modded it to ur liking? from your first picture i just see the .9 borders, which are not supposed to be there after you run it through a compiler like Eclipse.

As it is a system apk it does not need to be signed. The borders are because of decompiling and I did recompile again afterwards. Also it does work but it doesn't have the correct layout. That's the issue

I appreciate that but that is not the problem. The problem is that I have themed it (all pngs that needs theming) but it still stays as the matte Power Control Widget. I ask because someone might know if there are some other pngs in some other apks or if I have to edit some XML files or something. I have already created 2 themes so I know how it works (signing, update.zip etc.)

hm, assuming you know that power control widget is in the settings.apk and have edited that, my only other suggestion would be to check the framework because i do not know of any other place where they could be. however, from my experience, i find it always best to edit your apk within your theme (the actual .zip) and then sign that whole .zip if you want to avoid any issues. just my two cents for you. if the xml is stock, there should be no issues as to what is governing the correct .9.png. anyway, good luck .

Hehe it's for the Facebook app I took a themed version for some ROM I can't remember but it wasn't fully themed so I themed the rest myself and of course a lot of the 9 pngs was "broken" from the other themer so I need a totally transparent 9 png for the top thing (appwidget_top_white.9.png). Whenever I do it I just get an alpha error. I've attached the Facebook.apk (the original themed version not the one I themed) if you need more details
Thanks in advance I'll be sure to include you in the release notes hehe

ok sure no problem man. ive attached a fully transparent .9.png with that name. if you want to use it for other pngs, just make copies of the one i attached and rename it to whatever name you choose. good luck . it's there but you can't see it since it's totally transparent. to download it, just right click in the left corner or a little towards the middle of the left corner until you get the option to save image.

--Update Feb 20--
Sorry guys had to remove the link to this theme as requested by sopL87. Please look at my post on page 2. If I have time I'd like to ask NeoPhyTe.x360 if he's let me post an edited verison of his AuraxTSense theme thereby fixing this problem...
--Original Post--
This is my favourite theme because of the transparent look. I really like the alpha transparencies on the status bar so even with a while background it still shows everything. I've updated it to fix some graphics issues that were bugging me...
- Removed black line under transparent status bar
- Created new lockscreen as old one wasn't displaying properly
- Changed "InCall" lockscreen as I think the author forgot this
- Updated HTC Skin Preview
- Resigned APK (installs no worries)
Special thanks to the original author NeoPhyTe.x360 for creating this awesome theme. Also thanks to sopL87 for porting NeoPhyTe.x360's theme over to Desire HD.
----Instructions-----
Simply copy .apk to microSD card and install with a file manger as you would any other app. Using stock HTC Sense UI, open your personalize menu and then select Skin, then choose AuraxTSense.
Enjoy

revolution hd
does this theme works on revolution hd rom?
thx
^^ Um I don't see why not. I mean I've not personally tried Revolution ROM but I have tried this theme on Sense UI, Laucher Pro and ADW.Launcher and they all work. If you are using Launcher Pro or ADW.Launcher for me the only way I could seem to use the theme was to install the .apk file then switch into Sense UI then select the AuraxTSense Skin in under your Sense Profile/Skins. Finally I'd switch back to Laucher Pro or ADW.Launcher and the skin would remain on. My guess is if using a custom launcher other than the stock HTC Sense one you may well need to have Sense installed to select this skin.
is it possible to put down all transparent?

This is exactly what lead me to edit this theme so yeah I can highly recommend doing some editing. Very easy to do. Just rename the .apk theme file to a .zip file and you can open up all the folders and see all the images. Many have sensible easy to find names like statusbarXxxxxx or lockscreenXxxxxx. Use your favourite image editing software or just grab the images from other themes. Then you just need to copy the edited files back into the original zip with the program 7-zip or winRAR and then you'll also need to search for Stericsson's Autosigning tool. The Auto Sign tool resigns the .apk otherwise Android won't allow you to install the .apk.

