DualRomX2 4 Roms on emmc! No SDCARD! - Thunderbolt Themes and Apps

Has anyone tried THIS on the Thunderbolt yet? It should work and would be alot faster than the bootmanager which installs the roms on the SDcard versus the emmc internal memory.

It's been discussed before. We would have to modify this for TB and that would take time... unless a dev wants to pick it up boot manager is the only option. In my opinion bootmanager works great!

You moved those apps to SD and they're not designed to be moved, by any chance?

you know that might be true i did do some move to sd card before i wipe and rebooted into the new rom... thanks
o by the way how much room does the nexus one suppose to have to store apps??
I think it depends on its capacity.
The internal flash memory is 512MB. You can expand the SD card to 32GB.
Nexus has ~190 MB for applications, their data and Dalvik-cache.
The best way to avoid that limit is to use Apps2SD+ (DarkTremor's, for example), or use a custom ROM that has it already implemented. Froyo Apps2SD doesn't help too much, and there are several problems with it when using custom launchers (ADW/LauncherPro), one of which you most likely saw.

Low Memory Should I Root?

I finally hit low memory on my N1 with only 20mb left I already moved all the apps to SD and clean cache and history. Now the question is does rooting solve this problem and how much more memory do you get ? (depending on the rom) Is there any solution without having to root the device? Thanks
Rooting by itself won't give you anything. You need to root and install A2SD or any other similar program/app, including a kernel that supports it and repartitioning SD card - and only then you'll get more space.
simple fix

i had this prob back in the day, what you got to do is go to apps2sd see which apps are unmovable then search for hacked modded versions which allow moving to sd. most updated versions of software allow this. i know a web site where u can get loads of modded apps2sd apps but am not sure if am aloud to post it here

This (as all other "true" A2SD utilities) will still require repartitioning SD card.
Yes it requires repartitioning.
After a long night of reading and having trouble on the command line I finally rooted my phone to CM7 2.3.3. I finally have more space and I can move apps like adobe flash to SD thanks guys. After playing with CM 7.0.3 I notice the piture quality taken with the camera are just horrible is there any fix for that?

[Q] A2SD choices? Which is best?

Heyo N1 community,
About to do my first daily driver flash so I'm trying to make sure I'm doing everything right.
Have a quick questions regarding the various Apps2SD choices.
As far as I know, there are market apps designed to get the job done, but as I understand it there are also scripts? And these are smoother in their implementation?
The only one I've seen is the Darktremor A2SD script, which is still a beta and looks like it's been problematic for some.
Are there other options, or is the Darktremor A2SD the only one? If there are other options, is Darktremor's still the best?
Thanks for any and all help fellas.
personal choice although most devs rec what a2sd to use such as
roms like medroid ics are built in
i use dt beta4 on cm7 roms with zero issues
Used S2E for like a year or so with no issues. Has a useful GUI too.

Awesome thanks for the advice and info fellas. gonna check these bad boys out right now.
Do u guys know if a2sd works with miui still? It used to work for me but then I updated to a newer version (currently on 1.12.16, I know its old now but after my a2sd failed to work and my nandroid backup didn't restore properly I just quit updating). Just wondering if they fixed a2sd in the later versions or not, if so I will flash that. Thanks
haven't ran it for awhile, but not aware it won't, maybe other issues on your flash
redo sdcard and ext and try
start a thread and ask on forum, someone will inform you

I've tried to use Dt beta4 many times, but it seems to do nothing. I install a new rom with a fresh ext4 partition, and I set up my phone, and then I go back into recovery and flash the .zip for Dt beta4. It successfully installs, but when i check my internal storage, it still shows up as 200mb or so, and apps continue to be installed on internal storage. Where am I going wrong?
In terminal, type:

a2sd reinstall
a2sd cachesd
Have you done it?

+1 for curiosity's sake
I use IA2SD script.
I'm on MiUI 2.3.2 ROM which has A2SD enabled with it. Though Dark Tremors seems to be a popular one from what I've seen on these forums.

you need a ext4 partition on your sd card and an app which enables you moving apps to sd like "link2sd", "s2e" or similar. And you need to root your phone.
Look a bit around in the ace section here on xda and youll find everything you need

Are you linking the apk, dex and lib files or just installing (moving) apps to sd? You should create link to free up your internal space.
Take it from my experience. I used stocklite for almost 5 months with link2sd. Linked all apps except for those with widgets or that i needed at boot left on internal. 80 apps, 50 mb free on internal.
If you change to cyanogenmod you won't have more internal space, same space, different rom. When you do the required wipes with cwm (which you should to install cyano roms) it will format and erase the partition. You'll still have your partitioned sd card, but all info in that partition will be gone.

Carrier specific roms are harder to find than free roms. Go to sammobile and check if they have the rom that came with your phone.
The stock roms are all installed through your computer with odin and your phone in download mode.

Low memory with CronMod on CyanogenMod.

I have CyanogenMod 7.2 on my phone with CronMod memory mod. My internal memory shows that I still have 456 MB of space from my 758 MB ext4 partition. Yet phone show info that I have low storage space. Why?
Which script did you use?
CronMod-INT2EXT4+

That's really weird. It's not supposed to happen. Though I have had some issues like that, it's because you know some parts of the app stay in the internal memory of the phone, they have to be manually moved to the SD over time. Since it's a really small amount of storage that that part of the app takes, it really shouldn't be a problem. But since you have a lot of them installed, you're gonna have to manually move the apps to the SD.
Use Titanium Backup and batch move the heaviest apps you have to the SD and it'll work normally.

I heard that for every use of 500mb of external memory we need 100mb internal memory as it store some files every time we install a app...

Sorry, I'm just having no luck getting the fixed IN2EXT4+ to work on an international galaxy ace. the script creates a file in the init.d folder, as opposed to the unfixed version, but it still doesn't mount or recognise the ext partition on the SD card. I've followed your guides very closely, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...
after each attempt, i start from scratch (clean ROM install), and yet I keep failing ;/
I partition using CWM recovery 5, so does that create an ext4 partition or 3/lower?
Thanks for your time
