[stock rom][2.3.6] P1000BUJQ3_P1000BUJQ1_P1000TCLJQ1 - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi xda-developers,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab (P1000) (hw ver. rev1.2), provided by Vodafone Portugal, and I want exploit the device by installing custom ROMs.
But as you can imagine, I want to be sure that I can revert the device to this state whenever I want. And this is my problem....
I've been searched for tutorials how to do this, but i could not find this specific ROM.
Info after pressing *#1234# :
Firmware Version:
PDA - P1000BUJQ3
PHONE - P1000BUJQ1
CSC - P1000TCLJQ1
Android version is 2.3.6 and carrier is Vodafone Portugal
I also went to a Vodafone forum, and they suggested an alternative by asking a previous version ROM to Samsung (unlikelly): Android 2.2, P1000BUJI4+P1000TCLJI1
I also can't get this one.
Questions:
Do you have any sugesttions where can I get this stock ROM (preference 2.3.6)?
What does people like me normally do in this sittuations on their devices?
Is there any Stock Rom without carrier (directly from Samsung)? Can I install another P1000 stock rom from another carrier (I don't like this sollution) ?

Let me just say this.
You P1000 is no different than all the P1000 talked about here.
Just read all some if the threads here and you know what to do.

Thanks priyana, but I want to preserve the original ROM for a eventual revert, and that's what I can't find in any P1000 thread.

Thanks nurusz, but I don't want how to flash the P1000;
What I want is the stock ROM for P1000, carrier Vodafone Portugal (TCL), no matter what version (2.2 or 2.3) and not-rooted
I have 2.3 now in my P1000 (that was never flashed before (only updated via Kies)).

Does anyone provide me any reliable solution to this?
Thank you!

[Q] I9000XXJP0 phone needs I9000XXJP0 firmware?

I have a UK T-Mobile unlocked unbranded Galaxy S (Froyo) which reports the following details:
PDA: I90000XXJPO
PHONE/MODEM: I90000XXJPP
CSC: I90000OXAJPO (KOR)
Does this mean that I need to find/use a "I9000XXJP0 version" gingerbread ROM file in order to flash gingerbread? Or could I flash some other Europe version e.g. I9000XWJVB gingerbread ROM?
I was surprised that this question is not covered in the various gingerbread flashing threads that I have read. No doubt I have missed something that will be staring me in the face once someone points it out..
Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice.
If you don't want to wait for the official update for your phone you can absolutely flash any of the gingerbread roms on this website. Just be sure to read the instructions carefully.
Btw, the gingerbread rom for your phone won't be JP0, that is a froyo rom. They change with every update.

You can flash any firmware buddy no problems, it doesn't have to be country specific. However flashing a country specific modem will most likely have an effect on signal, call.quality etc. Check out doc's thread as I think there is a good guide there.

Thanks guys. Erm so, if you were me, what do you think my best bet is? I'm thinking of flashing what I have found as being the latest offical build of 2.3.3 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901
Modem on that is XX same as my current firmware. Do I need to care about the CSC or anything else? (FYI I've updated my original post above to give the full CSC)
Cook up a rom in doc's kitchen. You can have a very good stock rom or a really good custom one.

Wow, romkitchen.org looks very interesting. However, it says "Install from a 2.3 ROM" so I guess I would need to upgrade to 2.3 before being able to use it, which is a bit strange as upgrading to 2.3 is all I'm trying to do anyway. And it says it beta, so I think I'm better of using the ROM in my post above?
Yes, you have to flash a stock 2.3 rom first to get the bootloader update. They are all beta version of gingerbread. Even the ones that got pushed out recently aren't as stable as the 2.2.1 roms.
When I go to 2.3 it will be from the kitchen for sure.

