Adw ex, chomp sms, startup manager, cachemate, opera mini browser or dolphin mini, and sd speed increase. I recommend kushdecks gb rom. Turn off animations, put brightness at 30%, experiment with jit, purge assets on, dithering off, max at 768 min at 268, ondemand gov, vm at 48, disable compcache. In spare parts make end button put phone to sleep. Sd speed increase at 2048. In adw, low quality cache, desktop scroll speed at 0, turn off animations. Keep widgets to a minimum. In startup manager, turn off everything that starts except gmail, texting app and sd speed increase. I recommend chomp for text because the stock messager doesnt allow the phone to sleep. I recommend opening the rom before flashing it with 7zip and deleting every sound and app you dont plan to use. I keep one ringtone, one notification sound and delete every ui sound. Keep data, gps, and wifi off when u dont use the phone. Keep render effects off, and disable all haptic feedbacks. Use cachemate to clear the phone and other apps cache every once in awhile. Opera is fast but if u need to download from a site that has a countdown use dolphin. Do all this with kushdecks rom ur phone will be smooth as hell.

#1 reboot into recovery and clear your cache and dalvik cache.
Apps I'd recommend(these will help you speed up a little and still keep a lot of features) :
JustPictures! - Gallery
Launcher Pro Plus - Launcher. It's not as complicated as ADW Ex and is very smooth. There's supposedly a huge update for it in the works as well.
SD Speed Increase - Root app that will speed up gallery load times and some apps that use sd space
Maxthon Browser - The best fully featured browser out right now, the stock browser is still very good as well
As well, try searching for the Ram Booster and V6 and V8 Supercharger scripts on google or these forums.

Already OC to 1.18GHz no need to do anything but flash

Updating SuperUser is OK now, go ahead and update
Removed almost all widgets
Same Framework as Doomed Froyo so ALL themes/flashable zips made for Doomed Froyo will work with Slim version.
Same Tweaks from Doomed Froyo
OC Kernel 1188MHz/1.18GHz Doom Kernel made by me
*************************************************************
Widgets kept:
Power control widget

Application Specific Widgets
Analog Clock (Black with green hands from DeskClock)

Plenty More (horrible note taker will update with all removed apps)
Replaced Apps:
LGHome with Launcher from source code
Calculator with Calculator from source code
Alarm/Clock with DeskClock from source code
*************************************************************
Added Apps:
DeskClock from source code (shows up as "clock" in app drawer. a sort of lockscreen, put icon on the homescreen, press it, DeskClock comes up and you can turn off screen with power button and when come back DeskClock is your lockscreen. It is actualy supposed to be a "DESK CLOCK" for when you are at a... uh desk and want easy access to music and a clock. Gallery Slideshow option does not work with newest gallery, it does work with one from source but, you can not view 3D pictures with source Gallery. Trying to fix)
Spare Parts (allows you to control speed of windows/font resizing does not stick. Better battery statistics/history)
Email original from source code
*************************************************************
3D Button does NOTHING now just makes a nice little vibrate. It can still be used to switch between 2D/3D in games/videos/pictures.
Increase speed of phone by going into spare parts and set Window transitions/Transition animations to FAST
Launcher includes a bunch of wallpapers including a few from Nexus
I suggest using Titanium Backup to make a full backup of all system apps/data BEFORE you install this rom. If there is something missing you want back or want to replace one of the switched out apks, you can use Titanium to do it
*************************************************************
On fresh install settings will FC on first boot. Just ignore it, it happens because of some of the things I took out. Will be trying to fix this. Settings will work just fine and FC only happens on first boot.
Install:
1) Download the zip from link below.
2)Put the zip on your external SD card.
3) Boot into CWM with Vol Down+3D Camera+Power.
4) BACK UP YOUR CURRENT ROM!!!!!!
5) Perform Factory Wipe
6) Install zip from SD
7) Reboot and enjoy!

