Friends
I use my Tab for my lectures with powerpoint presentation. The RCA cable connecting my Tab with LCD projector is short so to change slides I have to stoop between each slide.
Can I change slides with my other Android phone Galaxy S2?
If so how to connect them together?
Please give ur reply in detail because I am a doctor and my technical acumen is little short.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
You'll probably need to be rooted, but you can install a VNC server on the Tab, and control it with a client on your phone.
Here's a similar thread on the Xoom forum.
VNC is a great app ..
Will give a try

Thanx Burhan for ur suggestion. Will give a try today.
Its ugly, but it works.
Working but need some help
Well friends
Rooted my Tab and installed VNC server.Installed VNC client in my Galaxy s2.Connected via wifi[have to open mobile AP in Tab].
Tab screen is mirrored in my GS2 screen.I can remotely open any programmes and operate the Tab from my GS2 screen.Good work sofar.
But when i swipe my fingers on GS2 screen to change powerpoint slides, sometimes it works and other-times there is no response.
What i want is some sort of keyboard appering on my GS2 screen so that i can change slides by clicking next.
Can our esteemed friends here show me a VNC client software which has keyboard controls only?[If not available,Can you please make it?]
Thank u one and all.
I was asking myself this same question and stumbled upon this app:

Webkey, made by a XDA member to remotly control you android device from your browser. ROOT REQ tho .

Hey all,
3 have started carrying this and I received mine earlier this week
Have already been through the forums for a few tricks and tips....although I'm pretty sure 3 have done their magic again and they have customised the phone to a large extent.
For example on the home page the 2 buttons at the bottom are Contacts on the left and Planet 3 on the right......guess what I cannot find anywhere to change PLanet 3 to something else LOL
Also in the Comms Mgr the Data Connection option is not available as is the Microsoft Direct Push......both greyd out
If pics are helpful I'll post some later
well...

SoftKey's changer software is not provided with official roms. You should search for an app, which will allow you to change the softkeys.

There is quite a lot of info on the forum and you can easily get lost LOL
I'll check the 2 suggestions though and see how it goes.
I've just tried connecting to the internet as well via my WiFi and when I am using Windows Live (which came with the phone) although connected on WiFi it will still launch GPRS for it...Opera seems to work fine with WiFi

Or you can PM me for that one.

My TytnII from 3 arrives tomorrow. I've been looking forward to this for ages and finally they phoned me and offered me an early upgrade yesterday.

I want to quickly thank the members of this forum for all the software devlopment and "how to"s they provide. Me and my AT&T Tilt thank you.
I've been looking for a thin client. If you are familiar with other programs like Microsoft Terminal Services Connection (MSTSC), VNC, or Citrix then you know what I'm taking about.
I've searched with several keywords nad it's the first thing I havn't been able to find here on xda-developers.
Stop reading here if you don't care why I'm asking for this.
I work for a small business and part of my responsibility is IT help desk. Recently I've started working on my degree and am out of the office every afternoon.
If I get a help desk call and am at home I started using VNC on my home PC to check out their desktop. This usually cuts my calls from half an hour to five minutes. Seeing as I'm not paid for time this is a good thing.
Soon I'll be spending much more time on campus. Actually, the main reason I bought this phone was so that I could support my office immediately while remaining mobile.
So, does anyone know of a good thin client I could use? Thanks in advace.

Is it integrated into WM6.1 (and I've missed it) or is it a download I need to get?
I'm definitely willing to give it a shot.
Sorry for my noobishness. I've only had my phone for about two weeks now.

A bit of research shows that it should be part of WM 6 but I do not have it for some reason. I don't know what the local forum rules are so I'll err on the side of safety and just say searching google for "Window Mobile Remote Desktop Client" will quickly lead you to a solution for re-installing the application if you do not have it.
Thank you for the help.
Anyone seen an app like this for the Android? I would love to be able to control my laptop whenever I hook it up to the HDTV.
http://www.mobileairmouse.com/
Haven't seen one for Android, but I've used a purpose built airmouse before for presentations.....it worked surprisingly well!
Something like this for Android would be excellent....also lots of fun to screw with your co-workers....almost as much fun as the Annoy-o-tron.
Well... there is an app that I have used called RemoteDroid. You need to have a small java app running in the background of the pc that you want to control but it basically turns your phone into a touchpad mouse. You can also check out Android Joystick which is basically the same concept except you tilt the phone the direction that you want to move. Kinda beta-ish and possibly abandonded but it's worth a look. I'm sure that there are more out there though. I did a search on Market for the word "Remote" and came up with a several varity of possible apps that may work for you. However as far as I can tell... there is no "Mobile Air Mouse" specific to the Android phones as of yet. It looks pretty interesting though.
GMote works for me.

hmmm, i just checked the website again and I see it listed under the FAQ. Seems like that would be a feature they would want on the front page and in the screenshots...lol
If you just need trackball and keyboard support, RemoteDroid does it. Plus, RemoteDroid doesnt need to be installed on your computer just a 74.1 KB zip file with a java file needs to be run. Gmote requires you to download a 23 MB install file.
Gmote does have a larger install...but I can use my phone to control the computer, with Keyboard/trackpad/ball, and make my computer start playing music/vids, Open a web site I was reading on the phone, and play my music directly from the PC on my phone...so...yeah it's bigger...but it's also better, at least for me =). Also, running windows 7 here, remotedroid lags a LOT for me.
Thanks for the info.
I ended up having to install Gmote on my MacBook Pro. RemoteDroid wouldnt work for some reason on my Mac but Gmote works just fine. RemoteDroid works fine on WinXP though.
Question about Gmote: Is there a way to show mouse buttons on the touchpad?
Unfortunatly that is the one thing that I have been waiting for. Currently I can't click and drag due to the lacking button/multitouch.
But it still rocks =D
This is what you want
Android air mouse.
www dot mobilongtech dot com
I am not allowed to post external link. sorry for that.
gremote pro by GBM software works flawlessly.
premotedroid works successfully too.
Does anybody know any application that emulate mouse via accelerometer like Logitech MX Air Mouse?
Bluewave air mouse is nice. However, currently no accelerometer based app exists that I know of. The air mouse app on the iPhone doesn't really work flawlessly, I like trackpad apps much better. However: accelerometer + get it working as a bluetooth mouse = heaven.

