[Q] Stuck on Fugu reboot loop - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I was trying to follow the directions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1127249
But I did NOT have a KF1 Rom. Now I'm stuck in a fugu fish reboot loop. I have tried VOLup and Down + power, I have tried VOL Up+power, I even made a 301k resister jig, all to no avail.
Does anyone have any more suggestions on getting my phone up and running again?

Try these:
1. From power off Vol + / Vol -, then insert USB
2. Hold Vol - + Power
3. Hold Vol + / Vol - / Home sotftkey
(Btw - link is This.)

Power+VOL- with no USB worked! Thank you so much!

Glad to hear it worked for you. Just for reference, that's the new download mode key combo for Gingerbread. Recovery is Vol + / Power.

Need some help..phone stuck in recovery mode?

I have the screen where the phone and computer have a ! between...how do I get into download mode from here so I can use Odin??? I've tried the vol up + vol down + power button and also tried using the command 'adb reboot download' and neither of those work......
Try this.
Open Odin
Remove battery/sim/sdcard
Put battery in
Hold only the volume buttons
Plug USB in
If this doesnt work do the process again but only holding up or down, not both at the same time.

[Q] Recovery & Download Button Combo?

I did a search but couldn't find anything. Are there any button combos to boot into download mode or recovery mode or is ADB my only option?. I tried what worked on the GS2 but not luck.
Depending on the rom, it should be volume down + power. Hold both until the samsung logo flashes then comes back the 2nd time and let go of power, keep holding volume down and it should boot into recovery. You can also try alternating with volume up + home button + power, same method as above.

S5830i - works normally but cant get any mode (download or recovery)

Hi!
I've tried all of metods, home + power, volup voldown + home + power, any combination of them. All I get is samsung la fleur logo blinks for 2 secs, turn off for sec and just boot normally. Any idea to get recovery mode?
EDIT: looks like vol buttons doesnt working, but why I cant get recovery mode?
Connect via odin to see whether it recognizes it while in download mode.Sometimes your phone goes into download mode but the screen doesnt appear..press vol up+down+power for 6 secs and then press vol up.Should be good to go after flashing a stock rom.
GT S5830i-Rocking on Broadcoms gpu...
Here the right guidance:
Download Mode: The Middle of the Volume Button (IMPORTANT!!!) and On/Off Button.
The S5830i has a special Button sequence.
Recovery Mode: Volume up + Home Button + On/Off Button (hold this 3 Buttons till you see the Bootscreen for a second time)

1. Recovery mode = Vol Up + HOME + Power button.
2. Download mode = Vol Up + Vol Down + Power button.
If your vol buttons doesnt working, that mean you cant get to both mode because both combination require vol buttons.
It can be also that ur phone is going into download mode..bt u cannot see..(happened with many)
Press the button required to go in downld mode and connect to pc..
And c if odin is recozing ur cell

[Q] Bricked? If not, what can i do?

After installing Maclaw CW11.0 i decided to install SlimROM.
Now, It seems I'm in a Bootloop.
I'm unable to go to download mode or Recovery by using the buttons.. Vol Up(or Down) + Home + Power Doesn't do anything
Vol Up + Vol Down and then plugging in the USB cable doesn't do anything either...
I just see the SlimROM logo blinking for a while... then it stops... and it reboots...
Anyone any ideas of what i can do?

i think you forgot to wipe before flashing the new rom.
So pull out the battery, wait few seconds, put it in and try to reboot into recovery or download-mode.
Good luck
I'd love to do that, but how do I go into those modes if 3 button combo doesn't work nor vol up + vol down + plug in usb?

try this one (but without guarranty:
1. power off phone
2. remove battery.
3. plug in USB cable to computer and phone (with battery out)
4. hold Vol Up and Vol Down
5. drop in the battery while still holding the vol buttons
6. in 2 secs you'll be in download mode
Good luck
Thnx for the good luck
However, I've tried that method and it didn't work. I've ordered a USB Jig, maybe that can help.

Not a brick only no system support
Download mode - use three way comnations only when ur phone is totally turned off and press and hold them don't leave them
I own multiple phones and tablets and I can get every single one into download mode. Just not this one. The three button combo does not work, not even when I remove my battery first. As soon as I'm home I'll make a small video of what happens.
Btw, the only mode I can actually get in to is: POWER RESET or UNKNOWN UPLOAD MODE
I get there by holding Vol Up & Power On
Any thoughts?

U r pressing wrong combination for download mode you have to press
Vol down + "power" + home and have to hold it to enter no s3 mini logo appears before download mode
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tdznfLJsyY
see in this video he doesnt leave power button
and after that flash 3 way recovery from this thread by using odin - download mode
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2066407
@S. Phrenic
press vol up + menu + power much longer. The s3 mini logo appears 2 times and then recovery mode comes up.
if this doesn´t help, try ADB method
1. Download and install Android SDK
2. Connect the phone to the PC via USB
3. Press Win key+ r and type cmd
4. Type adb reboot recovery
5. Done. Phone should reboot into recovery
Good luck
In the video I'm showing 3 different things:
1. Vol Up + Power + Home
2. Vol Down + Power + Home
3. Vol Up + Vol Down
Non of them work. I checked your video, I don't see how I do anything different.
Duration change, check! I've now held it for 3 min.
I've got a S2 plus laying next to me and I can get into download mode without any trouble. This means I know how to get into recovery and download mode without any trouble.

Does my phone need to be turned on for the adb method?
it says, error: device not found
Kies doesn't see the device... because it's not powered i'm assuming..
Think I found my problem.... USB debugging is disabled... I think.... as I can't remember enabling it
Try emergency restore in Samsung Kies.

Yes it needs to be turned on to system with adb debug, or to custom recovery.
For emergency mode in kies I think you need download mode as well.
You don't need adb debug enabled to use download mode, but for some reason you can't enter dl-mode

(HELP) My Samsung tab s2 keep restarting after root

Hello, this is my first time rooting my Android, well this is bad, I'm panicking, my Galaxy tab s2 keep restarting after i root it with t815_cf-autoroot.
i have Samsung S2 SM T815Y version.
When i press Power+volume up+home button it says Odin mode, so i have no factory reset options, any help?
or i made mistake by root step?
need help asap
You're not pressing POWER + VOL UP + HOME, you're actually pressing VOL DOWN that's why you keep booting into download mode.
Also I doubt root is causing your tablet to restart.
What version are you running, 5.0.2 or 5.1.1?

I'm using 5.0.2. It happens when i press power+vol up+home button, it said only "download mode" not asking to press vol up

Again, you are actually pressing POWER + VOL DOWN + HOME not POWER + VOL UP + HOME
