[Q] new android market for incredible rom - Droid Incredible Android Development

hi all, i have absolutely loved all the new 2.1/3.0 sense roms but due to the lack of a kernel that does not suck the battery life i have switched back to salvage aosp. with the incrediblek kernel and setcpu i get about 3 1/2 days out of the extended 3500mah battery! anyways, unfortunately there is no more development on this rom and it still sits on the old market. does anyone have an updated .apk i can install for the new android market?
thanks!

I easily get close to 2 days (2100mAh battery) on Newtoroot's Optimized shift 2.4. Just in case you want to give it a shot.

Which ROM you think is the best and you are using it?

Hello,
i took the ROMS that are currently on the 1st page... I know there are plenty more, but i wanted to use the ones on the first page of this forum....
I used GOT and was pretty happy, used CM and was even more, and then MIUI, but i think i will go back to CM...
Since yesterday I use the CyanogenMod and just wondering why I was with GOT's all this time.. CM is the best. As simple as that.

Froyomod isn't that stable, at least in my case.
CM for Milestone by nadlabak is still the best.
weird, for me any roms beside Froyomod will have that freaking annoying random reboot issue.
FroyoMod having best battery use time
With the latest CM - i never had even 1 reboot... It's probably the smoothest version of a phone i had since my Nokia 6210 back in 2000... (kidding...)
Its definitely the smoothest version i had on my Milestone, and actually no problems whatsoever. First time no reboots at all on my phone..

This.
With CM I just got 48 hours of use on one-charge this weekend, and not a single force-close or crash. Cannot say the same about the other Froyo-Mods
i like miui the best, its very smooth and has the best design and awesome battery life!
i unpluuged it at 6:15 am and now at 4:30 pm i still have 70% battery, and i played 45 minutes angry birds, doodle jump and pocket legends and surfed around the web for at least half an hour, i was writing several sms and phoned some people!
and in my opinion it has the best usability with the integrated battery saver and the smartass governor!
I have tried most of the roms and have concluded that ultimate droid is the most responsive smoothest and the best battery life with the built in over clocking

the rom is only for the Motorola Droid but not for our milestone.. he must accidently picked milestone android developing instead of droid android developing
Telus lite V5... its not up there, but in my experience its blown everything else out of the water.
until now, 2.2.1 still not stable so I decided to use 2.1 and TelusliteV5 is best choice. Smoothest and great battery life.
Cyanogen has rapid development and code is verified which should give best quality but after testing FroyoMod I voted for it because I don't have any issue at this point and it is smoothest rom of all that I have used no mater that it was stock or mod rom.
Foryo has lots of cyanogen goodness and ads its own like crystal talk, gallery 2d
Cyanogen here. Most complete and customisable rom imo. Very fast. Very stable. Rapidly updated to fix bugs as discovered.
Actually I own an evo and you can just google ultimate droid forums and u can find the website you have to register to download it but it is worth the time I promise you

Hello guys!
For now, i'm using the ShadowMod BR.
A rom developed by a guy in my country (Brazil). The project is very good. There's no issues and everything works. I don't know about CM rom's but this rom is very fast and stable. And have all languages support.
So, if somebody want's to try just search on google for ShadowMod BR
ill say chronos rom its what ive been useing and i liek it very fast and stable
I use miui with launcher pro as i get all the setting and apps from miui can add themes
icons etc and still have very stable phone with good battery life

[Q] Which Rom is the stablest and smoothest ...

Hi ....
Perhaps you can help me and say which rom is the stablest and smoothest and fastest for the LG Optimus 2X P990 ... i have tried a lot of roms but they all have bugs ...
The fastest and stablest for me was this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1032419 and then the 1.5 a version i think but the new version should be fine.
CM7 is also good since it uses less battery but there are some bugs in it still.
I'm a bit of a newbie to the O2X but I've tried a few roms and I've found that the modaco fr15 fear edition is pretty much like stock with a few nice tweaks so it's very stable from what I've seen so far, they've stripped pretty much everything out that you don't need so it's pretty quick too (well very quick).
I've put the over clocking kernel on too and with it over clocked to 1.4 ghz I've got 3976 on Quadrant. But after a while I started to get a few fc's so I put it back down to stock and everything was fine again.
I'm not saying this is what you should do, but I'm just letting you know my experiences with what I've tried so far.....
Also new to this forum. Anyway, I am using Fear r15 and have no problems at all. Very smooth, although I am missing some of my favorite LG Widgets ( Memo and Calendar ) , it is the stability without lags that made me switch to Fear ROM.
I'm on Modaco FR16(beta 4), and it's fast & smooth, and kind to your battery. My only problem is that my Exchange account keeps on disappearing, but it could be my Exchange server.

I'm thinking of going onto this rom cos I have noticed the fast battery drain on fr15... But i have only had the phone for a couple of days and i didn't really get a chance to see what it was like on stock, so I don't know whether its normal.
One thing I did notice was the fact the the music app is constantly running and even my task killer wont stop it. I know I probably dont need a task killer but its habit since I had my G1 many moons ago...
I'm using the CM7 nightlies and am very pleased with them. There are a few bugs and issues to be worked out (eg: no 801.2x support for WiFi), but for the most part, I'm very satisfied.
I only lost 5% in 10 hours with GMail push on .

