Hello, I posted in the Vidrant but no luck... I have Uverse from AT&T and my brothers iphone has a app that controls the DVR I just got my tv guide from them and its showing a app for the captivate... Would love to have this app. Trying to find out if the app is out and if some one could post the apk.
Thank you for your help with this!

Hey, I work for AT&T and as of yet, no U-Verse app for us androidians. Only iPhone and Blackberry at this time. I'm told it is in the works.
Ok Thank you

I am kind of put off that there's an app for the Windows 7 ATT phone that isn't even out yet. The Android version has been "in the works" for a while now.
The U-verse app is available for the Captivate.

Works for more then just the captivate. HTC incredible and others work too. Get the apk at irtehun.net if u don't have ATT

Very cool. Very easy to navigate and see what is on.
APK
Attached is the apk but read the press release posted a few posts up as it only works on certain devices right now according to the press release.
Going to try this on my vibrant , will post results.
EDIT: Works!!!!!
I just d/l it in market. Does anyone know if it currently works without having u-verse at home? I thought i read for win phone 7 that u wouldnt have to pay for it if u already had it at home would be included.
Im all for paying just didnt see anything on account management for it.

What are you going to use it for if you don't have u-verse service?
I can confirm that this works on an EVO and Incredible.
They said on windows phone 7 it would beable to d/l movies to watch and said would be free if u were a u-verse home user. Like as in u could subscribe to the mobile service to watch movies from it like ondemand

I read that where Windows Phone 7 is concerned that if you don't currently have U-Verse service at home you'd be able to pay some sort of fee and use the limited version of it on your phone. But thats all that was said about it. We can assume this might be something exclusive to WP7 as it appears that AT&T is putting a lot of weight behind the platform.
As far as the Android version, I have U-Verse, and have yet to find any shows or movies that I'm allowed to download to my phone for later viewing. It first requires activation of the service via "manage account", which I did after getting errors the first few times about their systems not being ready or whatever. Then when it worked, I went into my DVR and could download NONE of the programs I have recorded. Apparently downloading is limited to a certain selection of programs. Unfortunately theres no information about what shows, channels, etc can do this.
UPDATE: Ok...so theres very few shows that are available for download. Most of them are Disney Channel stuff, few Animal Planet/TLC/Discovery Channel shows, some ABC stuff.
From ATT Uverse on Facebook:
If you click on the Library tab on the app, you should be able to see what shows are available. That said, we're working on getting more and more programming available on the app. Thanks!

Download content is only available if you have the U300 package. 100 and 200 are not able to see anything beyond their DVR content.
Works great. Glad to see AT&T is supporting Android a little bit.
The app works MUCH better than the web page on the captivate. As for the downloadable content, until they get stuff on there that is actually interesting, I'm certainly not upping my uverse package to the U300.
I do hope that they get it to the point where I can stream my DVR recordings to my phone. Now THAT would be sweet!
Another bonus, a friend has the U300 package. He let me use his account login info to watch the downloadable videos as needed. NICE
I talked to a main att guy over all the stores where i live, and he said that the mobile service is strictly for Windows phone 7 its exclusive right now that u dont need home u verse for it and u can d/l stuff from web with it only on wifi though. and that if u have u verse at home its free and of course can access all that stuff to.
All other phones including iphone will only beable to use app if you are a home u verse user no mobile service for any of those. Windows phone 7 comes with it in a tile and its a feature to enable to d/l content from att's u-verse, i guess on demand stuff.
i tried to download and use this on my samsung moment with no luck
Hi - I just purchased a HD7, have a Android phone (HD2) and Blackberry Bold, but wanted to know if there is anything working for wifi calling.
I know this does not have UMA, but wifi calling like Skype or Google Voice?
The marketplace in Windows 7 I don't like because I don't think I see a sort feature by like 'free' vs 'paid' , etc.
I don't see Skype, see some 3rd party Google Voice stuff with bad reviews and don't see Google Maps.
The TeleNav on the phone from T-mobile requires a monthly subscription which i don't want.
Anyone know apps/etc. that are out there that would suit what I'm looking for here.
Thanks
the best free app I've found for navigation is "xMaps". It's pretty clunky and seems to lack turn-by-turn navigation but at least it works as a basic map. There might be something better availble as far as paid apps go, but I never venture into the paid apps section becase I'm cheap
I hope the app selection gets better with time and that T-Mobile finally rolls out that damned NoDo update!
EDIT: Also, there is a way to sort the list between Free and Paid apps. When you've selected the category of apps you want and the list has been populated, swipe the screen to the left 3 times until you reach the "Free" section.
I've just got an Hd7, 16gb. At first i thought this looks good but is absolute rubbish after my HTC touch pro 2-- can't sync with my PC, can't have TomTom, can't have Google Maps, can't have Opera or Skyfire or Firefox, can't have BBC iPlayer, can't have PDF reader or Flashplayer. What's wrong with these people at Microsoft, don't they know how phones are used!???. BUT is IS a very good phone and very nice to use, has a great screen and plays videos well. I've found you can sync it rather awkwardly via windows live and skydrive. Why do they want to make life more difficult?
I believe the features you mention that are lacking are to come in future updates.
Remember... as far as OS goes, WP7 is just a baby learning to walk. I had to wait for flash on my Galaxy S from the froyo update and iPhone will NEVER have it so as far as those features go... hold your horses. Lol...
I love my android and I am really liking my hd7 as well for different reasons. Once the updates start to come you will be pleasently surprised I believe.
PS... you can sync the phone via PC through Zune. Download the software and follow the instructions...