How is the GPS on this rom?
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA App
For me it works great, can't complain... location based finds me within 20-30 meters and GPS locks on pretty quick to be on safe side I would say within a minute. You will have to install maps from a backup or from market it has been removed.
Is thereany known issues with this rom or does everything work?
Sent from my LG-P925 using XDA App
None that I can think of right now. It is stable and definitely ready for everyday use. You shouldn't have any problems. If you do post them here.
Sweet! Will be downloading and flashing as soon as I can get to work tomorrow and download it! Keep up the good work!
Would you say that this rom is faster then thriller? I'm looking for speed and smoothness, thriller is...alright at best but I've been getting a lot of freezes and restarts:-\

I would like to think it is faster than Thriller... It probably is because it is quite slimmed down there has been a lot taken off of it. The rom is actually based off of Thriller 1.0.3, I haven't had any restarts or problems and I haven't had anyone reporting any problems so I do believe it is pretty stable.
The best thing to do is to download it, go into CWM make a nandroid backup with the "backup and restore" option, then flash this rom and see how you like it. If you don't like, or you have problems just go back into CWM and restore your old setup. It will bring back all your data, sms, contacts, apps everything all of it.
I fixed a problem with the search capactive button and the search on home screen menu not working correctly.
You can either download and flash new rom, no need to do a data wipe.
You can also restore "Google Search" in your backup app (Titanium Backup) it must be a system app for the button to work. I thought it would work as long as it was installed but this isn't the case, it has to be installed with the system or into system/apps
Great work is there a way you can upload a zip w/ the stuff that's removed so we can pick and choose which apks and widgets to install if its not too much trouble.
Edit: mainly the application manager app i miss it already :'(

I can do that NP....
BATTERY UPDATE: Been running this for a bit and I was absolutely shocked when I woke up.
The shot in OP with the widgets and icons is my homescreen. Turned wifi off and had music player open and paused, data network off as well. When I went to sleep, battery was at 30%, when I wake up... still at 30%. Here is a shot, notice android system is only 29% even right now it has only gone up to 30% usage as I type this. Starting to make me wonder if it isnt showing right.... which I am sure it is... just cant believe that after 8 hours it hasnt budged. Also, when I unplugged the phone, it wasnt even charged to 100%. Will give an update on what time it finally dies on me.
Do you have any Gameloft games? If so, was there any issue getting them to run okay on this ROM?

Well unfortunately I had to charge the phone a bit because I left the house and needed my phone... will see what happens today... I didn't do anything special it was just slim and wifi off. I use no task killers or anything like that. Will report again on battery stats and will have the zip up with the deleted apks later as well.
PROTIP: For those that don't know. Go to settings, wireless n networks, wifi settings, press menu capactive button, choose advances, set wifi sleep policy to off when screen is off... save battery

Milestone running slow

Hi everybody, I have a milestone with cm7, no v8 supercharger, jit disabled, vm heap at 32, holo launcher.
I know that I have a lot of apps installed, but the problem is that my camera is very slow and sometimes freezes after take a picture. Also my Facebook scrolls very slow too!
How can I speed up my phone ?
Sent from my Milestone using xda app-developers app
Hi, I had the excact same problem, but camera app fc or took the pictures a long time after I had actually pressed the camera button (or the pictures didnt even got saved to the SD card).
The problem seems to be due to low free RAM.
I recently rebooted into recovery mode and there wiped dalvik cache and cache partition several times. When I booted up it was definitly working better.
You should think about removing some apps though if u have many installed.
How is Holo Launcher working for you after a reboot? Is it there or do u have to set it to the default launcher first to get it back?
Sent from my Milestone using xda app-developers app
Thanks! I will try this, maybe setting my vm heap size to a high value can solve this problem.
Holo launcher works very well, there's an option in it's setting that you can change the default launcher.

