whats with "bro"

what's with the whole "bro" calling deal?
I havent been huge on forums for about 3 years until i found this site for my phone. now i come on here atleast 4 times an hour.
but ive noticed that the new thing is to call everyone bro. at first i thought it was an insult because where i live "california" it's an insult to call someone a bro
ie. everyone makes fun of the "bro" seen like sideways hat wearing dirt biking big truck lifted high enough to need red airport lights...
am i missing something with the bro deal?

Ah, my friend from Orange. These guys just don't know about the So Cal "bro".
Ambiguous and Skin shirts, Famous hats (sideways, of course) and West Coast Choppers sunglasses. The mandatory F-350 with the 13" lift and 57" mud crawlers. Two dirt bikes in the bed, can't forget about those.
Either that, or driving like an idiot in Daddy's Yukon Denali or Escalade EXT, cutting you off and being a moron with his three other bro's in the truck with him.
Strange little microcosm we have down here.

What the hell is wrong with you man? I currently reside in Long Beach CA, and used to live in Orange CA. Bro is not a sign of disrespect at all, do you go outside and interact at all? I would say no offense but this is F-ING RIDICULOUS!!! The real question is if the whole crackling noise my rice krispies make is trash talking, cuz I think it is LOL.

Yeah man, we all want to be black I say Bro all the time and I do not fit the description of what any of you guys listed. I am not exactly rich, dont have a lifted anything, and sure as hell don't want to be black. It is totally completely dependent on how the word is used. If I say " whats up brotha, or bro" that is an act of friendliness. If I say "F_ _ _ you bro" that is something you would punch someone in the mouth for. Just learn to read people better and you'll no what there intentions are.

First off, I think you are way off base. It seems to me that you are the one stereo-typing.
I for one have 3 lifted vehicles, all 4wd, because I like to play off road. One 1973 Jeep CJ5, one 1988 Ford Bronco and one 2006 Jeep Wrangler. I also have 2 dirt bikes and 2 quads. I used to race motocross and still enjoy riding and nature. Have you ever tried getting away, outdoors, on your own all by yourself. I also wear a hat about 60% of the time but it is never sideways. Always straight forward unless I turn it around backwards to keep it from flying off while riding with the tops off of my Jeeps. I also own a Ford Expedition, not lifted, standard mostly as a matter of fact, married and with a 5 year old son who loves to ride as well off road whether it be in the 4wd or on his own quad or dirt bike.
Maybe you need to step outside sometime and get some fresh air and quit your stereo-typing.

Only tried it just as I logged on, and your thread was the first thing I (incorrectly) read. It's off now already I like how unique this place looks, and not too bright (harsh on the eyes).

Defenitly, plus the new theme makes everything bigger!

So this kid pushed me at the weight room today. He's like, my size and another half of me on top. He was in my face but looking down at me. I was trying to stay calm so I did nothing until he pushed me and I pushed him back and then my friend stepped in. It was good bro. He's annoying he wants me to leave the team but I will never do anything to make him happy. I will tackle him tomorrow at practice and show him who I am.

True. Very true. For someone who lives in Europe, I wasn't expecting football advice lmaoo. I thought you guys didn't play it?

I don't play I used to play football (soccer) but I put that on due to an injury to my thigh, it swelled by 17cm... Bit uncomfortable to say the least. I narrowly avoided an emergency op (Google compartment syndrome)
I used to watch some on TV and learn though - I also enjoy the odd bit of Madden.

Let's all have a moment of silence for my teammate and close friend who was recently injured at practice today.
We were doing some Oklahoma's and he traded places with me in line, went up agains some kid, and landed on the ground with his leg sticking up in an uncorrect angle. Had to call the ambulance and everything.
I didn't like this kid at first, but lately, he's been really cool and we got pretty close, and I will miss him for the rest of the season.

That sucks. And I bet it hurts.

Well I have to say I never thought of it like that, but they are good at invading my mind. They also seem to get better at it if I already have a girl. I'm not sure if that's my fault or if they do it on purpose. As for how to deal with it. I wish I knew how because so far it doesn't seem to be working.
