Droid 3 or 4G with rogers network? - Motorola Droid 3

I am currently using the Verizon Droid 3 unlocked on the rogers network. I am wondering once the 4g comes out on bell. Would there be any benefits from changing?

Any chance of running AT&T 3g network

What are the chances of the droid incredible s running at&t gsm network since this is a world phone?
Are you talking about the Droid incredible 2 from verizon? If it is, that phone would end up being the same as what happened to the Droid 2 global, gsm bands being locked down. That's just my guess.

Any of the Canadian versions (Bell/Sasktel) will work on AT&T if unlocked.
MTS, Bell, Sasktel, Telus and Rogers all use the same bands as AT&T.

[Q] Unlocking xt860 for USA

So i'm travelling to the states for 5 days and someone suggested to me instead of paying for a bunch of roaming add-ons from Bell, i may be better off to unlock my phone and get a sim card on a pay as you go plan. Is this possible and more importantly is it worth it?
Any advice is appreciated
I would personally bite the bullet. It'll probably cost you about $20 to unlock the phone and then you will have to get an AT&T SIM card or pay as you go, probably won't have data on it, etc etc... Last time I went down to the US I spent about $50 on roaming. You're only down there for 5 days, how much time do u want to spend screwing with your phone?
Another thing you could do is turn on airplane mode but keep the wifi turn on, and get a google voice number. Pair that with GrooVe IP, and you have a $5 wi-fi only solution.
The data is what I'm more interested in. My phone will double as my GPS unit, and Google search to find stuff to do. Bell charges 30 bucks for 10 MB.
I'm probably gonna e doing 4-5 trips a year to the states, on a pay as you go I could probably just reload everytime I go down, once I have the sim

Just go to Crackberry, go to the SIM unlocking section, find a site that allows you to unlock for free, then yeah T-Mobile has prepaid service, or maybe AT&T I don't know. Anyway, you get the idea.

would this work with tmobile's 4g/3g network?
Stanley,
AFIAK the 3G frequencies used by T-Mobile is AWS, which the XT860 is not compatible with.
Hey guys sorry just a quick question...
Would the Bell XT860 work on Rogers/Fido once it was unlocked? Has anyone actually tried it?
The reason I ask is because I've read that apparently the Verizon Droid 3 was not compatible with Fido/Rogers even after being unlocked.
Thanks
Bell XT860 definitely works on Rogers when unlocked. I'm using one right now on Rogers. (Just running the Chinese ME863 ROM on it right now). When i was on the stock Bell ROM it also worked fine.

I know nothing about this stuff, but google search tells me that t-mobile uses 1900 MHz GSM and 2100MHz UMTS which are both supported by the xt860. They also support HSPA+
does this not mean the xt860 should work on t-mobile?
The phone would need the phone to support the 1700mhz band as well.

Any success with unlocked XT860 working in the USA and getting 3G?
I read elsewhere, it will work on AT&T 3G?
Anyone, please?
All you should have to do is unlock the SIM slot.

I use an AT&T SIM in an unlocked Bell XT860 (and my carrier is actually Rogers) when travelling to the U.S. Everything works fine and I get the H symbol indicator.

Hey fireeater,
I just ordered an XT883 that will be unlocked and will be used with my T-mobile sim. T-Mobile uses 1700 & 2100 for their 3g while AT&T uses 850/1900. Do you know if the agreement between AT&T and T-mobile will allow the XT883 to get 3g with t-mobile?
Tmobile is refarming their 3g. So you will get 3g by the end of the year.

Roaming on the Verizon network

I'm a Canadian GSM user who visits the US about once or twice a year. Is it possible for me to roam on Verizon's network using this phone? I don't see any roaming agreements from my carrier with Verizon, so what would happen if I brought my phone down to the US? I know Droid 4 doesn't support US GSM carriers (no known hack is in place for it I guess either?). I was also considering that if I went for any length of time I might go on a pay-as-you-go plan with Verizon, but I'm not sure how much that would cost. I use Rogers as my carrier.
Thanks in advance
with the Droid4 in the US you need a 4G sim card to use it's network. otherwise you'd use your GSM phone and piggyback on AT&T's network.

Can I flash my HTC One to MetroPcs?

Basically my HTC one is in sprint & we do not have sprint Lte here in Vegas so I'm only getting 3g speeds. MetroPcs has 4g LTE all around Vegas. Us it possablefor me to flash my sprint HTC One to metro?
I could be wrong but Metro uses the same bands as Verizon and I don't think the One supports those yet

Hi all just read over the weekend that straight talk is now allowing Verizon 4g Lte phones on their service and getting the lte with a SIM using Verizon towers. So has anyone been able to flash a Sprint HTC one to Verizon and been able to get Lte with the Verizon SIM?
