I did not see a thread for this case, so I figured I would start one. You can view the case here:

I just got it for my Streak, and I am very impressed. The cover for the Streak itself fits well, with all the holes in the proper places (unlike the official T-Mobile leather case). The back has two good sized velcro pads which allow you to secure the Streak to the following part of the case for transport and when using the built in stand. The stand is magnetic, so it stays attached to the portfolio when not in use.
I have only had a day to test this case so far, but I have to say I really like it.

I got the other rooCASE, not the Executive, from company through Amazon for about $22 plus about $7 shipping (still a lot less than Walmart.com. I really like it and went with it over the executive because it looks like the Exec model has the front cover extending out in front of the DS7 when you're using it. In contrast, the regular zoocase has the unit sitting on the front of the case, and the velcrow allows for variable angles. Much better than no case at all, not only for the protection of the DS&, but also because it frees up both hands most of the time, balances nicely on the table, sofa arm, pillow, etc. Never use DS7 in portrait position, so I don't miss that option which the Exec model does give you.
(rooCASE-Multi-Angle-Leather-Streak-Tablet - on Amazon)
Bought this case a few weeks ago. The Roocase Executive Leather Case is ABSOLUTELY worth the price on Amazon, for me $37 shipped! The case not only is a leather book style case, but it also has dual HEAVY DUTY zippers to seal the case, which by the way, is EXTREMELY durable, well-made, and cushioned. Inside the case, on the left sleeve, there are 2 slip pockets for paperwork, small wireless keyboard or battery extender maybe(try it!)? On the right a separate, slimmer case that fits "flush" on the DS7(I found this to have a little play inside the case, but nothing the foam it was packed with couldn't fix).
BIGGEST FEATURE! This case has both a kickstand for the tablet and velcro on the slim case to allow for both Landscape and Portrait views!
I imagine that with a good 10000mah or Solar battery charger and a slim bluetooth keyboard, this case will become wholly convertible and versatile for any mobile needs!!
I think this is the same case but in imitation leather for $23 shipping from China. I have the acase now which isn't bad, but I think the fit on this might be a touch better and the material less padded for a slimmer overall design.
Might just stick with the acase ones because the Viewsonic 7x is looking pretty sweet. Just wish it'd have a full size SD. There's no adapter to go from micro to full size.

I'm currently using a MicroSD with an adaptor that makes it a full sized SD. They're pretty common in card readers, but not so much to purchase by themselves.
The point behind it is SD cards are still the standard in computers, cameras and such. And these aren't tiny phones and mp3 players. A full sized card slot can take a full size card and micro with adapater. A microSD slot is useless for full size. And with many having a plethora of full size cards (I have a 32gb, (3)16gb and a few 8gb ones), they become useless to share photos from the camera on the nice 7" screen, do some uploading to flickr, fb or sugarsync. There is plenty of room to put full size on these devices so I just don't understand why they do it.
I think all these tabs should have standard: microUSB, USB2.0, Full size SD and mini HDMI. Unless you're going for GT10.2 thin, it shouldn't be difficult. At least with usb2.0 you can plug in a card reader. That's somewhat of a compromise without needing a proprietary dongle.

I totally agree (one of the reasons I got the S7); I was just responding to you saying, "There's no adapter to go from micro to full size."
Leave it to me to pontificate when I just skim over a response on my phone

So I have now had the case for about a month, and I still really like it. The case works great both for protecting the Streak and acting as a stand. Only real issue I have had is the velcro pads on the case which goes around the Streak itself tend to pick up all sorts of odd stuff, but that is truly a minor complaint.
Honestly, I have yet to find a better case for the money I paid.

