Hey guys and gals,
I'm headed to England in a couple weeks (I live in Canada) and I'm wondering if I would be able to use my Telus Milestone, rooted w/FroyoMOD 2.9.1, when I get there? I was hoping I could just switch the baseband, and use a prepaid sim, is this doable?
Thanks in advance for any and all help provided by the kind members here at xda.

Hi folks. I'm visiting from the CDMA Hero section. My friend has G1 he doesn't need and I want to buy it off him it it can be unlocked and used in Europe (Barcelona and Paris) with something like a prepaid SIM card. As I mentioned, I'm visiting from the CDMA forum-- I've never had a GSM phone and don't know a thing about unlocking.
I've searched the stickied threads and general forum but nothing stood out. This possible? Worth it? I'm no stranger to custom roms or Android.
Please advise. Thanks.
It's possible and very easy, somebody just needs to call T-mobile and request an unlock code. Usually they send it within a week. Please note that you will not get 3G in Europe (99% sure) as they use different frequencies. You will still get the edge network.
It's up to you to decide if it's worth it.
BTW, canadian Dream should do just fine in Europe with 3G (once more, 99% sure)
Good luck.
thanks. that was painless.

Hello there. Ive been lurking around here for a while but this is my first post.
I have tried searching around but was unable to find the answer I needed, if its already been solved can someone please point me in the direction?
I purchased my Bell Samsung Vibrant from Craigslist and it came Sim unlocked. I was curious how I would go about re locking the phone to Bell so I can take advantage of the extra 2 year warrenty that was provided when the phone was purchased. The device is working fine, but since I'll be using this only on Bell (got Grandfathered into an unlimited data plan woo!) theres no need for it to remain unlocked.
Thank you!
edit: nevermind I've figured it out
Hi ! How did you do that please ?
I recently sold my Motorola Droid 4, which before I did, stock-rooted it with ICS 4.0.4 the leaked version. My question is, the person I sold it to wants it to be used with Metro PCS, which I'm not sure if it can. I've been searching everywhere and can't find an answer. I just want to make sure that it is able to be flashed so it can work with Metro PCS and if it can't work if someone could please let me know. If any other info is needed for this, please let me know. Thanks in advance for anyone's help!

It is unlikely to work as the phone is designed for worldwide roaming. In the USA it's locked to Verizon.
Can you pick up a cheap pay as you go SIM from MetroPCS and test? Do they even do PAYG SIMs in the USA?

Thanks for your reply! That's what I was afraid of hearing, however. I'm going to check into it a little more, because I really don't know if they do PayG SIMS here. Hopefully I can find out. Thanks!
Noob here.
Just purchased a xt875.
Was told to take the phone to a dealer to have it programed to use.
Is that something I can do myself.
Current phone Infuse 4G rooted and unlocked using Cyphermod 4.2.1.
Any help appreciated.

Hey all,
I was originally going to get a LG G2 but I recently changed my mind as some of the features of the Moto X and it's near stock ui has me very intrigued. The problem is that I live outside of the US and I was wondering if the T-Mobile GSM Unlocked version that is available on Motorola's site is truly unlocked and if I would be able to use it in my country. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry I just noticed that I posted this in the wrong section. Please forgive me.

There are loads of topics talking about this, give it a search!
It is truly unlocked. In posting on a TMo Moto X right now on a different carrier. They're basically the same as the developer edition.

I really want to know it shows 4G or 4G LTE of your XT1053 at Malaysia, thanks!
It should be LTE. It's the Verizon version you'll get screwed with on the LTE outside US. Afaik the T-Mobile version is global LTE. But I'd need someone to confirm
