FastZio speed tweaks beta - Kyocera Zio M6000

I have been working on some performance tweaks for the Zio. These tweaks should work as long as you are rooted. This tweak will include my modified build.prop, my modified ram script by Juwe11, and Spare Parts with my settings for some UI tweaks.
I have been working on a script for flashing via CWM Recovery and it looks like it should flash. This is a beta release it is not final yet.
PLEASE BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING THIS!

OP updated. Beta release available for download.

I flashed it. Works fine so far...in this tweak could you possibly include something that would decrease the wait time from when you turn the screen on til when it actually comes on? That brief annoying 2sec wait is blahhhh.

well mattix i just got it installed and my initial thoughts are no difference on performance, but install was flawless. also i must admit that this is going on after i have already tested juwe11 script. so far benchmarking has shown no difference +/- so that is not really a bad thing. after viewing your tweaks i think most people will have a vast improvement if they have not already been tweaking their system. i will report back in a few days and let you know how things have gone after long term use.

Thanks for the input, I'm glad to hear that the zip flashes... did I mention I made the entire thing on my Zio?
I have been searching XDA and the web for more speed tweaks that are effective for the Zio. I want to include HSUPA but I can't test those settings until I get service with cricket again.
I will be working on an update and would love to see suggestions from the users. Give me your input and don't forget to thank me if this helped you at all.

I was getting a blank page when clicking the link to download the file. I tried right clicking on the link instead and clicked "save target as" and saved it to my desktop and it worked to get it. i'm going to try it on my Zio, I'll let you know how it worked.

I'll upload to XDA as soon as I can get to a computer

Do you need to remove the unmodified script before flashing?
EDIT: ****. I'm an idiot. Nevermind.

In my updater-script I have it set to remove the un-modified Juwe11's ram script then flash my modified ram script.

is the link you have here the newest updated version of your script? I just downloaded it to my phone, If this is the newest version, I already have the old 1 flashed to the phone. I did notice a slight difference with the phone but bit to sure yet. Ill keep you informed

Yes the link in the OP will stay up to date.
Currently I am working on a way to add a new script that I have found that will do the work of AutoKiller. I just need to know which version of busybox is installed in OpenZio 2.1.2
This script doesn't play with busybox 1.19 for some reason but works great with 1.18.2
Sent from my Kyocera Zio M6000 using XDA Premium App

I've got something good coming soon for Zio users. My phone is flying and is super responsive and I'm clocked down to 600Mhz, no lag at all here!
For my next update you will need to have busybox 1.18.2 currently OpenZio runs with 1.19 which doesn't play nice with the V6 SuperCharger script by zeppelinrox.
I have been tweaking the script to work well with the Zio. I'm getting 60Mb+ ram right now. My phone feels new again but better!
I will be testing out some tweaks and adjusting to fine tune everything and I should have something within the next couple weeks.
Sent from my Kyocera Zio M6000 using XDA Premium App

Just flashed today and noticed it running a bit quicker with your tweaks.Nice work, I'll be looking forward to your update.

Not to be a downer, but without and ram script tweaks or supercharger tweaks, Im sitting at 67Mb ram no load (multiple homescreen widgets [fb, elixir, FWP, switchpro, etc...) -- 55-65 full load (2-3 days uptime) -- no lag and super responsive @600Mhz (I keep it there because the overclock messes with the camera focus for some reason...)
I think the key to the zio (running OpenZio ofc) is a _tight_, well managed operating system. Which means formatting every couple months, or sooner if you install/uninstall a lot.
Juwe11's ramscript is a modified version of the sysctl.conf tweaks we worked on for months (with a couple additions for lowmem).
Im interested in this supercharger script, although the 3Mb autokiller takes up is not an issue to me. Free RAM is wasted RAM, remember this. Only when RAM starts to drop below 40Mb or so will you start to notice performance issues (respectively keep in mind). With autokiller settings in combination with androids native memory management system, this never happens (even on my phone, which has been running for 5 months without a reinstall).
@Mattix: I'd suggest just plugging Juwe11's script settings into a sysctl.conf file -- may notice quicker boot times.
Looking forward to your progress with zeppelinrox script.

Spz0, you're the most recognized dev in the ZIO business.
XD
I'd be willing to bet that not alluvus dev noobs would be able to get such great awesomeness from our device.
I'd absolutely suggest this for anyone (like me) who can't live without running a loaded system, and I don't see any harm in installing it on a tightly managed ROM.
Sent from my Droid using XDA Premium App
(I use my Droid while on wifi)

I know the Zio runs alot smoother with a tight system. I want to see how this supercharger script runs on a fresh install, I haven't flashed anything since OpenZio 2.1 with the OC. I had to download the beta for 2.1.2 and sideload everything via Root Explorer since I don't have my laptop back yet.
My system was starting get slow and unresponsive to the point of throwing it at the wall. Now with both scripts running at boot this thing feels better than new.
Sent from my Kyocera Zio M6000 using XDA Premium App

