Everybody wants to unlash the Power of WP7 and DirectX. Every WP7 user is looking to the anroid games very jealous. There are Phones with exacly the same chipset able to emulate N64(N64oid) and PSX in fullspeed. So let us convert N64oid for WP7. It should be not so hard because the arm instructions are included so we need only sb who knows how to make a cool gui ^^. So everybody who has Some source codes or some plugins based on OpenGL or DirectX. Here is the link for the apk of N64oid (open it winrar) .
Please let us start developing something very cool^^
Sry Because Im a newby im not allowed to post Outside Links but google is your friend^^
it will not be possible for the first...
Wario's Jewels, an GameBoy classic emulator, nearly runs at fullspeed. The problem is, i think, that you havn't the full access to windows phone's hardware...
greetz cndymn_
I mean when I look at games like Assanins Creed or The Harvest this apps must have a full Hardware Access and the full Hardware access is already cracked for HTC Devices. I mean the work is nearly done there a lot of Plugins (n64) like DarkMan Dinput or Rice Video that are OpenGl so the only the sound is missing and that is not so bad. We only need somebody how make us a cool GUI and convert some codes of n64oid to the silverlight pendant work is done. I mean the assembler converts are already in the apk of n64oid.
i do not know what you are talking about I do not now anything about smartphone apps devloping
so if it is possible, please try with others to develop an emu. Would be very, very nice!
Oh man TLOZ Ocarina of Time would be grandious!!!
^^ I cant programm too i but i asked some question in an n64 emu forum. So if you know that a emulator only transform the code from the n64 cpu into arm cpu code you know how it works thats the hardest part of programming an emulator but this work is already done we only have too find some body how makes a cool GUI and modifi a little bit the API. The Emulator(n64oid) is written in c so if sb are a c programmer please help us
I would love a N64 emulator but, even SNES is not even possable yet. Let's get NES done right, then SNES done right, then move on to the N64.
N64 is going to be hardone to do on a WP7 device from what I understand. Also, how will you do controls ? SNES would be hard too, never mind the N64.
The n64oid emu for anroid shows it works and it has only a size of 500kb i think somebody is able to do a convert. Because this emu runs at anroid phones with qsd 8250 at fullspeed and every wp7 phone has this chipset .
I think that sb how have some c and silverlight expressions could convert an existing snes nes or what ever emu to wp7 (with arm7 libs i can upload them after 8 threads started ) I looked up in the n64oid apk an the MF folder and everything is readebel the gui is defined with some xml data but much more idont know ifound the libs and yes why is it so hard to find cool custom stuff for wp7 phones? I mean there no custom roms or something why? I mean at wm times there were tones of these stuff and know ? I mean there are a lot of emus for wm why nb converts them? NES SNES GBA and PSX was very well working on my touch dual with 400mhz why not an a phone with 1ghz ?

Hate to break it to you, but there's currently no way to run something like n64oid on WP7 atm.
No dynarec and no native access means nono and even if you had interop, it would be a pure nightmare trying to get it up and running let alone porting a c/c++ project of that size to C#.
The reason emulators can run on older/slower phones is because they do have lower access to CPU/GPU etc.
It seems like it would be a very big work for sb who have a big knowledge of C+/C#and Silverlight. But maybe the libs(armv7) off n64oid maybe would help http://x7.to/h7a421 . I think this would need some wp7 developer working with a android developer and if sb knows where there some snes to arm compiled libs posted it please.
@ Nudua: Thx for the cool NES emu im using it daily^^, and @ DavidinCT yes i think we should wait for the first snes emu maybe i could find something usefull there
MABY
maby you could find someone like me who programs in android sdk and wp7 sdk and silverlight and java and html and flash and adobie and 3dsmax and blablablablablablabla!
and maby thay will do it
but i dought it!