OK. Well, this story has a happy ending. I've upgraded to 2.3.3 (XEE version) using a guide that someone in the romkitchen irc channel linked me to.
hxxps://docs.google.com/document/d/1KePMB1QUUb_fMhY-RbX_vZEMJGTzpKLZNp6cZ2uOGe8/edit?hl=en&pli=1&authkey=CPPth-IF#
As it says in the guide, all I needed to do afterwards was reselect my provider via the APN settings (easy peasy, just selected "T Mobile" from a short list of UK providers).
Cheers for this post to all who replied - just got a Galaxy S too and wasn't sure if there were any caveats about flashing to a ROM with a different ID than your current one aside from normal GSM radio band for picking america vs rest of world etc.

[Q] New Tab owner - quesion about upgrading to GB

Hi Guys,
I bought a Galaxy Tab P1000N and i have Froyo2.2
I would like to update to GingerBread 2.3 at least but with all the manuals out there, i'm affraid i'll brick it.
This is the info i have:
Model number GT-P1000N
Firmware Version 2.2.1
Baseband Version P1000NUBJM2
Build number FROYO.UBJM7
Can you please point me to the right manual? if it is even possible to update it?
I tried installing the latest Kies from the EU site, but it says my version is up to date..
Thanks,
Roi
can i say if you going to update to gingerbread you should use a custom rom based on gingerbread and the OVERCOME ROM is the best so far as for the battery life is amazing and the tab will be much faster ... head to their thread and read about it and step by step will will find everything you need to know ..
Thanks!
Medoo88 - 2 questions:
1. I need to be absolutely sure that with the specs i gave above, my tab will handle this.
2, Since you're in Egypt, this question is even more relevant: Does the Gingerbread ROM have good Arabic/Hebrew support?
Thanks,
Roi
Shalom
I used this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073854&highlight=tmobile+rom and it worked for me. I used the "with bootloader" methed.
Take your time and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS...I found CF-root 3.3 at another thread and used it.
Good luck.

Did you do it on a P1000N ?
How complicated is it? (not a complete noob at ROMs, but not familiar with tabs nonetheless..)

It started life as a Tmobile Model SGH-T849. After the GB upgrade, it now shows as a GT-P1000.
I am able to make and receive telephone calls with my tmobile sim. I'm very happy with the update. I have no data plan so don't know anything about that function. Very stable and working great.
I'm very new to all this. I took my time, followed the instructions and it work just like they said it would.
Overcome doesn't have Arabic language or locale, but at least two team members are Arabic or Egyptian, so they made a patch that you apply to the Overcome rom for those languages/locale of that region.
The reason kies says you are up to date is samsung hasn't released any new roms in your country.
Any tab with a sim card can be upgraded to 2.3.3.
Get the guide from Team Overcome, read everything twice. You have a windows 7 pc available?
Remember I told you to remember JM2. You'll understand later.
Rangercaptain -
Many thanks. thats the answer i needed.
Although i need a hebrew support and not Arabic, i still think its worth upgrading to.
I'll do the Overcome team patch, and will remember JM2
Yes i have Win 7 on my PC..
[Edit]
One thing i found out on Overcome website, is this announcement:
"Overcome ROMs/Kernels will NOT work with Latin American Tabs (the P1000L/N Galaxy Tabs)/CDMA-Based Tabs (If your Tab doesn’t have a SIM card, it won’t work…sorry!)/Wi-Fi Only Tabs (P1010 models!)"
Am I in the wrong place?

How did you end up with a South American tab in Israel?
Anyway, there are big differences with your N-model, in drivers (for the tv app, and the digitizer). Read it all, and let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the help!

Help Stock ROM upgrading

Hi, I need help understanding ROM upgrading: I have a galaxy ACE S5830L with Gingerbread 2.3.4 (stock ROM) version S5830LUBKPB and reading thru the forums I saw that I can upgrade to another ROM (from different carrier) as long as it's made for the same phone S5830L. So I found on sammobile website a ROM from another carrier (for S5830L) Gingerbread 2.3.6 but with a version S5830LUBKPA.
The only difference I can see is the last letter on the version. So the question is can I install this ROM without messing up the phone. I have done it before with blackberry's but this will be my first with android and I don't want to brick the phone as it is my main phone.
Sorry for my english and TIA.

I'm not sure if its okay to flash a ROM with a different letter.
can't you find any stock ROM that's for your device specifically?