Not if your on a Mac like me. Good thing I also own a PC but this HD7 still sucks ass! Good thing I still own all my Android phones tho. The only time this phone comes out my pocket now is if I wanna watch NetFlix. Other than that my SIM card will be in one of my Android phones getting me thru the day.
you can also sync on a mac look on mac appstore for Windows Phone 7 Connector.

Well... I hope that once the updates start rolling out that u will have a better experience . I kept my Galaxy S for the sake of being able to customize it and stuff and I got the hd7 for its simplicity and class. I think that this will be one of thebest devices ever once ms starts to roll out the updates and if the hd2 is any indication... I think this will be the next HTC superphone once the devs start working their magic.

Thanks for that. I can live without some of the previous stuff but I need TomTom also I need a program like WMwifirouter for this OS. I've been using my TP2 connecting my laptop wirelessly to the Net when away for over a year now and it's a great little program. Anyone know a way with an HD7 to use it as a modem?

90% of the things you list are third party applications. It isn't that WP7 CAN'T have them, it's just that at less than 6 months old, it DOESN'T have them... yet.
Did you actually LOOK for Adobe Reader? Cause it's there in the marketplace and has been forever.

I like your optimism but the facts are a bit more complex than that; the marketplace is available only in 20 countries (roughly 10% of the total) and this is a very serious issue.
Take iGO 8 for instance, it was developed by the Hungarians, do you honestly believe they will commit resources to port their brilliant software to a platform not even available in their native country?
I want to have a state of the art OS but WP7 is so crippled that is no match for the competition.
I still hope for a better future for my HD7 but when? When?
Just curious, I just got a sprint tab with data. Thought I would use it more, but my epic 4g does every and it more portable. So do you use for work, play, school or something else.

