I've been getting my money's worth out of my netflix account lately and I've come across some very obscure but pretty good/interesting movies and I thought there might be one or two other people here who enjoy good movies
Share em if you got em but please no blockbusters, they get enough attention.

The box, and the skeleton key are both movies related to TV shows like twilight zone and tales from the crypt but with hotter women leads.
Loved Serenity but the marketing of it was not up to the movie itself. It should have been a blockbuster.

It's really a shame it wasn't. I was very pleasantly surprised by it.

I don't know if you've ever watched it OP, but try a movie like The Nines with Ryan Reynolds. Interesting and thought provoking.
Other good movies that I enjoyed....Moon with Sam Rockwell. Awesome one-man show.

I had no idea that firefly existed before I watched serenity, was a little confused!#
But after watching that, and then watching again, it made for very good entertainment. Definately would recommend it to most people.
(Random side note - I used to play a game called EVE, I thought there were a few, not loads, of similarities between the two.)
If you're into reading films, I enjoyed "La Haine" as well, but that is getting on a bit now.

Pans Labyrinth and Leon are 2 amazing films, agreed.
Donnie Darko too, I guess most people here would have seen it though, but didn't think it would be classed as blockbuster.

Not only is this beautiful and elegant -- but the reason I am QUOTING is because I *did* go visit your page to read about your thoughts as well as see the comments written THERE too.
This comment both cracked me up and was sheer brilliance... But if you don't know the reference it would fly right over a person's head and be totally wasted. SO, just to help make the point really CLEAR, i will translate it afterwards. The comment itself is EPIC:

To really appreciate what the commenter is saying here, you have to know this is Bugsy Malone he is referring to -- a gangster in the USA, who saw an empty place in the desert land in Nevada (a state in the USA not too far from California) and envisioned on this empty barren land, with no highways around, no cities around, no nothing -- he envisioned a city in the middle of this desert -- which would be a place where military people and others could come to get inexpensive enterainment....
Everyone thought he was NUTS! Who the hell wants to come to this sh*thole in the desert, Bugsy? he said "you'll see after I've built my first casino here"... and he drew up plans with architects for "The Flamingo" -- an iconic marker now for the original LAS VEGAS, the city, the gambling, the culture, the entire state of mind that he created --- casting his gaze out across the barren landscape of the desert.
The photo above is from when the Flamingo first opened... proving all the doubters wrong.
And now, just for further context... A reminder that once things are indeed built, bigger is not always better, iPadius Jobius.

Hey gang, I posted another set and I hope you like them. I was in a bit of a rush before I leave for my marathon. Well, I'm actually not that far in the relationship with this girl but if I was I would let her decide what we should do during the day (shopping or whatever she wants to do). At the evening I would prepare a delicious homemade dinner with starter and dessert, give her a massage and probably suffer through a romantic movie (I would concentrate more on the cuddling with her than the story though)
I would probably also give her some jewelry at the dinner if I could afford it but... I'm a student ^^

From my estimates, the "geek" subspecies of humanity will be extinct by 2060-ish.

I never thought it would happen but the long, long awaited Half-Life mod is nearly upon us! 30 minutes to go before downloading can begin Game is available to download NOW!:

It's been green-lit on Steam too so expect to see it available there in a few weeks. Apparently it's not the complete game yet, but takes the player up to the Zen levels, which are expected to be released at a later date. Perhaps 10 hours of gameplay to be released today though.
Anybody else excited to be finally playing this? HL1 is one of the best games ever released and i for one will be hitting it up once i'm back home later.

This, and I certainly don't mind playing hl1 again

From what i gather, there's been some creative license taken with this mod. It's not just a simple update to the HL2 engine and a re-skin. I think some of the more tedious elements may have been shortened or removed.
Can't wait to find out for myself. I'm hoping that between the time i get home to start the download, and then returning from the gym later, that the game is ready to play!

Don't we all! I finished playing Black Mesa and have to say it's the best mod i've ever played. I can see now why it took so long in the making! It's unbelievable considering that it's a free game too.