Dont forget the 3G TurboCharger and Kick Ass Kernel Tweaks... lol
How much ram do you have?
Sounds like MegaRAM 1 may work good if 40 mb free ram is your lag level

We've got a good ol 162Mb of RAM to play with. =\

ah... well milestone had 256 mb but on a fresh install there is only about 60mb free at the most.
So on your phone 30mb free when supercharged is lots so the multitasking or one of the balanced settings would work well.

checked the Nexus out
checked the Nexus out and what I thought was correct. It seemed like a vibrant hopped up on 2.3 and the rest wasn't much different hardware-wise.... Now super-curio has proven this assumption to be correct
....congrats and excellent !!!
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it in the other thread,I don't feel like reading through 39 pages when its already almost midnight and I need to wake up at 7am,but as a temporary solution until we get buttons working,as long as they didnt change anything major in the filesystem, you should be able to change the keylayouts file to make vol up and down remapped to home and back (or menu,search,... whatever you want.) I haven't flashed this yet,so someone please let me know if this works. If I remember correctly keylayouts are in /usr/keylayout/ and there should be a few files in there, one of which is the hardware button mapping, open it in a text editor, there will be a bunch of buttons on the left and their names on the right, find vol up and change it to say HOME,find vol down and change it to BACK. save the file and reboot, that should make them work as what you assigned them to.

Same here. Used 2.5.1.2 and 3.0.0.8.
This will not install at all
I may not be a developer but I think I may have an idea on what's going wrong:
1. I think that there's too much being put into the System partition. Correct me if I'm wrong but you're only given so much.
2. I think that the ROM is packaged wrong. When I open up the ROM in 7zip, I don't see the system and boot.img file first, I see a subfolder and THEN the system and boot.img.
Again, I just wanted to give a heads up, I'm in no way educated in this stuff. I'm just reporting as I sees 'em.
Was just gonna say that the structure was jacked. The ROM does seem large as well

For what it's worth, I repackaged the ZIP myself and am installing it at the moment. It requires CM 2.x (I'm using the temporary flashable 2.5.1.2 that was floating around to bypass my already-installed 3.x series).
I think I did it right, but here's the error I get:

At the moment, CWM2.
It is not going to install until the system folder in below 250mb or so.
The OP has it at 350mb.
There is no way the OP even knows whether it even works because it will not install like this.
Thanks for the link in the first post. I'm trying a quick test build that I ported. I'll know if this DHD version is any easier to port in a few mins.
Tough to gain confidence if this is how thread starts. Good luck.

yep thats right folks, i am proud to announce my first beta of android 3.1 aka honeycomb for the streak7
Dont ask how ive managed it because its far to complicated to explain, the kernel alone is a right bodge job and just barely working - courtesy of a mate of mine for that one
ok now for the techy part
Based on Android 3.2 - 3.2 google apps working
everything works and seems stable
performance is INSANE
NO OVERCLOCK ability as yet.
fully rooted and root adb
rebased this 3.2 off of parts of a transformer rom,
usb mounting works automaticly for the INTERNAL tablet storage only, sd card you'll have to plug into pc manually or copy files to from the file manager on tablet.
internal storage is still accessable to android while mounted over usb which is a nice bonus too
screenshots work using the internal screenshot ability.... goto settings > display to enable it then long press the recent apps icon to take screenshot
What Works
Everything that i know of
What Doesn Work/Known Issues
Some reported lockups requiring reset but ive not seen personally
Video Chat works in gtalk but sound is one way, the other person can hear you but you cant hear them, havent worked out why yet
ok now thats out the way we come to the complicated part .... installing it
now this build cant just be flashed through clockwork recovery as it needs to update some critical parts of the device including the primary and secondary bootloaders. so if you try flashing this i suggest making sure streak is FULLY charged and if using a laptop make sure it is connected to the mains power also for safety reasons.
also be aware that you CANNOT just use a pkg to downgrade to 2.2.2 you have to use the nvflash tutorial found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1018809&highlight=nvflash to go back to the 2.2.2 bootloaders and then you can place the latest update.pkg on your external sd card named as update.pkg and flash it using recovery to get back to 2.2
the software we use to do this is called NVFlash and involves booting the streak7 into whats called APX mode. those of you who have read the streak5 forums can think of nvflash as being the same sort of thing as QDLTool for Streak5.
Install Instructions:
1. Download the streakdroid zip from below, this contains all the files and drivers required to flash your device to honeycomb
2. Extract the zip to a folder on your pc - I recommend c:\flash and will use that path in this example
3. Backup your streak7 internal storage if you have not already as it WILL BE WIPED
4. Backup your streak7 internal storage if you have not already as it WILL BE WIPED
5. Backup your streak7 internal storage if you have not already as it WILL BE WIPED
6. Turn off your 7 and unplug the usb cable from it, then hold BOTH volume keys down and connect the usb cable, if done correctly your pc should detect the apx device. choose to update the driver, choose the second option then let me choose from a list, choose have disk then navigate to c:\flash\usbpcdriver and choose the only one it shows (Nvidia boot recovery driver for mobile devices)
7. Double click the Download.bat file in the c:\flash directory and wait a while it will take some time depending on the speed of your pc and usb ports.
8. Once the box disappears hold down power on your 7 untill dell logo appears (can take a little while) then wait for a few mins for some honeycomb tasting goodness.