Thanks a lot. LG Memo and Calendar is up and running.
I'm running CM7 nightly as well. The battery drain is basically non-existence and everything running smoothly. It also has quite a nice collection of customization options. If you can live with a few bugs then it's the rom to go!

Install Battery Calibration, charge to full then calibrate battery
You can also do the same by charging to full then wipe battery stats in recovery.
CM has a full list of APNs if there are some which aren't in use delete them off.
Flash your Radio to 0218, seem to work better than 0405 regarding battery issues. This will be at the expense of some call quality, to me it is worth it.
I am using CM7 at the moment and I have no intention of switching back.
Ive been using CM7 build 20 for some days and there was several things that was missing. It was stabel, but was using a great deal of battery.
So I switched over til BlazingDragon v1.7. This one is working wherey nice. Its based on the stock LG ROM so its only Android 2.2.2. CM7 is ver. 2.3.4.
Now i see that Modaco fr17 is out, but there is so many custom ROM out there so now Im not sure what to.
CM7 is getting better for every built they give out, but its not that good yeat, but Im sure it will be great when RC versjon is ready.
how about WGSPOELSTRA?
Im very happy with the latest madaco. CM is still way to unstable.

CM7 vs Sense Battery Life

There should be a thread for this in every phone section.. For those who have recently changed from the infamous sense to the Vanilla Gingerbread Experience ie. CM7, how do you find the battery life. Better or worse? And if there are any kernels that you find give it much more juice in a charge please list below. I find that after my CM7 'upgrade' without any kernel changes that I am getting much better life in a day.

I guess there isn't that many CM7 users yet.

It's the main reason I want to s-off my cell phone right now. Battery life is next to nothing with Sense.
If it weren't for Android 2.3.3., we would all be using rooted Incredible S's.
Actually there are quite a few CM7 users now, if the download stats are to be believed.
Just a minor point: CM7 is not 'vanilla' Android at all, it has quite a lot of extra features, tweaks and customisations compared to the base Android system.
I'm in a dilemma right now.
I got my Incredible S a few days ago and everything works fine. After a bit of reading, I figured I was lucky to have the 2.2.1 version of the phone since it would allow me to either S-Off it or upgrade to Gingerbread.
Sense is fine and all, but I'm thinking of rooting the phone to be able to install custom roms in order to get better performance and more customization options. I'm mostly wondering how 2.3 with sense runs on the Incredible S compared to 2.2 with sense.
So root or go gingerbread with sense, which is the best thing to do?
Im using CM7 RC1 - have been since i s-off'd my IncS about 3-4months ago
cm7 on here has been clean, with no major issues - battery life for me has been great, im quite a heavy user, listen to alot of music, always tweeting or on facebook.
for me it lasts the whole day and feels to be better than when i was on stock sense.
Sense had too much other stuff running whilst i was "playing about" and would drain the battery alot quicker.
For me CM7 is the ideal rom for this phone, ive tried others but always came back to CM7

Simple. Root and then install a ROM that's based on the official Gingerbread update... you can have it all!

Just don't upgrade OTA to the official 2.30.405.1.
Read more here.
i've always found that sense was waay too much, i mean too much comes out of the box.
For me battery in CM7 works a bit longer then it stock, but in revolution hd + nosense script battery works even longer.
Also another reason I like it so much if because its using android almost the way it was supposed top be used.. Not with all of the bloatware and stuff
Swyped from my HTC Incredible S
I tried sense for a few days and it lasted about 23 hours on average. I installed Cyanogenmod7 just now, I'll come back with an update!
Am on Android Revolution HD after rooting and the battery life is better compared to the stock HTC 2.2 or 2.3 ROM. I have the Sense 3.0 addon installed with ARHD - a full charge usually lasts me 1.5days with moderate usage.
I think i'm gonna try ARHD with no sense script and see how it lasts..
MODS/ADMINS: Can you please change the title of this thread to "Comparing ROM Battery Life" or something of the genre.
Much appreciated.
I've been using Cyanogenmod7 for a few days now and I can't say that I've noticed any significant differences with Sense.

Best ROM For Battery Life - Personal Experience?

Hey guys. I might be Rooting and flashing soon, and I'm looking for which ROM I should go for.
I was looking for one with good battery life (I use my phone for Music, Game's Etc.) and hopefully a ROM that has better battery life then stock.
I was also looking for one that had Sense 3.0.
Any chance such ROM exists? Any one tried a few Sense 3.0 Rom's and has had good battery life from one?
Thanks

Virtuous unity 2.35 does go good.... The sense 3.0 is just amaZIng! IF U WANT I'LL POST THE LINK HERE...
arhd is good too but then its over clocked to 1.5Ghz by default, so alot has complained for it doesn't boot up, stays in the HTC screen.
This ROM too gives u amazing performance but its mostly the users taste here...
And not to forget, Coredroid ROM... Man this ROM OS simply fantastic, I've used it before just because of the backlight issues removed it, the backlighta aka the 4 menu butons, doesn't work sadly.... But, there's gonna be an update soon, so yeaaaaaa! It's gonnna have sense 3 with the backlights fixed too...
Hope this helps....