possible RAM help

Hey guys, I've come across a problem I've never had before. Recently I've had errors popping up of low memory and a lot of FC's of Facebook, messaging, browser, pretty much everything. I'll look for apps in the play store or browse games and can only scroll down about 2 inches before I hit the bottom. I've used various cleanup apps and still low on ram. Been running aokp jellybean build 5 for months without problems. Any suggestions?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda app-developers app
what is actually running after you boot phone? settings, apps, running tab will show.
have you tried booting into recovery and wiping both dalvik and cache?
other suggestion would be to deny startup or else freeze various apps to see if that helps.
Sent from my SGH-I897
Perhaps a little update wouldn't hurt, there's AOKP JB milestone now. Little backup, clear/wipe and flash it.
But like laughingT mentioned, chances are that you have a app draining your RAM.
Well I updates to milestone 1 originally but when I did the lock screen theme never changed when I changed themes as well as other things (keyboards etc) so I went back to build 5.
After rebooting my phone and seeing what apps are running after starting up and its 3 Google maps, Google, voxer, gmail, OMC widget, Facebook, play music and stuff like that before I've even opened anything

Maps can be stopped (make sure GPS isn't on). I heard OMC Widget caused a lot of battery drain but might've been updated since then. And Voxer, you can stop it and only start it when you need it.
you could try System Tuner, available on google play.
the startups button, gives a list of all apps, system and user, has ability to selectively disable apps at startup.
I use it to prevent Google maps and many others from loading at boot. don't go overboard, say by disabling keyboard or settings, obviously.
I think OMC widget has been updated, but batt use may vary with which widget you select and how frequently you set it to update.
I'm using OMC with the clock weather batt bubble thingy widget, and from what I can see, it suspends updating when screen is off.

[Q] Stock Browser sometimes closed

Dear Friends, I'm Currently running in Stock I9305XXBME1 rooted deodexed, i had problem with stock browser, sometimes it closes when I try to return for previous pages, is this normal? well could someone here can help my question. Many thanks
Definately not normal, I've had the browser open with a good few and very rare for them to reload.
You might have some memory hungry apps running in the background, get a task manager to monitor apps ram usage

[Q] Cyanogenmod 11 Freezes and Reboots

Okay, i have a few issues with CM11
This really happened all of a sudden yesterday. I would use the phone normaly, like send a text message or browse the web or use any other app and it would freeze, stay like that for about 10 seconds then reboot. I figured this is an overclock issue, but ive used the phone before and this problem wasn't so bad, it would happen like once every few days but not every 10 minutes.
Anyone else have this problem?
After thinking its overclock but logically its not, i thought it might be ART, i switched to art and it booted up fine and stuff, but i never bothered to check if it was working! and when i go to dev options it says im using dalvik, so i changed it to art and rebooted. It booted up back into dalvik again. Anyone know why this could be?
And since i couldnt change to art to see if it would fix the problem, i have installed a few apps lately.
Soundcloud, and SGS Touch screen enhancer. I dont think it has anything to do with those apps.
Ram is usually around 60% usage and even when i tried turning on every single app and playing some games at the same time nothing happened! This happened only durring normal average usage and every 10 minutes. By the way my phone was charging during that time...maybe it has something to do wit that?
Art switching problem is because of xposed framework... Delete it and after this you can change runtime to ART....
Reboot's reason is that your phone uses more ram... My phone reboots when its ram is on 90%... Which governor and io schedule do you use?

gotcha. Well guess im stuck with dalvik
I use smartassv2 and row at 1.9ghz
why would it use MORE ram when i clear my ram on a regular basis (no auto clear apps though). i usually keep one or 2 apps open at a time at most 4. and try to keep usage to a minimum to increase battery life.

Just out of curiosity, what extra stuff do you use xposed for on CM11?
Anyone have luck solving this ?
It's not about the cpu. it's all about ram. use greenify to hibernate the unused apps that take ram like google+,maps... it worked for me and now i have 0 freezes and 0 reebots
