[Q] Nexus s/ Nexus s 4G cases. - Nexus S Accessories

this has probably been asked before, but i just want a quick answer. will all of the nexus s cases work for the nexus s 4G as well. thanks in advance for whoever can answer.

NS4g is a little thicker than gsm NS. I think it's 0.3mm thicker. So it probably won't fit if your case is designed for the vice versa.
Sent from my Nexus S c",)

Seidio's active case will work with both.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G

incipio feather works, however the power button is not centered and gets annoying.
SGP makes cases specifically for 4g
. Nice too

Alright thanks guys!

And what about I9023 (SLCD)? Are the physical dimensions different from NS/NS4g?

Very close to the nexus 4g. I ordered a bunch of cases for the tmo nexus for my friends and they were actually for the i9023. Wouldn't fit their phones but fit my 4g pretty well.

Will this case fit the Nexus S 4G

Its one of those Trident Aegis cases. It says its for the Nexus S 4G, but i didnt know if there was a big enough size different for it to make it not fit. Anyone ever tried?

I'm willing to guess it will not fit. I could be wrong but there is a big enough differance in the NS and NS4G that most cases don't fit both.

I'm looking for a cheap dock for my Spring Google Nexus S 4g LTE. What is the exact model number of that phone I can't seem to find it anywhere. And can anyone recommend which one to get say under $30? I was thinking of this one..

Sinjimoru docks are cool
I bought a sinjimoru dock on ebay.
They are really classy, not expensive, my Nexus S looks beautiful on it and everyone passing by the office stops and is amazed about it !

Seidio surface combo is now out

Seidio has now released he surface combo for the note 2
A link for the lazy.....
http://www.seidioonline.com/samsung-galaxy-note-2-s/8463.htm
The Surface and Active both looks good.
I have the active on my original note. I think when I get the Note 2 I will get the surface. Makes a good combo with the holster.
No colors yet

Will the magnet affect the Note 2 / SPen?
Sent from my Nexus One using xda app-developers app
I don't know about this surface case but the active case for the original note had the same kickstand. I never had an issue with it. The magnet is very weak on that one. Perhaps this one will be the same.

I have the surface case like the design they did for the note except it has a plastic kickstand. I love how easy it is to take apart and has been an awesome case for my evo 3d.
I plan on getting it for the note 2 when i switch over. Now i just need a good cardock like the one they made for the evo 3d too.

I've seen a couple on Amazon for < $10 I might try though.

Ordered this Cimo Grip Back Case Flexible TPU Cover - Frosted Clear for myself and this Otterbox Commuter for my wife.
Diztronic Matte Back Black TPU Case for HTC One (2013)
Just ordered this today. I've bought these cases for every phone I have had and haven't been let down. This piqued my interest because the buttons are cut out so I can use the IR sensor. Sad I can't see the back, but I guess I'll order a bumper if I am not happy.
This probably belongs in the Accessories forum...
however, I have purchased both the Enland flip case (in green) and the Poetic Atmosphere case (in clear/grey) for my upcoming One!

I thought the same thing before I bought mine. It's got a cut-out for the IR sensor, so no worries.

Thanks for that. It's not the most elegant case but after cracking 2 screens on my Evo3D in 6 months it will be worth it.

No problem! The Commuter is a great case. I've had one on my 3D since I got it the day after launch and along w/ my screen protector it's done a great job for me. It doesn't have the built-in screen protector that the Defender has, but that case is too bulky for me.

What case to buy?

I was wondering if someone who has had a chance to use these cases in the real world, what would you recommend?
I work in construction (often from rooftops and ladders from which my OG EVO had its demise) and I need a case that can give my M8 a decent chance at survival.
However I also don't wish to sacrifice functionality.
I owned an otterbox Defender for my EVO LTE, but dragging down the status bar was a huge pain, and the screen protector was so scratched that I removed it and simply added a film cover.
So, anyone got any good ideas?

Well I grabbed a defender for my m8, it seems more streamlined than the evo lte version, I can tell you that you won't have a problem dragging the status bar though.
I always kick out the built-in protectors, imo they end up doing more harm than good in the long run.

The commuter I picked up for $2.09 after a coupon in a Sprint store, it's a very neat looking and sturdy case for two bucks!

I tend to agree about the screen but it also protects a lot of crap getting in when I toss my phone in my toolbelt. Is the holster any better on the m8 vs the evo lte?
I was also thinking about the UAG. Anyone got any opinion how it would hold up?

I'm using the iBlason case with a kickstand in the back.
It was fairly cheap, and it works great.

Well my main problem with otterbox screen protector and the m8 is the cutouts for the speakers. Stuff would get in protector or not, but with protector there's more chance for scratching imo.

I've had stuff get in my case (results of my lte living in my toolbelt lol) and never had the screen actually get scratched. A miracle imo.
Would you say the otterbox Defender is the best? And how bulky and how easy is it to remove? It will get banged up so I tend to use something else on the weekends. Been actually thinking about trying the Commuter or UAG this time.

Well i originally went into the store to repair my cracked screen for my EvoLTE and insurance cost $100 for replacement... Well needless to say I got angry about the THREE replacement phones in 5 days and the store manager hooked me up with some major discounts including a zero downpayment on my M8 a commuter series case MSRP $39.98 here All i had to pay was sales tax on the phone $34.99, and $2.09 sales tax on case... So really i lost like $10 but its a win win for me in my eyes... I also traded in my EvoLTe got $25 out of it... Hence the reason i got the huge discounts...
So i just got lucky on a $2 case...i think they coded it as the cheapest case they could aswell... Just ask them if there is any kind of discounts they can give doesnt hurt to ask!

Doesn't look bad but I don't think it's the protection I need.
Also, the guy is wrong. there is something in a name. Otterbox replaced my case 4 times in a year. That's a big deal to me.
Thank you for the recommendation I just need more.
Think I may end up with an otter again.

I work in construction. A lot of times I'm a roofer. And most days I have my phone (not this one til I find the right case lol) in a pouch in my toolbelt hanging out with nails, prybars, and other items that would love to beat the crap outta my m8.
My og evo took it's demise from a slide down a roof, teetered on a gutter, then a quadruple backflip to the cement about 20 feet down with nothing but a plastic $10 case.
Since then I've had Defender cases. haven't had that happen again, but I hate how bulky it is. And the shield is almost worthless to me after a week on the job it's completely scratched up and the holster is too much trouble clipping on and off while working in the real world.
Anyway I appreciate your help but I'm I'd really like to know if anyone had something they thought was as durable and possibly less bulky.

Not if your in construction or any similar conditions.
I have a case mate naked tough which provides as much protection as the commuter I recently returned but looks much nicer.
I've considered the defender because I too work in industrial construction and my M8 is exposed to dust and dirt and a lot of adverse conditions..
I'd really like a lifeproof style option (waterproof , more importantly dustproof, and still stylish).
I'm the guy you want to here from. I work with at&t and am up and down poles and on the occasional rooftop as well. Suffice to say I can beat up my devices too.......plus I'm a case fanatic. I have a UAG, a Defender, and the Incipio Dual being sold by Verizon. Those are my 3 toughest cases as I also have the SUPCase with frosted back and the clear KaysCase.
It sounds like you need the Defender. It offers hands down the best protection of all my cases and is much more streamlined than previous Defender cases. Its just slightly bulkier than the UAG but has the added holster you can keep it in with the screen covered in your tool belt.