You can flash any firmware for 5830 and 5830L as they have the same hardware. Just remember to flash the modem of your region if you experience connectivity issues.

Yes the "T" in the name is just the Telstra branding, if you follow ausdims rooting thread you will be fine

Thank you
The 'T' in the model number isn't branding. The phone is actually slightly different.
I have a friend who works for Telecom here in NZ and they also sell the I9305T.
He said it is optimised for use on Telecom's network (and obviously Telstra's too) it uses different modems and the antenna is different inside the phone.
They do however use the same ROMs and firmware. Anything intended for the I9305 will also work the same on the I9305T, except modems.

Hello everyone!
New to this forum and new to Android phone. I have searched the whole forum and read through the dev-sections. Also did searches on multiple sites and through searchengines to find out what device model to use in the ToolKit...didn't find any confirming answer to my question.
As I have no posts from before, I couldn't write this in the dev-section, so I chose the thread that was closest to what I was looking for.
Question: What is the correct device model to choose in the ToolKit (I have version 7.0.0).
Information from my "about section"...
Phone: Samsung Galaxy SIII 4G
Model: GT-I9305
Android-version: 4.1.1
Build: JRO03C.I9305XXALK5
Operator: Telenor (Norway)
The options I lean towards since the only choice showing 4G, is number 21 (International 4G).
Problem is that it says it's GT-I9305N and not GT-I9305. It also says (Build JRO03C ALIA) and that does not match to my build either.
Then I look at the (International LTE), which says (GT-I9305)...which is ok.
And then number 14, which says (Build JRO03C ALK5), which is the same as mine...but it doesn't say 4G, which I have.
It might sound silly, but I really dont want to make the wrong choice here and end up having a phone that either "does not work at all"
or "does not work as it should". And before anyone says that I then should just leave it alone, my only intention at this point is to let
my anti-virus get root-access, so that the firewall works and the anti-theft works.
Hope anyone can be of help and thanks in advance.

Ok, so I rooted my device yesterday after reading through like 10 more threads...just took a chance, thought to myself "guts and glory" and went for it..went well =) I chose option 14 the build was the same as mine and it worked like a charm.
I am still left with a few quesitons though...might not be relevant to the thread anymore...
Does the rooting share the same build-match requirement as the flashing of a new operatingsystem?
How do I uninstall apps that were preinstalled on an operatorlocked phone?
Anders - Norway
I think you should look for app in app store, Root App delete or something like that. Then search for you operator apps/files and remove.

1. Bootloader is allready unlocked
2.For how to root look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255190&highlight=how+to+root
3. Flash custom recovery, would advice this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxZf39vI0Lc. Download the .tar.md5 and flash with Odin in PDA.
4. Go to the CM thread and download the latest nightly and Gapps (Google apps) and place on the sdcard.
5. Go in recovery and wipe cache, dalvik cache, format system and data factory reset and then flash the CM rom and Gapps right after another without rebooting, reboot and you`re done.

Flash different fimware

Hey developers,
I allways used to have HTC's, but now I have a SGS I9000. With HTC I know my way with flashing and stuff but now I got an issue. I don't know if this will brick my phone and I can't find too much information about with the search function.
So here goes, I got a hungarian I9000 from a friend, though I'm dutch. Now I want to update the phone to android 2.3 but there are no PAN (hungarian) updates available from Samsung, I tried the registry key hack with KIES but then my phone would disconnect as soon as I would start the update. Then I realised I could flash firmware with 2.3 from another compatible phone version, like the Dutch one. So I downloaded KIES and the dutch firmware but then I realised that if the firmware is not compatible with my version of the I9000 I would probably (hard/soft)brick my phone.
Also, when I put in *#272*IMEI# there is no option to choose between countries for me, which I read all over the internet there should be.
So please advice me in flashing a new stock 2.3 ROM, I really want it to be stock android
Thanks in advance
Somewhere in here is a guide for flashing stock jvu 2.3.6 with Odin it only takes 5 minutes once you have downloaded everything