Can anyone recommend a windscreen mount that would meet my following requirements?
1. Must hold the HD2 securely (goes without saying) - but doesn't have to be specifically designed for the HD2
2. Under or around £10 (can't afford those £40-£60 'official' things!)
3. Must not block camera lens as I wish to record some of my journeys
4. Can swivel portrait/landscape without removing
I have found a fair view that 'might' meet these requirements but I'd like to know for sure.
- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AIO-PREMIUM-C...ries_MobilePhoneBatteries?hash=item2304e852d0 <--- this looks decent but I can't work out whether it blocks the lens or not??
(some more but I've lost the urls - loads on DX to choose from)
Any help's much appreciated!
Hi, I bought this one on eBay:
WINDSCREEN SUCTION CAR HOLDER & CHARGER FOR HTC HD2 LEO, the company is "e-Cell"
It arrived yesterday and it works the way you want it to - there is a hole for the camera lens, but not for the LEDs, and it swivels all the way round.
It costs £7.85, with free P & P, and includes a cigarette lighter power supply (which I haven't used yet).
I hope this helps.
EDIT: I checked and the item is no longer listed - perhaps they're out of stock.
Thanks John, I managed to find the one you're referring to via Google but as you say it's sold out: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200433261802
It looks very similar to the ones being sold by DX for other devices (currently none on DX for HD2), e.g.
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.18225
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.22814
It looks decent - how easy is it to put your HD2 into and remove it from the holder?
I've also found this super cheap universal one on DX: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.23565
...which allows full swiveling and most likely the top of the HD2 (camera, flash) would stick out from the holder making it accessible for filming. I may order this one as I can always give it to a friend if it doesn't work out, though I'm def still interested in more stuff like your link.
Cheers
The Capdase Car Mount will work.
Try E-CELL on E-bay. I bought mine there, it is a veryy good holder for the HD2 and cost app. 8 pounds.
Search ebay for this "Holder Mount USB Car Charger For HTC Touch HD2 Leo 100". Has opening for camera and holds phone in landscape which is good for copilot.
Hi,
This is for the e-Cell model:
If you imagine the phone in the landscape position, with the five buttons to the right, the phone slots into two grips left and right, at the bottom. These are fixed and don't move, but at the top, in the centre of the phone holder is another clip that flexes to allow the insertion and removal of the phone. This piece of plastic then clips onto a standard flexible arm windscreen mount, which in turn fixes to the windscreen with a suction cup. There is a ball joint on the back of the phone clip, which, when you've found your best position, can be tightened to lock the mount so that it will not move.
I've only used mine a couple of times and it's relatively easy to put in and remove the phone, perhaps a bit stiff at first, and I've found it easier to fit the phone into the holder first and then attach the complete assembly to the windscreen. It seems to work OK, so it may be worth waiting for e-Cell to get new stock, particularly as you also get a cigarette lighter charger, and it's only £7.85 with free postage.
This looks similar to the e-Cell model:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/car-pack-for-the-htc-hd2-p23420.htm but they're sold out too! The joint on this looks more sophisticated, but it's more than twice as expensive. There seems to be a hole for the lens, but the picture isn't very clear.
http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280435698894&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
mine, cheapest and camera effective, even if I'd prefer a joint-like arm instead of the one it's got
Hi Ephestione,
It's a pity we can't combine the best features of all the mounts. For instance, mine doesn't have the cushioned grips, so I'll have to be careful not to scratch the phone with the rigid clips.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Charger-Mount-Kit-Holder-for-HTC-Touch-HD-2-T8585_W0QQitemZ390175231504QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_MobilePhones_MobilePhoneAccessories_MobilePhoneBatteries?hash=item5ad8418e10
this one is available, exacly the same as ecell one, but will come "out of the box", and comes with a charger too. this seller also got the 1600mah andida battery.
for recording purpose, another good point is its having a strong and quite short metal neck that won't take cars vibrations as a long neck/flexible one would. definitely would recomend it.
Hi,
Yes, this is the same as the e-Cell item, and it works well. I paid a bit more because I was impatient and e-Cell seem to be UK based, so delivery was quicker. Some comments I found when I googled the holder questioned the location of the company, but I had no problems. I'll check out the battery, thanks.
I bought this and it will suit ur needs.
What is the ideal case for your Nook Color?
Is it one that is available or not?
What are some of the features you would like it to have?
Do you want a fold case that covers the screen?
Is the micro usb port in a convenient location?
Looking for some ideas. Working on a shell now for a mold. Not sure if anything will come of it but want to see what you all are looking for in a case. Feel free to post your thoughts. Thanks.
I would like to see a one sided hard cover that can protect the screen when not in use and snap onto the rear when in use. Probably use the typical four corner frame system you see in many cases so nothing is obstructed.
Also, have a stand "system" so that when it is snapped to the rear you can prop up the NC. Maybe something like what you see on back side of keyboards. And like some keyboards I've seen, have different levels of lift. One lift level that slightly raises the NC off the surface, for typing and such. Another lift level that is like the leg stand you see on the EVO 4G or Archos 70, for video/picture viewing and the like.
Heh. First post around here. Been meaning to chime in on a thread and this is the perfect one to start. Only because I've been looking for something I described but there is nothing out there yet.
I'm looking for an inexpensive silicone gel skin, something I'd keep on pretty much all the time. I'm also keeping my eyes open for sturdy travel case.
There seem to be choices out there for both, I'm just waiting a bit for more of them to hit ebay.
I missed your last question about the micro usb port. IMO its not in a good location because its awkward when trying to read while charging, particularly when reclining or lying down. I'm concerned about putting pressure on the usb cable, especially considering its not just a standard cheap cable. Not sure how a case will help this, though.

ill be trying out a few designs once the mold sets. i can add a ribbon cable in the case to move the USB port to the sides which I might try. trying to keep it thin but actually worth putting on.

