Have a look to Surface

Imho all gingerbread roms are inferior to froyo roms in terms of battery life, if battery life is important stick to froyo roms... if u want performance and looks go for simply honey rom(gingerbread)..
Don't go for 2.3.3 based rom if you are concern about battery drain. Other than that, choose any rom that suits you and get a battery efficient kernel will do. =)

I was curious about which rom gives the best battery life. i have used Cyanogen Rc3 and Rodriguez's rom and both of them drain my battery life more then stock. i was wondering if there was a rom that improved the life of my N1
Test Enomther's, he's the closest to stock. You can use wildmonks' UV kernel for extra effect.
Hi,
Just wanna know people's experiences with roms and battery life?
Which one is the best ? This is subjective but generally speaking which one stands out.
Also, does Froyo have the vodoo battery life - where it just disappearrs? Had this once on mine. GB is better ?
Cheers
I have used stock Froyo and stock Gingerbread, and in my opinion Gingerbred is more better than Froyo in many things.

Overcome Gold , as Far its very good with battery life and its much better than the stock gingerbread
Stock is better because the latest oc has overclock which seems to make my gt warmer. As electronics is my profession I know that heat is a major stress factor for components.
I also share the same opinion as thepitbull regarding overclocking.
You can also use setcpu to underclock but for me I'd rather stick to simpler means.

In case you do undervolt only, that should help you battery life?
I'm using Overcome RC1, Gingerbread, and I need to reset the battery and the battery stats, since battery life seems nearly only 25% of stock.
However I know that once this is done, the batterylife is very good.
I will check out beta3 Honeycomb tonight or tomorrow when it gets released, was quite happy with the batterylife of HC Beta 2
Which one is the best Rom/Kernel combination for battery life? I am currently using latest cognition build but I am not happy with the batter life. Any advice?

Their really is no answer to your question. Its all opinion. Cause not all phones, rom, and kernels elect are the same/equal. They are all different and they perform differently. So the best thing to do is test them out for yourself and find the one that meets your needs.
Gingerbread ROMs has more battery drain than Froyo based ones.. wats your battery life?

I agree. I get much better battery life on GB roms then Froyo.
Hello, I am currently using MIUI but it sucks for battery life. I want to flash a stable rom with long battery life, and nevr to forget about flashing (because I will sell my phone to a friend of mine very soon and he is noob in all of this things like roms). What would you recommend?

I had amazing battery life with Pinnacle. 24+ hr easily with medium-heavy usage (very subjective, but 100x better than MIUI, CM7)
I flashed serendipity 6.4 on my mother in laws phone in july and I have yet to have to do anything with it except the things she messes up, like losing the app drawer icon. I also ran the rom on my phone and it had great battery life.

Generally speaking native roms offer the best battery life over all (KH3, KI#, KJ#,KK#, etc). But like mentioned before very subjective. This thread will probably be closed due to the nature of it.
If you are giving it to a friend that is not into roms. Stock is your best bet. Don't want them to have to deal with the issues of a custom rom. Like drivers and app compatibility issues in AOSP roms like CM and roms like MIUI.
Which 2.2 ROM for the Milestone is the fastest, but also has great battery life? One that will withstand running apps smoothly, but not killing the battery so quickly.
any rom 2.2 to 550-800mhz overclocking increases battery life 2 days straight ... I recommend Rom rentail brazil .. Froyo 2.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007493&highlight=brazil this one?
yeah .. but I do not have the link to the ROM
In my opinion TheFroyoMOD is the best one.
CM6 is the best Froyo-based ROM, however CM7 provides better battery life and performance, compared to Froyo.

You can get either fastest or great battery life, not both... Stock Froyo is better in the battery life department than anything else, some roms are close, but even with undervolt and turning off radios/3G when not needed, stock froyo battery life is better (and can get even better by doing the exact same thing)...
Altough, it is not as smooth as Froyomod or CM6 or CM7....
You will have to either give up a little bit of battery life, or a lot of smoothnes.... My Milestone is running CM7 and I think that it is, overall, the best option for it.
