My Touchscreen started having an iris-colored liquid inside and, as I don't want to buy a new phone yet, I'd like to exchange the screen. I already found a trustworthy website selling the appropriate screens, but no instructions on how to exchange the screen. I do have a slight idea, but I'd like to be sure.
Thanks for any help, Malitai.

if you mean to replace the display screen or digitizer, there is a guide to disassemble everything. Please see this.
It's pretty easy if you use the guide - just be careful lifting the latch on the digitiser connection if you're replacing this as well - I didn't and borked my phone! As such I've got a new screen and digitiser and no use for them.

Very sorry about it! I also tried in wrong way to lift the latch, it is very tricky, but luckily I did not break it. Now I am confident and I had disassembled everything 2-3 times to fix a screen problem.
same problem
i have the same problem, can it be repaired or I have to replace the screen
Problem solved
I found this solution and it worked. now is like new

I cracked my original screen and ordered one off eBay. Followed the procedure perfectly, the phone turns on and everything works - except the touch feature. I tried re-seating the contacts - same deal. Anything I'm missing?
Did the screen include the digitizer?
The auction said it did. Is that a separate item??? Sorry, this is my first time doing this...
I think so, it should be a thing plastic film.. I think.
Look at cnn.cn and see if it can help you, if not then dig around using digitizer as a keyword.
This is what it looks like: http://www.blackberry8100parts.com/assets/images/8925 F -2.jpg I assume the yellow connector is the digitizer?

Tried searching for the word "digitizer" and it seems as if though my screen already comes with it attached...
Crisis averted, I took it apart and put it back together and voila, it worked.
i have literally looked everywhere for this part. can't seem to locate it in any of the repair parts store. has anyone seen it anywhere?
am i the only one who broke this battery hinge? =(
I broke mine.. I also had a problem with my touchscreen, so in sent it in for repair. Both parts were replaced.
I guess you might find it on ebay too..
I did try eBay with no luck =(

Why are back and front cover listed for Legend since its a unibody phone? -htcrepairparts
Hello,
I have the same problem too.
German Ebay helped me: German Ebay -> search for "HTC Legend Cover Gehäuse Rück" (Sorry, I am not allowed to post a link)
You get whoole middle part with hinge, which was broken.
Maybe you can get same part also in other countries or Chine.
I'm going to drag this thread up.
Did anyone go about replacing it? If so did you do it the slow and painful way (Taking the whole phone apart and replacing the whole chassis) or the quick, but risky way (just taking the hinge off the part and installing that to the original chassis, risk of breaking it though :\)
I'd really appreciate if you could let me know

How about buying a cheap legend on ebay
I have some kind of bad scratches on my screen, I was just wondering if I choose to replace it will I need to swap the digitizer, screen or front case?
Its not causing many problems yet, but in the sun they show up really bad and make things under the scratches kind of hard to see.

The Actual front of the screen is actually the digitizer so thats what you would have to replace, the font case dosent have a clear part its the digitizer
and believe it or not thats probably the cheapest part of all 3 to replace
and if you choose to replace it you can use this guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaAe0xWdkzI

Hello, I also have scratch on the screen, but they're not scratch "lines": in the center, where I touch most of the times, I have some kind of spots, like the screen had worn in that point because is the most touched. Anyone with this problem? What it could be?
Thanks!

Check if there's any protection cover on the screen. In case there's no cover and you see the touchscreen was damaged, try to replace it. Someone already have posted youtube link to tutorial. For instance, you can buy a new touchscreen on ebay (i can't post the link)
How hard will it be to replace the whole housing & lcd + digitizer?
I'm not worried about damaging the old housing and screen. Only the internals I care about keeping intact.
anyone?

those only show the teardown, i'm not worried about damaging the original screen and housing.
the thing is i want to replace a cracked screen, and if the only damage involved is a mangled rear housing, then i can just replace that too and have a brand new looking phone again.

Ok, cool. Sounds like you have everything under control then...
Read the teardown and you'll see how to replace the screen.

not HOW to, rather if the pcb/circuitry will get damaged in the process.
Hi,
the touch screen of my Xperia V is broken and I'd like to replace it myself. It's not the first time for me that I repair a mobile device myself, but without a disassembly guide, it is difficult for me to identify the parts that are fixed by glue. I don't want to break anything that is still working.
I already found a russian video on YouTube, but it seems to me that the display is not taken apart from the other parts of the device.
Has anyone here done it before?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I've managed to remove the display. Mainly because it was really damaged ... heating the display and "bending" with a small tool.
It's really hard as the glue is quite strong. As my replacement screen is "on it's way" I'm not able to finalize the work.
I'm kind of stuck in the part when removing the "middle, plastic" part...
display is connected to body with really strong glue. Remember that it is impossible to remove old display without breaking it. Second thing is that with new display the phone most likely will not be waterproof

Hi! I broke mine last night. How did your repair go when the part arrived? I also could only find the russian video without the screen being removed
How hot did you have to make the screen? I was thinking of using an iron with a cloth around it.
Hi Folks, I'm curious to hear how others are going - I managed to break my screen this last week, Hoping to replace it but so far taking out that glass seems to be a tricky thing - any suggestions? How did the iron and cloth go?

There's no way.... You need to buy a new housing with the LCD and touchscreen built in, and then move all your bits over. That's why the russian video of the guy removing everything doesn't remove the screen.

I just ordered this: http://www.parts4repair.com/complete-screen-assembly-for-sony-xperia-v-lt25i/ I will see how that goes. I got tired of using my old SG1 so it's time to fix the V...
Good luck. Careful with the tiny, white antennae cable running from the main board to the bottom. I twisted mine a little bit too much and the connector popped off. I had to go get a new one with much difficulty.

I replaced the screen - had it working for two days and dropped it again - cracked screen, doesn't even light up.
I now have another replacement screen and a better case - at least now I'm getting quicker at taking the phone apart....

Hi this wont work, I went through the exact same issue, and its impossible to attach the new screen properly. your best bet is to try and find a second hand screen via ebay. it has to have the "housing part with it. otherwise you are wasting your time. it cost me so much to fix mine as I ordered two screens in the end I could have bought a new phone on special....
Try Ebay, and make sure you see the one with the screen and front housing on, I am unable to port the correct link on here as I haven't made 10 posts yet.
Search for the following on ebay : Genuine Sony Ericsson Xperia V LT25i front+digitizer touch screen+LCD display
This should let you find the correct screen
Look at the picture you will see the side housing for the front is also installed, the one you have ordered is the incorrect one as its only the LCD and the Digitzer, without the front housing that it gets "glued" onto. You can see the main difference where the earpiece is its shown as black, hence the mesh is there. that would be the correct one to order. Unless you have the means of getting yours glued back on the same way as the factory, I see you will struggle to get it done otherwise.
