Hey, im from UK and no carrier as i bought the tab unlcoked, so its not tied to any carrier.
I checked those threads and a few others but i dont know which firmware is for the UK unlocked version, can you help?
Can anyone help?
Visit the overcome website. READ THE INSTALLATION GUIDE THEN READ IT AGAIN. First part of ut tells you how to restock your tab. You can use it as a pointer to flash stock ROM you desire.
Thanks for the reply bro, do you know where i can get the stock 2.2 uk unlocked firmware from?
Or can i use the stock gingerbread firmware on the overcome site and it will work ok with that firmware?
Searching for stock rom? Maybe below link can direct you the the right place.

Anyone have this or a dump of one? I flashed mine and want to go back to stock but no one seems to have it.
I'll *pay* for it. I thought I had backed it up before playing around, but I did not do it correctly or something and lost my original FW.
I don't want to have to "kill it" and take it back to T-Mo for a replacement if I can avoid it.
Can anyone help?

If you just want your 3G Internet back, all you have to do is flash the US modem.bin back.
Get it here:

I haven't succeeded in flashing back the whole firmware yet. I'm pretty happy with the Euro firmware.
Me to but i still like 3g better ebge is to slow

Curious would tmobile take it back with the euro rom would they check? What would be best to do or what do they check for, I'm thinking of canceling and just buying contact free from amazon to avoid taxes

I think the op means that the stock firmware is on the Samsung FUS server and can downloaded if you know the URL. This willow people to go back to stock 100%.

I did put the modem.bin back in (thanks for the info/link!) ... it works again but I think I have the bands messed up (was playing with them) and I get Edge then H only.. no 3g.
I still want the full original firmware and will pay for it.

H is 3G, just faster. As far as the rest of the firmware, just wait for an official release, then you can flash it for free.

I just got an SGH-T849 yesterday, still at stock. I was thinking of flashing Overcome 1.4.0 rom and associated kernel. Now I came across this thread with posters frantically trying to go back to stock. So should ileave mine alone? Stock works fine although I noticed some wifi-quirks.
Thanks for your insights.

Hi,
I bought Samsung Captivate in US and now use it in India. I would like to upgrade to android 2.2 official version but am not sure how to do it without using att network.
Would appreciate your help if you can point me to any existing thread or any instructions on how to upgrade.
Thanks,
Vijay
Didn't think there was an "Official" OTA from AT&T. I know Rogers received an update but not AT&T.
If there is you would be able to get it in the Dev forum as I'm sure someone would have created an Odin 1-Click for it.
If you're that anxious to add Froyo, your best bet is to use a port of the Rogers release. I think the latest Cognition has it. Otherwise wait a little longer to see if ATT does release an update and someone will surely create a ROM that you can flash.

For how to install custom ROMs, use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884364
For custom ROMs , there are many..
use cognition based on the Rogers official build
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=912657
Thanks for your response and help. Surprised to know that att has still not launched the froyo version since its' available by Samsung directly.
I am new to this forum and the whole installing custom roms process so appreciate the links.

Hello All,
I have one noob question!!.. I have a vodafone galaxy tab (Spain) and I had it unlocked (from simlock). My question is that when the official gingerbread comes out and I update, will I loose the unlock?? (as in the case of iOS devices).
pardon me for my ignorance on android os.
thanks in advanceee
Really!!! Noone here has any idea regarding this!!
I am amazed to see no reply..

maybe I need some other forums apart from xda..
I havn't gotten the update yet, however, I'm thinking that if you receive your update on-air from vodafone, then simlock would be reactivated. If you update through kies, there's a good chance that your tab will remain open. Just my opinion. Cheers!
Just to confirm from Italy if kies updated only unlocked tabs and not the ones sold by mobile service providers. Just to know if I should wait for the official release or go the overcome route.

If you flash an official samsung rom it will stay unlocked. I don't know about a vodafone.
For your second question I'll suggest you to flash with the italian rom, that's what I did with my french tab.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I've Have my own with vodafone too (unlocked), And I installed the las overcome ROM with gingerbread... It's amazing...
Looking at kies, it says that our tablet can't be upgraded ^^
thanks orion,
I was just being lazy to carefully follow the instructions to flash it myself (fearing to brick it and then post on the Q&A on a bricked tab!!..).
I will try to read the instructions and do it.. can you point out the exact link (as you get a million hits on the subject with google and it becomes hard to choose the right one)
cheers
You'll have to revert back to stock in order to receive an official OTA update. My tab keeps reminding me to update my software but I'm rooted and can't install it. If I do install...it bricks my tab and I have to start all over again using heimdall. Odin to you...
Tbolt meatclaws-talkatap
i.e.. to sum up.. maybe I shall wait a few days/weeks before going the odin route!!
Hi xda-developers,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab (P1000) (hw ver. rev1.2), provided by Vodafone Portugal, and I want exploit the device by installing custom ROMs.
But as you can imagine, I want to be sure that I can revert the device to this state whenever I want. And this is my problem....
I've been searched for tutorials how to do this, but i could not find this specific ROM.
Info after pressing *#1234# :
Firmware Version:
PDA - P1000BUJQ3
PHONE - P1000BUJQ1
CSC - P1000TCLJQ1
Android version is 2.3.6 and carrier is Vodafone Portugal
I also went to a Vodafone forum, and they suggested an alternative by asking a previous version ROM to Samsung (unlikelly): Android 2.2, P1000BUJI4+P1000TCLJI1
I also can't get this one.
Questions:
Do you have any sugesttions where can I get this stock ROM (preference 2.3.6)?
What does people like me normally do in this sittuations on their devices?
Is there any Stock Rom without carrier (directly from Samsung)? Can I install another P1000 stock rom from another carrier (I don't like this sollution) ?
Let me just say this.
You P1000 is no different than all the P1000 talked about here.
Just read all some if the threads here and you know what to do.

Thanks priyana, but I want to preserve the original ROM for a eventual revert, and that's what I can't find in any P1000 thread.

Thanks nurusz, but I don't want how to flash the P1000;
What I want is the stock ROM for P1000, carrier Vodafone Portugal (TCL), no matter what version (2.2 or 2.3) and not-rooted
I have 2.3 now in my P1000 (that was never flashed before (only updated via Kies)).
Does anyone provide me any reliable solution to this?
Thank you!

Unrooting is different from restoring or reflashing stock rom.
Not seeing any Firmware for that build
Which Carrier are you using?

Im currently using Cricket mobile. Previously I was using straight talk. Can I factory reset it? If not what would be a good firmware region to download from. I live in the USA. If I can't put the original firmware on it how can I restore or reflash the stock rom. Would it be easier to just upgrade with the newest firmware?

Since you're in the USA you're never going to receive an OTA for the i9295. Your only option is to manually flash the firmware you would like to use. Just looking at the firmware available on sammobile.com, I'm thinking the German XXUDOB4 firmware should work pretty well. I had XXUCNE5 on my phone and had no problems with it living in Washington DC.