this is in original AuraxTSense...
Thank you for the "update", especially the <Removed black line under transparent status bar>
I must try
thanks
afetr modification, I can't install my modifed apk
^^ You need to resign the .apk file with Stericssons Autosign tool. Word of advice is DO NOT choose the option in Stericssons tool to install the registry file. If you install the registry file every .zip file you double click to open will instead be signed by the tool and there is no easy way to uninstall. I had to do a load back to a previous restore point in Windows 7 to get rid of that. So the best thing is when opening up Stericssons AutoSign tool is first thing delete the .reg file so you cannot accidently modify your registry. Using the tool you only need to choose the option 4 to manually sign your .zip or .apk file.
If you really run into problems and can't figure it out PM me. I'm happy to send you the autosign tool you or to sign the .zip or .apk if need be... be warned though I'm just about to move interstate so I will be pretty busy for the next bit. I may not have time to go on XDA for a little while, just have to see.
Sorry guys sopL87 has brought to my attention that I've accidently broken the forum rules by not contacting the authors before posting their edited work. He requests that I remove the link to the theme so I have removed the link.
I am moving interstate tomorrow so I'll be busy for a while but I'd like to contact the original author NeoPhyTe.x360 when I have time and see if he would let me post an edited version of his AuraxTSense theme. Again this will take time. If all is good I'll post back here if this is a go.
Sorry guys my bad...
arf bad luck ,
I wait for new info .
Sorry for you .

Hey,
rename the .apk to .zip extract the res folder modify png's as required, then drag res folder back to the zip, overwriting the orig'
then change .zip back to .apk & sign with apk manager
Just a heads up tho... you might be better off using the honeycomb theme as a base, as the classic theme will shrink your icons, unless you delete certain png's, not at home at the mo' so can't check which 1's
Thanks for your reply.
Still could not get this to work,
Im using autosign to sign the APK,
You it just says "application not installed"
Not really sure what im doing wrong with it

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Next, Resize the first picture to 188x152
As you can see i made mine transparent
Save it as iphone_background_3.png inside the "mytheme.wltheme"
Now open the second stock image you want to use as the slider
So now let's make the slider (Hooray), design it like the way you want after that resize to 112x120
Then save it as iphone_slider_left.png inside the "mytheme.wltheme"
Now do the same procedure for the right slider and size it to 112x120
Then save it as iphone_slider_right.png inside the "mytheme.wltheme"
Lastly make a preview of the theme and resize it to 90x90
Then save it as iphone_preview.png inside the "mytheme.wltheme"
Now, lets compile the theme elements that we just made by making a zip
go back to the folder that you have created as "mytheme.wltheme"
and right click to bring down options, next select "add to archive"
This should popup afterwards, change the radio button from rar to zip
Next copy the file, connect USB storage to PC then navigate to your SD-Card
"\data\com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker\themes", paste it there
Now that your theme is installed just click refresh themes
and apply the theme you made
And here is your finished product:
KUDOS !!!! Its in the attatchment if you want
TIP: You can also convert several widgetlocker themes that was made for HDPI, MDPI and port it to LDPI

Hi - I know that, thats not my problem - what I'm looking for is an option to built my own theme from scratch. With more than the option to unlock... so not unlock or cam or phone but unlock AND phone AND cam.
I only find tuts how to change the visual settings of an existing locker.
cheers

hello i have been looking around and it seems no one has been having the problems i currently have been experiencing and i wonder if anyone knows how to fix this?
i've currently been just editing the arrow slider style sliders for widget locker and been saving the background with the regular .png format not interlaced as well as trying it interlaced with no luck as when i zip them up and try to install on my phone they go in like they should, but when i try to use the slider the background doesn't appear when the file clearly was made i'm wondering is there something i'm doing wrong?
oh and my device is the droid 4 and most other sliders i haven't edited work fine

hmm,
what format did you save the whole zip into?
and did you use photoshop?
same prob with the background element.
Sry didn't find anything else to ask my probs... seemly old topic.
Anyways... I have same problem as the guy above mentioned. The background element just don't appear. I even tried to use another theme as a base for new one. I only edited the background pic and saved it as it was. Same problem appears again, no background element visible. What do I do wrong?
I will be waiting for a more in depth tutorial regarding this. Thanks.

It needs a 1x1 pixel at the top of the image as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825553
I had the same problem. I d/l'd the Tron Slider and copy/pasted the image I wanted in photoshop. The problem was that I was deleting the old layer, thus getting rid of the pixel at the top as well. Once I just deleted the image and left the pixel at the top, it worked fine.