Are you designing desktop/multimedia cases as well? I would love additional speakers on the NC and also a magnetic swivel X mount stand for desktop use.
My ideal case is not available yet. It is an envelope-like case that will allow me to pull the Nook out and use it naked. Something in nice black leather.
Something similiar to the covers of the TI calculators, with a little more thought about aesthetics obviously.
A 90deg connector or adapter would be nice. Then run the cable through the corner loop thingie.

Good Idea, I may try that out.
Im not any sort of professional or anything, but I do have access to some pretty sweet resin's and molding equipment. Carbon fiber is the idea, but the glass mold and how I want to do the front part comes first. Ill keep the thread updated.
ideal nook case
looking for something very close to this case
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040VNRTG/ref=oss_product
just substituting the swivel belt clip for a kickstand
i like the idea of moving the usb jack to another spot but i think that would add alot of cost and effort to the case build
Rube Goldberg lives; or, is this even possible?
You asked for the ideal, here is mine. Not at all sure it is doable....
1. In the interest of keeping the total package as slim as possible, no back, unless it is necessary to support other features.
2. [Front] cover has a slot for a pad of paper and/or corner slots for index cards.
3. [Front] cover is hinged on the right (I'm right handed and I want to be able to write easily).
4. [Front] cover has a foldover flap to keep the paper or cards from contacting the screen when the cover is closed.
5. The cover can fold 180 degrees so that the cover lies flat against the back of the tablet.
6. The cover can support the Nook as an easel in landscape mode.
7. The cover can support the Nook as an easel in portrait mode - this might involve some sort of short extension legs or other support to raise the lower edge of the Nook an inch or so (and this might help with the need to plug in the USB connector at the bottom).
8. Bonus points for the ability to fold out a handle attached at the lower left corner when in portrait mode, sort of like a hand mirror.
9. And of course it should be strong, light, durable, elegant, and less than $40 US.
I'm ready to order as soon as I see the pictures of the finished product.
Thanks for the ideas everyone. Haven't worked on it in a few due to being out at CES. Unfortunately there were NO cases out there. Working with Speck to find something but tried everything else and could not even find a nice slip cover. Otterbox said they are testing designs so no real info there either.
My ideal case is something like
http://shop.brando.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-case-with-bluetooth-keyboard_p05269c0299d057.html
this.
Bluetooth keyboard case, waiting for bluetooth to work for NOOK!! and I could use it as a netbook and a tablet. IDEAL.
This is my cheap (free) case for my nook color. It’s the zippered case for my trucks instruction manual. The patch covers the ford symbol; if I need to hide it in plain sight I can pull the patch off and leave it in the back seat. It fits perfectly and there is a plastic divider on the inside I can put business cards and a small pad of paper (as others have asked). All I keep in it is a set of skullcandy headphones in an microfiber Oakley sunglass bag for cleaning the screen.

Perfect case for the Nook Color
Before I bought my Nook, I had a Pandigital Novel that I bought on eBay.
In the same eBay search results page the Novel appeared on was a great case called BookArmor. Although it was $35, I bought it. And I haven't regretted it either.
The BookArmor case comes with a set of velcro-like pads that stick on the back of the tablet and allow it to be fixed to the case. The case itself is laminated steel and plastic covered with textured fabric. It zippers shut and the zipper sides are soft and stay out of the way when the case is opened. You have total access to all side buttons and ports. The inside surface that comes in contact with the screen is covered with a soft foam pad.
When I decided to get the Nook, I found out that the case I had for the Novel is the exact same case for the Nook Color. I really like this case and haven't even considered another one.
For more info go to extremeinkjet.com and click on BookArmor cases in the blue left-hand column. Pick any Delta 6 case ... there is a Nook Color one. Checkout their video at the bottom of the page.
It looks like this case is really popular too ... there aren't any left on eBay and the extremeinkjet site shows all out of stock for the Delta 6 case. Amazon shows one Delta 6 left for the Pandigital (same case) but it doesn't even show up for Nook Color.
I don't know if I'd call it perfect. But, I bought the B&N case with the vertical flap and ribbon with magnet on the end to hold it closed/open. It works well for me.
If they were available in store when I bought my nook, I would have also considered the silicone one. Although, if I went that route, I'd probably prefer the otter box version with the hard resin exterior an rubber liner. I would also have considered the black leather pouch one where you completely remove the nook to use it.
Alas, none of these were available to me when I made my purchase so I'm using what I have.
With either the otter box or the silicone I would gain a thinner form factor. But, I would never be able to completely cover the screen. With the pouch one, I would gain the thin form factor when using and would not add much when transporting. But, it's basically just a branded leather sleeve.
In the end, what drew me to the case that I bought was the vertical flap and ribboned magnet. 1 - with the horizontal flapped ones, the magnet does not flip around to hold the flap to the back of the case so it's open like a book with the flap dangling out the right side. 2 - with the vertical one that I got, you flip the cover over the top, move the magnet to the back to hold the cover in place and you have all your nooky goodness to go to town with!
Just my 2 cents.