I have found the app that do this - MultiRemote.
In settings you can turn on wiiMode and after that move the mouse via phone position.
In top-bottom it works good, but for moving left-right I need to change the angle of phone (to left or right), but better will be to detect direction via compass or something else.
Or another method - detect not angle, but moving the device (top, bottom, left, right) - is it possible?
Does accelerometer detect only angle changing? Or it can detect device moving (accelerating and stopping)?
How does the program like Shwartz detects phone moving?
I use phone my pc. It has keyboard/mouse function. Control live/remote desktop style, control specific processes and such, and many more options.
The Best, hands down

RemoteDroid sucks, with Gmote you have to keep CMD running. The best by far is PhoneMyPc, it's around 10$, but you could get it free. Here's how, you'll need the aforum app, once in go to shared topics. The post is 3 months old so scroll a bit, the topic is (I'm hosting this site, plenty of apps for android etc.) There's a link that will take you where you need to go. The benefits of this app are, you can control as many computers as you want from anywhere in the world and can be used as a mouse, or you can interact live with your PC, keyboard from it and everything, works fine on 3G and even better with wifi, it's a beautiful thing, trust me. When I'm doing something on the computer and I have to fly, I can finish up from my phone on my PC. Some shots so you can see a bit.
Okay folks, so what's the last word on this one? Is there, or is there no Android app that does what www.mobilemouse.com does on iPhone? I am specifically interested in the "air mouse" bit, which means accelerometer-based cursor movement, no trackpad or other garbage. Does GRemote do that? Anyone tried it?
P.S. Ideally, the app should turn the Android phone into a Bluetooth HID air mouse, so that no SW has to be installed on the PC.

A nicer way to do it would be good, but to click and drag: click and hold the trackball and drag on the touchpad.
This software lets you use the keyboard on your Fuze/Touch Pro as a wireless keyboard and the touchscreen as a Touch Pad Mouse like the kind on a laptop. Unfortunately this software is not free but they do have a trial version that you can try and the only limitation is it forces you to reconnect after every 30 clicks. This program can use either WIFI or Bluetooth to connect to your computer and pretty much lets you do anything from controlling Vista Media Center and Winamp to controlling your computer as long as you can write a script.
The software is called Salling Clicker
http://www.salling.com/
The program uses scripts that people create and post on the forum. I wrote this script a long time ago for my HTC Hermes to control my computer.
I don't know anything about programming or coding but I managed to write this script in about one night after reading a few basic tutorials and help from the forum members on Salling's forum. Since I put this together without any real knowledge this script is really basic but get the job done. If anyone wants to improve the script your welcome too, perhap you can smooth out the mouse movement and sensitivity even more.
Installation Instructions
1. Download and install the software on your PC
2. Pair up your phone with the computer by Bluetooth or use Wifi
3. Choose the correct phone from the drop down menu ( Touch Pro in this case) and it will begin to install the client software to your Phone.
4. Download my script and unrar into My Clicker Scripts located in My Documents
5. Open up the host software on your PC and drag the script called "HTC Universal Keyboard and Mouse" from the right box into the left box labeled "Items available on your handheld device".
6. Start up the program on your Fuze and establish a connection and choose the "HTC Universal Keyboard and Mouse" script to run
7.??????
8. Profit!

Not that i use it alot, but yea gremote is great. Using your phone for a steering wheel for racing games works great. Or if you got a decent set of speakers, you can change the songtrack or volume from the backyard while your planting your two-lips.

Same here. I tried a Logitech wireless keyboard with touchpad that's specifically made to use with a PS3. The zoom feature was aweful when using the web browser, so I returned it.
There's a way to format the PS3's hard drive to either boot up like a normal PS3 or boot up like a Linux computer. I'm gonna check the PS3 forums to see if there's any info posted about using a WinMo device.

Alright this app doesn't exist but I'm encouraging it to be supported and developed.
So today I was browsing on my new notebook and my phone went off, it was only a notification text message but I was feeling polite and so I got my phone and looked and saw what it was.
I've seen apps that can view the pc from the g1, but I want to view my g1 from my p.c. Not just a notification bar or some small poorly done UI. But a full on good looking desktop view of my g1 to where I can dismiss, reply, and explore my g1.
Way of doing this: USB, Wifi, Bluetooth etc.
Get it?
:]
Hope so.
So if this could be developed I'd appreciate it and I know a lot of other people would too.
Sorry this response isn't *particularly* helpful, but I will add that this is definitely possible on Windows mobile, albeit via a paid-for app. It definitely worked over USB and may have worked over wifi/bluetooth too, can't remember. However, even over bluetooth, the display updating was slightly laggy. Sorry but I can't remember the name of the WM app.
Best of luck.

I don't think that it would be so hard to develop such a program for pc because you can already pull up a screenshot using ddms.bat of your g1. We can also already control (limited... but capable) the g1 with adb. So if a user interface could be created to access your g1 live from your computer, I think that would be ideal. It would be sort of like using the emulator, but it would be your phone and in real time. Good idea indeed. Too bad that I don't know anything about programming.