First, the courts have repeatedly ruled that emulators are absolutely, perfectly 100% legal. There is NO grey area about this at all. Talking about emulators is not a legal issue at all.
Roms however are illegal to share or download so discussing where to get them, what torrents to get them in is not acceptable and so please absolutely no discussion of roms here.
My question relates to the Gameboy Advance and Super Nintendo emulator found here...
http://www.pocketsnes.net/ (I don't think this is the latest version but I can't find a newer version).
It's a program that lets me play backed up copies of gameboy advance and super nintendo games that I own on my mobile phone.
While the program worked perfectly fine on previous generation HTC phone, I can't get it to work here.
Could someone with some software experience please work on, or figure out what the problem is and why we can't get it running on this particular HTC phone.
It's honestly the only drawback to upgrading to the Kaiser so I would love to have it fixed.
Thank you.
The problem is more than likely to do with the much talked about video driver issues. Until an official fix is released or another way to get the video hardware running properly there's not really much that you can do. I've managed to run a SNES emulator on my Kaiser at a pace slightly slower than a snail's .
On the other hand, emulation of the original NES console games along with the Gameboy/Gameboy Color seems to work perfectly for me. Maybe give that a try if you can put up with the not-quite-so-good graphics?
Its going to play terribly because of the acceleration problems with our phones, My 6700 used to play them perfectly with out sound.. well except GBA but SNES was flawless without sound.. I just cant wait for someone with the intelligence and skills to come out with a fix for this problem, he/she should definitely become well known after that creation.
mine runs pretty smooth...i have had no problems yet
Wait, you have PocketSnes working!!! If so, could you tell me where you downloaded it from please. Thank you.
I'm 95% sure that the sourcecode for pocketsnes was released years ago.
The old program was written for Windows Mobile (the same OS we have now).
Could someone maybe recompile it in whatever language works with qualcomm processers (I have no idea how to do this but I'm hoping it can be done by some brilliant coder out there).
I will happily contribute to a paypal account for whoever can pull that off as I am sure many others will.

Rico are you talking about with or without sound??
Been trying to get PocketSNES working but thereis no sound. Tried to enable it but it won't stick. Couldn't even find a working NES emulator. Tried to search but only came up with t-mobile. Was curious if anyone had some working ones they KNOW works and could share. Just looking for SNES and NES
Best bet is Morphgear by SpicyPixel......! Hands down! Has them all in one convenient package.

one for gamboy advange
PocketGnuboy Version 1.21
if about 500 games for gameboy
for pocket snes sound to work you need to overclock your device
Are there any emulators that can change to landscape/and or use the keyboard??
I tried a couple of emulators (snes) and they ran slow and had those horrible controllers on the touchscreen .......

morph gear can be configured to work in landscape. Does sound work with picodrive? pocket gba is faster than morphgear for game boy advance
Yes, sound is working. And you can play fullscreen and map keys.

Discussion of that is illegal. Learn2Google.
Hey fellas, I'm just wondering what kind of emulator you can use for the Tilt and what type of roms does it support, like can you use the same roms that you use on your computer for it or is it something else?
I use Morphgear and it works great. ROMs that work on your computer should be able to work on your device.
I use "Pocket Nester" for NES roms and "Pocket SNES" for SNES games, all of which are normal roms you normally use on the computer. I also have a PSX emulator, which was pig slow on the orbit, but I havent yet tried it on the kaiser.
Alright well Morphgear sounds the most popular, does anyone know if this will be compatible with Virtual Boy Advance game saves? Could someone please test this for me, also does it use the same extensions? ".gba", ".gbc", and ".gb"?

pocket snes emulator is for snes games .smc format, nes games are .nes that`s why pocket nes won`t recognise the format.
Don't snes games run real slow on the kaiser..? I only found NES games to work wqell on it.

I can only get decent speed on morphgear with the sound disabled for snes games. Anyone got decent settings for snes emulation please?
I run Dutty's latest rom (June 7th (?..)) and pocket snes works okay on that, but it really depends on the game. For example, FF6 is okay, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo is good, but Killer Instinct is a bit choppy.
Aside from the ones already mentioned, I like to use FinalBurn, it lets you play some neogeo, and some other arcade games.