Wow...love love love this idea.
This would be great..a hard protective slide case.
This would definitely be a $$$ maker.
I bought a "Industriell Cover in Storm" cover and it works perfectly, very simple, protects the screen, and it's small.
I'm stealing your "DON'T PANIC" sticker on the back idea. thanks for reminding me.
I just picked one up at Best Buy. Very nice case for traveling with your NC.

Wow way to expensive , my leather laptop case witch is a whole lot bigger is cheaper than that, look else where my friend
They are happy with what they got and wanted to share. Hell I spent $72 on my leather oberon tree of life case. I couldn't be happier. To each their own.

sorry not able to post links yet - change dot to .
works great. Protects, has a lil room in the top zipper pocket for SD cards, stylus, data cable, etc. Does fit the charging block too, but it's a tiiiight fit and kinda puts pressure where the screen is inside so i'm weary about loading it in there.
Looks nicer than the one above too They have a black, a blue and another. They had a really nice green one on the m-edge site (Android anyone?) but I can't seem to find them in retail stores or online.
Got the blue one online from m-edge after seeing the original nook one at best buy. Love it.
Nook vs NC version
I've read that the NC can fit into the Nook version of the Latitude Jacket, but note that the NC version has a built-in bracket that the NC snaps into to hold it tight.

I tried this. I don't recommend it. The one I got from best buy when i was under the impression the nook and nook color were the same size gave me some issues.
1) leather loop corners (no idea how to describe these) to hold it in. Not a snug fit
2) The corner on the top left made direct contact with the power button as it went over the nook. It turned on several times on me.
thanks for the info
I'm looking for a case to carry my spare batteries for my Bionic. Prefer something non metal. Right now I have a Altoids case with the batteries wrapped so the contacts don't touch the metal case. I prefer something that isn't to large or makes noise against my keys.
Ideas? Thanks in advance for input.
Depending what else you carry/use, I would consider the Pelican case memory card holder... I use it for toting spare cards for my camera, but I could also see it as a good size to hold the battery and maybe a card or two if I 'fix' the insert -> I can't post a link, but if you google it, you can find their site and its about $16 each on clearance although I am pretty sure i paid less a while ago.
Perhaps a plastic cigarette case? I think a battery (at least the standard one) is slimmer than a smoke, should fit just fine. Extended, I am not sure as I haven't seen one up close.
I bought this on Amazon and it was delivered today. I paid $12.99 delivered with prime. This is a super easy way to use external storage with the Note 5. I opened the box, popped in my 128gb micro sd, and the phone immediately recognized it. Photo viewing or movie watching is seamless as if the card was in the phone itself. It's about a 1x1 inch square sticking out the bottom of the phone and isnt too annoying, but I pull it out before I throw the phone in my pocket. The little rubbery protective case is nice and there's a micro to regular usb adapter to plug into other stuff. Not bad for 13 bucks.
do you have a case on your phone, and if so, does it fit into the phone while the case is on?
I have this same thing and I have a couple Spigen cases and it works just fine with the cases I have. This is a great little product for devices that have no SD card slot.

Yes, I have an Incipio DualPro case and it fits. I'm trying out a really rugged case from Poetic tomorrow and I'll see if that fits too. I'll include some pics of both cases.
I have it too. I keep it on a keychain but am annoyed that the USB adapter is separate - I wanted that on the keychain too. Also the USB adapter stopped working. I just bought this that meets all the requirements... we'll see how it works when I get it... http://m.ebay.com/itm/Micro-SD-TF-T...3D161876565555&_trksid=p2056116.c100408.m2460