I use it for getting my emails (work mainly), some games, movies i've ripped from my dvds, storage for my photos from my htc touch and my galaxy s.
Sometimes i use it for twitter, facebook, and even browse once in a while .
Oh, XDA forums too
I have a GalaxyS as well, and while i agree that it does everything and is more portable, i still prefer the bigger screen when typing (now that i have the thumb keyboard on the tab, it is so much easier to type with my thumbs now)
all daily tasks, including phone call, sms/mms......
I use mine just like I would use a laptop. I have my desktop setup for remote desktop and I like using it to browsing the web for extended periods of time. I take classes online it's great for watching/listening to live chats (since it has flash). I also watch streaming videos and dvd rips...and now I can watch Netflix and do Skype!). Download torrents on it...use it as a stand alone GPS receiver (use Co-Pilot for offline maps) . Play games on it (as I don't really like playing games on my Evo b/c of the smaller screen... I prefer the 7's)
I rarely use the camera however with this latest Gingerbread update I may start using Skype more. I hope they update the Google Talk to include Video soon, then it might be enough to keep me from getting a larger Honeycomb tablet as soon. I still want the 10.1 version...but for now the 7" Galaxy Tab is perfect for my needs.
Oh...and I use it as wi-fi only (the service was cancelled since I can tether for free from my MyTouch 4G)
I totally replace my old xperia x10 mini with this beauty... i use it most for play ps one and some gameloft games... also as a notebook replacement, as a phone... enjoy music and videos... some chat too.
Sent from my Latin Overcome Experience ;D
This tab already replace my laptop and my htc sensation..2 in 1..lol love it!!
do the daily works... emails, sms, phone calls, browsing, game and XDA
I use mine for browsing the internet in the living room, or reading/writing emails. The most used app is actually the IMDB app as I find the initial screen with trailers for up-coming films very useful (and a joy to use!)
I recently got a SGS2, so the tab has been sat round not doing much for a while, but I'm slowly coming back to it.
It's also great for long train or coach journey. It's the size of a portable DVD player, so great for films/TV, and gaming is lovely on it! Especially with the great Gameloft games that came for free when I got it.
I use my tab a lot for reading. I have a lot of books and articles in various formats like pdf, djvu, kindle and the tab is small enough to carry my library everywhere and big enough to comfortably read and browse.
The big screen (compared to a phone) is also a plus for watching videos, gaming and browsing desktop version of websites.
I also use it to listen to internet radio and mp3, record photos and videos and as GPS device. I use my laptop now just for things where I need special software (like Odin ;-)) or a real keybord.
I really love this device and it clearly exceeded my expectations.

I just buy one new in France for 150€ without contract (very very good deal), and I'm very please with it.
I use it as my primary phone with a Sony MBW600 bluetooth headset.
Lot of game (just finished plant vs Zombi) and multimedia use : 3 episodes from Games of throne, with subtittles, and it was very nice.
So I root it, put overcome 2.0.1 and desimlock !
I go often on the web and check my mails with the stock Samsung application which is very nice.
One of the best thing i ever had...
I us it mostly for couch browsing (I'm too lazy for powering up laptop), emails, youtube and kindle
I rearly play games or other stuffs, but I will probably use it for skype video calls when upgrade to gingerbread

The Tab plays movies you can get from torrents just great with no conversions needed. Getting them converted to play on my iPad is a royal pain. So my Tab goes with me on the airplane as my portable movie player. Also works great for email but for browsing the web I prefer the larger screen of the iPad.

Well I have an old plan with Sprint since 2002 which is sinfully cheap and they'll force me to triple my bill if I want any current smartphone (using a Treo Pro) right now.
So I scored a Verizon Tab 7 new on Craigslist for 200 and get my Android fix that way. Actually at the doctors office right now tethered via wifi. Use it for web/email/music/so forth.
Might invest in the $20/1gb plan down the road.
Actually prefer it this way. The 7" screen is big enough yet size is pocketable to carry around.

love my tab for reading all my ebooks and digital comics, streaming slacker and youtube when i'm running around, and the occasional angry birds..
Everything i can do with a phone and a laptop.
But have passed the tab on to my wife now.
I use it in my classroom because much of the internet is blocked, to show video, or pictures, and to show calculator useage lessons.
I use it in Mexico to interview families using an app I wrote. I take a family photo, and get the gps coordinates, record the answers to the interview, then save the data as an .xml file, and export it to our database, where our families are posted to a google earth map for American churches to select and commit to the project of building a free home for these very poor families.
Quick browsing at home
Remote desktop when commuting
News weather etc commuting
Soduku commuting
Browsing etc.
Extensive email....you guessed it: commuting.
Purchased vzw with intent to cancel data...but use it easy too much. Would never get one without a wireless data plan now.
On train 2+ hours every day.

Watching Movies (DVD/Blurays Converted using DVDFab)
Playing Games (too many to say)
Email
Hiking GPS (via Gaia GPS)
Browsing Web
Streaming Netflix (now that GB update is out for my Sprint Tab)
Ill b using my newly acquired Tab 7 as my in car entertainment ill still use it around the house for browsing n playing games though. Im in the process of removing my current stereo, starting to be impractical to have to remove subs n amps when I take my car onto the racetrack. So having a tab will be great, covers my music n video, n ill only have to run a small amp for the speakers. Ill post up pics when I get it all done

Make an account using a proxy, after that you can just use google music freely. Anyone can share the new google music apk? I heard it's already available on the market but since we are from Europe it doesn't show up for us.
probably in about 2 years
Not sure on that one. I'm really liking where Google is going with their ecosystem. I didn't expect their store to have this many albums I needed (still looking and buying ) since I don't have mainstream musical tastes. I guess I'm gonna be upgrading to another android phone soon.