It's running pretty well I must say There is a power issue though. When the streak is not plugged in and goes to sleep it wont wake(you have to pin reset) or it turns off completely. When it's plugged in this doesnt happen. Probably a voltage issue. Also after a few reboots my launcher would FC on me once right after it boots up. It didnt happen at first but now it FC's once every time it boots
Waiting for some golden honeycomb goodness.

[Q] [ICS][ROM] roms with IA2SD+ script

Hello,
I'm one of the unlucky who used MeDroidMod and got his mic ****ed with the last update.. following by the blatant disregard for an open source community.
I really like the way IA2SD+ handled things tho, I've looked around but didn't find any other rom using it.
Is there any? Or can experts having used a few scripts like that can enlighten me about other and just as nice scripts to boost the internal memory?
Thanks
I don't know internally how iA2SD but it does seem to mount /sd-ext as /data, which basically all AD2SDX scripts do, so amarullz AD2SDX script should do, even though iA2SD is much better
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
Yeah the idea of ia2sd is coming from a2sdx but on my second version with ia2sd app I changed all my script for a more optimized one and still the same idea but with the idea of choosing whitch app you want internal or external. Anyway, for now, I didn't really try my script on other version and medroidmod will continue to be updated event if the thread is closed, our Google code always contain the last version and will continue to update over ota too.
For your mic try 1.4.3 with full wipe first and backup before starting.
First time that don't have mic issue too.
New kernel, new drivers on that version
Thanks timbit123, I'll be sure to check it out. I rolled back to 1.4.2 for now - didn't have much time to full wipe yesterday.
I have to say your script really rocks. Other 2SD scripts usually ****ed up my backups, and restores, and I didn't like the fact I didn't know what was going where. If the 1X was released a few months later, I'd keep on using my N1 for a while thanks to you.
Timbit, I really think your ia2sd is a fantastic solution for our aging Nexus Ones.
Is there any chance it can be made available stand alone so that it can be used with any ROM? You could give it its on well deserved thread on XDA Android Dev forum (will it work on any rooted Android phone?)
Anyhow, could make many people happy
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Yeah as long the rom is compatible with init.d it should work without issue. I will probably make it installable from the ia2sd app. Just need some times to make this out and make tests

Regarding the mic issue, it still exists in v1.4.3 even though I did full wipe and format system before flashing the ROM. I had to wipe cache and dalvik-cache after the phone rebooted and that solved the mic issue.

ok, i'll build a version sometime next week and start a thread in dev section when i'll release a version. Probably it will be only the script because, application can only run in ics, not compatible with gingerbread. need some times to remake that application
That's great news TimBit. Merci!

Speed Tweaks for Blur ROMS

This will only modify what needs to be tweak in the build.prop.
It will not modify anybody else's build.prop work.
This means it can be used after you install a custom ROM and
keep any changes your dev has made to their own build.prop.
I have screen shots of my 3 Mps DSL Line and my LTE.
If it gives any indication about how much more performance gain there is
WiFi gives me up to 2.9 Mbps normally.
LTE gives me close to 30 Mbps normally.
Revision 2:
little less aggressive on the phone itself
little bit better WiFi and LTE speeds
cleaned up TONS of code and named everything!
Also the 2nd version will save a backup so you
can restore your old build.prop if you do not like
the changes that were made from from the tweaks.
AND it should keep the original build.prop.
Mind you, the undoer will only work with version 2.
you can also make a swap file (paging file like windows)
command will be
# busybox mkswap /dev/block/zram0
# chmod 077 /dev/block/zram0
# reboot

it has only been tested on SS211.
I believe there are differences in the way it reads
and mounts the partitions...
what does the error say?

I have tried and failed miserably! I am no means a "true" programmer BUT
I have a work around for the people with SS3. Although it does involve a
terminal emulator which is free and the Google Play Store link is BAM!
I will make a flashable fix in the morning with instructions on how to do it.
I will also have a screenshot of what to type as well. The script will still do
the same thing as the flashable BUT in the terminal (manual way)
Just ran the .sh
I just modified and ran the SH from the command line. Only had to remove one > per file. Thanks, my speed increase isn't amazing, but its solid. You are Awesome.
Is there a way to flash this in ss305 yet or what
No, I'm sorry, haven't time to work on it. right now the work around is through a shell and reboot

Does it have any tweaks for GSM/HSDPA? The 3G is really poor on Droid 4.