well, as pointed out , the choice is very personal.
it depends on your preferences as there are some differences in most of the major roms.
so far i've tried ARHD, CM7, MIUI & Virtuous unity.
CM7 is quite good if you are interested in having a non-sense rom but the functionality, stability is top notch. CM7 has set a standard not just for stand alone developers but for corporate production as well.
ARHD is a very popular rom and most people using it will swear by it.
it is sense based, and it will feel like a charged up stock rom.
very professional as well.
MIUI is what i used the longest & i must admit it is a brilliant rom in the fact that it stands out in appearance & customization.
every app and every part of the system is beautified and it feels like a totally different phone. if you are looking to have a 'different' yet amazing phone, MIUI is the way to go.
but the major drawback with MIUI is that it is not officially supported for the INCs and thus there are some minimal bugs which can get a bit annoying.
And of course it has no app drawer, works like the iphone.
this can be handled by the wonderful app created by a member here called alt drawer.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154299
i feel this is a must for MIUI.
finally, using VU at the moment and i feel it is a perfect blend of sense components and that little something extra.
looks, feels and works amazingly well, minimal bugs and almost feels like the perfect rom again...
i did however run into a few loop boots recently, but i think that can be worked on.
that's my personal opinion on all the roms...
and i think it would be a good opportunity to give a heartfelt 'thank you' for all the developers here working so damn hard on providing world class roms for us.

The great thing about rooting and flashing is that you can create a back up and from there flash everything possible until you find what your looking for. One thing to remember is that you cannot kill your phone flashing new roms as they do not change your BIOS.
Thanks for all your replies guys - does anyone have a link to ARHD?
Sounds quite good
EDIT: ARHD Isn't full Sense 3.0, might leave that one... is Virtuous Unity a good one to go with then? (No bugs, good battery etc.)
i refer to ARHD 1.1.6
with kernel 4

Thanks Nabeeltanz for quoting my post
well, to add to the above post, i have personally experienced MIUI to have the longest battery life among all the ROMS.
My usage is quite heavy, 3g on all day, regular surfing with streaming of music for most part, a little gaming here and there, emailing and of course the messaging and calls. most of the ROMS i've used lasted me a full day.. MIUI did a little more.. consistently it would last for close to 2 days. it would definitely need recharging by the end of the second day..
but compared to the stock rom, all the custom roms do provide good enough battery life.

Just so say, I'm using Virtuous Unity and it's been brilliant so far.
To all those guys that use CM7 Nightlies (Test Release) with timat 1.1.4 , just want to clarify with you guys that do you guys get crashes on it?
I downloaded the latest test release last night and flashed it after I flashed my ROM and I've got to say that I keep get crashes (com.android.phone process has ended) . So what is the ROM that I should flash? Is it the stable version or the test version.
and can I flash the kernel (timat 1.1.4) on my Virtuous Unity 2.3.9? So what is that is power saving? The kernel or the ROM or both together? (im confused)

I did a full wipe using ARHD 's (Super Wipe) and also using my Clockworkmod's wipe . I performed a NANdroid before flashing (of course im scared) . I had problems on the nightly ROM as I don't know why my Airplane mode keeps turning on by itself.
It will be great if you can help me by posting the exact link for the ROM you use and the kernel you used and even the recovery you used to wipe your entire ROM before flashing the new one ..
I'm still using VU 2.3.9 and I just realized that my battery life sux the previous time because I didnt flash the kernel of VU 2.3.9 (LOL) . I just flashed it and I'm currently letting it run to see how well is the battery.
as smartphone users, most of our main concern is the battery usage.. I would very much like to use CyanogenMod 7 Nightlies but just that I have second thoughts about it because it didnt have the "Quick Settings" or HTC keyboard that I was using on my VU . and I can't find and nice framework which is suitable..
so i guess if you could help me on this issue. I'll really appreciate it .

[Q] best rom for only phone usage

Hi guys, I got this phone for free with bell mobility as my 2nd phone for my business line. I'm going to be using this phone only to make phone calls. No internet, ever. No wifi, maybe some bluetooth once in a while. No games, no apps. I have a Galaxy nexus for that.
Which rom would be the best for good battery life?
Thanks guys
Talking about the battery life and from personal experience,I would suggest using MIUI rom. The battery lasts for at least 2-3 days(for me) with normal use(wifi, music etc),so should go a far way if only used for calls.
Alternatively, if you prefer Sense UI,I've heard good things about the battery life of Android Revolution HD.
Finally,it's always best to just test several roms yourself in real life situations for several days, and then picking the rom which suits you best.
after playing with it a bit I'm not a big fan of sense...
I'll give miui a try, thanks

What version of MIUI do you use? There are so many I was going to wait for the updated galnetmiui ics one.
I would take the CM7 Nightly#146 and edit the .zip file and remove all the .apk files from system/app that you don't need.
That will give you a very light ROM.