Do you still have to upload ur music via music manager? Or does the music manager simply compare your songs to those in its server and comprise your Google music collection based on the songs that match its database? Waiting days to upload thousands of songs just doesn't cut it.

Google would have been much better served to come out with something more along the lines of iTunes, a program you install on your computer and tell it what folder to watch for your music and a few minutes later, there is your 10k song library! Not to mention the stupid music manager issues. The very first time I installed Google Music to my computer I got some stupid "can only use 3 accounts on this machine" error and I couldn't upload my music until I found a workaround.....change the Mac address of my ethernet card. That's pretty weak. I think Google missed the boat with this one.
how fast does the streaming work on verizon's 3g? any hiccups in loading?
Overall, it's a great service. But Google made some mistakes,
1) No matching service.
2) Should have gone at least 25k songs to match iTunes match.
3) Not available outside the U.S.
4) Can't buy songs from your phone... yet.
The sharing and independent artists features are impressive though. And best feature of all.. IT'S FREE.
So now that this is released does anybody know if they will ever have an easy sync like iPhone and iTunes for our Android phones?
Songs you purchase from google don't count towards the 20k song limit. So, that really isn't much of an issue, IMO.
I love how they do carrier billing for tmobile, too. Guess it will come to other carriers soon.

1) a one-time issue when first uploading and only IF you own a lot of music. Just leave PC on overnight once and you're good.
2) iTunes cloud isn't free and then it still eats up all your local storage.
3) Will be soon. Plus you can use a proxy to get around it.
4) New market is being delivered as we speak. Not an issue, just takes a few days to push the app out to 100million+ users with varying phones and networks.
The sharing, artists, g+, is all awesome.
My only issue is that android app is still a little cumbersome and has an occasional issue with shuffle feature and replaying of same song. lol.
I know this isn't really N7 related, but i noticed it more today when i received my N7. Google music STILL isn't available for UK users. It's been public in the US for nearly a year now. Google need to step up their game. Really disappointing. Sorry for ranting but pretty pathetic it's taken them this long and they still aren't any closer to making it available to people outside the US.
North America isn't the only place people buy you're products Google!
Blame the studios and all the work required for licensing.

Apple worked on it for years before managing to strong arm the studios. It will happen, but right now the mindset must be "well, we have our stuff on iTunes. Don't all them young folk have iPhones?"
And yes, all music executives are out of touch elderly men who don't know that not all touchscreen phones are iPhones.
Not only music, we can't buy films either, only rent.
With the Nexus 7 being so Play oriented I would have hoped they would have struck some kind of deal by now.
Hey
Its not hard to do, just use something like hotspot shield, sign up, then once its done, you wont have to do it again, it'll work. I did it when it first came out and its been working ever since.
It is a shame though, you guys in the US have a lot more
I used tunnelbear (free) signed up and setup in 10 mins, working on my phone and n7, just glad i have an unlimited data contract :victory:
As the others have said, use a VPN to sign up. That is the only time (except for if you try to purchase muzak) that Google checks your geo-location. After that you can start uploading your music and playing it with the app on your 7.

I think its probably the bpi blocking them. They are not happy that google isn't more proactive at removing what they consider copyright infringing sites from their search listings. Maybe googles new policy to move sites down the search rankings will mollify them.

You just need to use it on a pc long enough to go to music.google.com and register. Then you no longer need a proxy unless you want ti try and buy music, buying music though needs a us payment card.

I gave up on Google Music when I realized just how terrible my DSL upload speed is. I didn't really care to have to wait days upon days for my music to upload to Google, so I just rsync'd it to my server right here on my gigabit LAN and fired up Subsonic. Once I donated a few bucks to unlock the premium mobile streaming license, I was golden.
Note: DDNS would be a severe +1 in this scenario. I already had it set up, so I could point to my specific URL instead of my IP which Verizon changes every other day anyway.
Used tunnelbear to sign up and working fine on my N7 but the market won't install onto my HTC sensation because of the device country - do I just need to sideload (given my google account is now music enabled?)
