Italian v10d update with Baseband 0725 is coming soon. - LG Optimus 2x

LG Italia has confirmed that a new update Froyo v10d is coming.
The update will update the baseband to version 1035.21_20110725.
The official changelog will be released in coming days, currently LG Italia said that will improve overall stability, will fix the pinch to zoom and other bugs..
Download will be available in coming weeks

An updated kernel? Really? Having a hard time believing that. But still, nice.. Does anyone what version the v10e source builds to? Same 2.6.32?

Correct me if I'm wrong... But 2.6.35 will finally have CPU governor support.

edit: did some digging and it seems like LG Italy either has no clue, or flipped stuff around, at least according to our almighty arcee:

http://twitter.com/#!/CM_arcee/status/96945812269051904
so unless the new version goes 2.6.36.x, we're screwed.

Exactly, they wouldn't include a gingerbread kernel in a froyo release. And if they now would release a new kernel it would've been in the leaked gingerbread release Paul based his on. But the fixes and new baseband are always welcome, hopefully it'll be both good battery, signal and call quality.

Interesting ...

I flew through the thread (which you should mention in your first post as source btw) but past experiences showed that LG representatives (or their PR sections) have little to no understanding of anything beyond "2.2 is FroYo and 2.3 is Gingerbread" (one even replied that there will be no update whatsoever despite a Gingerbread build, although it should be called Gingeryo or Frobread, was already leaked)
I'd be more compelled to believe what arcee is saying, because he as a deep fundamental understanding of android and everything related to tegra.
So either the kernel version they are reporting is off, LG is doing something completely ridiculous, the italian PR section of LG is confusing the Optimus Dual for the Optimus 3D or any combination of those three.

I don't think the Vivo leak will be the final build...it had a lot of odd things like old launcher, duplicate apps, odd power management things, etc.
Usually the build that Moto tests in public themselves is almost near final, I think that whatever build they will be testing will be better than what we have already.

First O2 Germany beta test results
At android-hilfe.de there's a thread for the O2 Germany Froyo beta test. The results are not very promising: Moto ist still using the APAC kernel which is known to have a bug with the display driver (DSI errors in dmesg logs). On some phones this bug is causing crashes.
Some users report that their Milestone is sometimes lagging. Overall many people are quite angry now. After waiting for nearly a year, Moto finally delivers a buggy ROM...
I will stay with CM.
Same here, I'm fed up with waiting and now on iceandfire/CM7 since a week or so. Why bother waiting for a buggy Froyo, when I can also have a (more or less buggy) Gingerbread?!
Still, it's a shame that Moto can't get its act together
Looks like they will be rolling out Froyo at the same time this forum has finished rolling out the bugs from gingerbread

buggy beta = final Froyo release
Hi,
some guys from the German O2 beta test reported that the Froyo beta will become the finale version despite of reported problems.
Moto stated on the beta test forum:
This software has been approved for distribution by o2 and Google. This
pre-release is a test to ensure there are no catestrophic failures. As of
right now there are no plans to provide newer software. We are however
investigating the issues that have been reported.

Note the limitation only on "catastrophic failures"
That is: about 3 month after the Gingerbread release we finally will get the update to Froyo which is still buggy...
And Moto tells us their quality management is satisfied if there's no "catastrophic failure". It took nearly a year of development to reach this point.

Nova ROM is a modified ROM based on original V10C from LG. It is faster than stock one and also doesn't include all that unuseful stuff that stock ROMs have.
To flash a modified ROM breaks the warranty, but there are methods to flash the origin ROM and return to the begining.
In order to flash Nova ROM, you have to:
- root your phone
- install rom manager and then install ClockWorkMod Recovery.
- Download nova rom and flash it through CWM
Search how to root your specific software version and once root it's easy. RomManager can be installed from Market and once installed it downloads the last CWM for your device, installs it and let you reboot into recovery. Then, with your rom in .zip format inside your sdcard is very easy to flash it.
Search!!!
well i've heard september since june and have thought ok that means october-november but i think they'll actually get it out in september.

First compiled ICS boot.img and system.img - not bootable -

1. It is not from me. I just found it on Google+.
2. I have not tested it myself.
3. This is highly experimental and can brick your phone.
Ok, if like living risky, here is finally the link:

i remember that v20b is more fast than v20n and battery life of v20n is better.
maybe also kernel version is different, but i don't remember very well
when i put the v20n, the rom had big problems of ram management..
probable i mistake
Is the Touchkey lightning still broken?
n and b versions are far different...
But in older versions, like n and o, as Spain as Germany had the same version letter... except this time.
Everything seems to be the same, but I based Zeus on Spanish V20O and there are problems with rtl that I have solved with some code from German V20O...
Please, try this stuff to decide which version to use as Zeus base.
Regards!
---------- Post added at 09:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 AM ----------
Also, some people with RTL languages may try this version to see if LG people have decided to implement correct RTL writing in his ROMs (and spanish V20Q too...)
Regards.
jes Huexxx you right i think German rom is best cause here in Germany are People from over the World so no problem with RTL i think so ps lg still have no infos about v20p i look at German Forum and on LG page on Facebook

This method for me worked flawlessly. Tnx! (hit the button as well ) I now have a v20p rooted. First impressions: looks like v20q, actually haven't seen any differences; launcher is smoother than v20o (same as v20q), less lag, and with RAM Manager pro and after i uninstalled all the unnecessary LG aps, the rom seems quite good (almost no lag). Hopping though for a better battery life because this is a problem with v20q.
So, for those who want to root this rom, use the method posted by t0g3, because it really works!
Cheers!

Where to download Android 2.1 or a mod based on it?

On the wikipedia page of this phone it says that the original OS it came with was Android 2.1 and I'm wondering if there is any way I could download this rom (or a mod of it)? My phone sometimes lags with 2.2.
I used to have the 2.1 on my HTC Wildfire and it is more than good enough for me for what I need it to do, I wouldn't mind missing out on any of the perks brought in subsequent upgrades.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the prompt answer, but I just can't see how can they be faster than 2.2 (on the I9000 hardware) if more powerful phones are needed to run them?

Hahahahaha.
Gingerbread even runs on a chinese crapphone from a food market in germany (lidl).
It runs fluent on the cheapest android device, will it run worse on you 300 euro flagship?

if you don't know gingerbread is made and optimised for i9000 and it if lagged it would be paradoxal, just because it is a improved version of froyo, and if not,we would all get froyo installed on our devices right away
try the custom jw6 roms and you'll see that you won't regret it,much smoother, more performance and a more pleasant and renovated design.or just take a look for curiosity,it's worth it

Dearly beloved trolls, let us gather together in prayer for this poor misguided soul, that he may turn his back on froyo and seek salvation in a bag of jelly beans. Amen