Is anyone running quake on G1?
Is it available for g1? I would love to get it on here along with doom and some better games. All the market games are crap right now!!!
I have seen the First Android Emulator and Device on Google Presentation and they have Presented Quake also into that.
Why these so many Application is missing i dont know ?
Becasue of money...money....mooney.................MONEY
If they came out with it I would pay for it in a heartbeat!
I think you will not need to. QUAKE Source code is available free!!
Now its upto Google if they might have removed any Compatibility feature in libc
I have a sinking feeling that most developers are holding out until next year when they can charge for applications in the marketplace. That's fine with me (sort of) except that many apps will be for fixing many mistakes that Google so kindly left to 3rd party developers to fix or add... I would love to see what this baby can handle as far as Quake goes. I bet it could run Quake II pretty well! I know I could only run Quake I on my Wizard, this will be good. Also an NES and SNES emulator will be nice!
Yeah nes emulator is the one thing i cant wait for, if done properly. Using the trackball on alot of the old nes games would make them alot easier to play.
they want to wait till 2009 so they can charge in android market! NO
Quake for Android, it's possible?
Hey Guys,
I'm a new forum user... i would ask: exist quake for Android?
I saw quake 3 on nokia n95 8gb, the real game for pc on phone.. it's or will possible on g1?
There was a tech demo of Quake1 pre-G1 launch and we do have OpenGL so I would assume its possible. It would just require porting from C code to Java unless its made for root users only and re-compile existing code to a native ARM binary. As far as I know though, the tech demo was showing off mobile GPU tech by a company other then HTC and the HTC Dream doesn't have this GPU so it may have to be all done on the CPU making a Quake3 port unlikely. Quake1 definitely because its older, but I can't see Quake3.
That video of quake was on a G1 from what I could tell. Go back and watch it.
Thanks..
Because i already saw back, but I not found topic of Quake(I or II or II) on Android.. You have some link about this?

Yeah... Qualcom isn't HTC and that's not a G1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fH1Rd-T1rYM
As for this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FJHYqE0RDg there is no indication that's a G1 either as you can't prove its the Dream because of black plastic.
Either way both are showing off proto-types that have yet to see the light of day and if the last one was a G1 there's no telling what was stripped out before mass production. Considering HTC hasn't listed any GPU specific hardware with the Dream nor Magic I think its safe to assume any 3D content is software rendered.

The phone playing Quake here is clearly a Dream:
http://www.markpascua.com/2008/02/28/googles-android-os-demo-plays-quake/
And if you still doubt it, download Neocore from the market. It's a pretty impressive 3D benchmark by Qualcomm.
I have already viewed this videos.. but exist an apk or some lines that explain how put Quake on Android?
I just want to say: if it using motion detector in the FPS game, then it's rocks

Its just a matter of someone creating an iphone "emulator" or stack for use on windows ce devices.
Not 100% impossible, but can't yet

Then there's the issue of the multi-touch capable capacitive screen on the iPhone, vs. the resistive one-tough-at-a-time screen on windows mobile phones. It would very difficult to emulate some of those games on windows mobile w/o the multi-touch, IMHO.

Actually it is 100% impossible, as the Hardware in the Raphel is no where close to the same [required] hardware in the iPhone.
Your "example" is **** too. Your Xbox is no longer an Xbox, it's an underpowered computer. You changed the complete operating system on it.
It would be nice but not possible... yet?

Stating the Xbox is not an xbox is very wrong.
It is still an xbox, but with th bios modified to include 2 bootloaders.
If I put a game in the drive, from boot, holding the power button it launches the game, and believe it or not, plays perfectly. Microsoft use XEX executable files, which are a derivation of c++. The only way to run these titles, sucessfully - I'm not talking about ****ty emulators that can run halo 1 in debug mode, like the only working pc emulator for the xbox original can do, is when the primary bootloader calls the kernel to interpret them on the xbox. If I had an underpowered computer, and not an xbox, this would not work, would it buddy!?! Because I would be using a ****ty Emulator, and the only x86 compatable emulator only plays halo 1 in debug mode at a maximum of 17frames per second.
Your argument makes no sense. My xbox is still an xbox which launches homebrew code to allow linux to run.
I also have a 360 doing exactly the same, but that is far from an underpowered pc when running ubuntu using the king kong exploit Here is that
Thats funny, Does that mean, that according to you, everytime I launch Haret on my raphael to boot android, my raphael becomes something other than a phone, cause im sure i can still call, text and surf on it....
Also - The Raphael does indeed have multitouch - not the screen, no, But the touch sensitive scroll does indeed have multitouch, so mapping an interface around that wouldn't be that difficult
Why not test it yourself
I wasnt stating everything would work, it wouldn't because of the hardware, i'll agree with you there.... but an emulator would allow certain things to run. Everything released for the iphone does not max out system resources on them. Don't you think that would be stupid?
http://www.tuaw.com/2009/08/03/microsoft-how-to-port-iphone-apps-to-windows-mobile/
That's interesting. Does this maybe mean that we will have those games on wm? It would be very nice...
