i bougth this galaxy ace s5830l (carrier :claro -puerto rico) and im lil confusse is the s5830l different to the s5830 or are in fact the same one ?
I had a galaxy L, the only change is that the L is the american model, appart form that, there's no change at all , the only thing it's that we can't flash european ROMs (KPH,KPN, etc) The only ROMs we can flash are these:
2.3.4 8 (Vivo) Comes from brasil, the only change is that your phone model will change from L to B (I'm using this, works pretty fine!, if you flash it, dont put the CSC file)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144575
and this one: (I haven't used it and don't know nothing about it, but I've read it works fine too)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1206112
hope I answered your question! if I did, please press the ''THANKS'' buttom!
Uhmm good to know. So I suppose it is not recommendable to flash any of those ROM found here? Too bad, cause I really wanted to have a shot at a couple of them.
If only u can unlock ur fone.

You can flash any 5830 ROM. The only difference is the hspa frequencies so you have to use a south American modem.

I have a galaxy note with italian baseband. My question is can I flash it with another region's firmware (asian firmware)?
Yes you can!
Yes.You can always flash any region firmwares on your phone. But the firmware should belong to your phone model.i.e N-7000 firmwares on N-7000,and I-917 firmwares on I-917.Which means firmwares are devices specific and not region specific
If you cant understand any of the above, the exact answer for your question is yes you can
would this affect my warranty? & flash count? and another question could i directly flash with an older firmware, im currently on 2.3.6 i was wondering if i could flash 2.3.5?

1.It wont affect warrant as long as you are in stock firmware. But if you have a network locked device I'm not sure because I have no network locked device in my region. If you have international unlocked note, you are 100% covered by warranty as long as its stock
2.Stock roms dont increase counter.Only custom roms do
3.You can flash any GB rom when you are in GB(to make it simple IMO)
Does this also apply to other devices?
That it is possible to use different firmwares.
(in this particular case LG optimus black p970)
Yup

Yes you can. You can us Odin for PC to do it. Do some searching on the n7000 forums and you will find all the necessary files and flashing tools.
I recommend checking out this excellent thread by Dr. Ketan http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
It explains everything in detail so you should be good to go if you read through it properly.
Hope this helped and good luck!

As long as the hardware is same in both phones.........
I have galaxy Ace S5830L and I want to have arabic support for it, so could I flash it using a stock rom for S5830I for arabic region ?? or shoud I do something else ?? it is on 2.2.1 right now.
You can't.. or atleast shoudn't install a ROM for S5830i when your phone is S5830L ... S5830i has different hardware from S5830L, so its most likely to get bricked.
I can't believe there is still people with froyo on their ace
Install the latest version of gingerbread for S5830L = here -> http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-S5830L&r=-1#modelsa
You can download any of them, could be according to your country or the latest one which is S5830LUBKPL
Then root your galaxy ace and try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1083688
I have never tried it, but looks like works for people.
it's not my phone , I have GS2 with ICS on it but it's my friend phone and he needs all the phone to be in arabic not just the browser,, I mean all the menus if that is possible and thnx alot for your response
Let me ask you something first...
Why does he have a GT-S5830L ? It's a latin american phone... Unless he is latin american and knows arabic? Make sure its an L and not an i
He could download S5830JPKP9 (2.3.3) Which is for Iraq...
Although Is not the latest versions, im sure it supports arabic language, might be there are other ROMs that support it but can't be sure.
When he goes to Settings > About Phone
What does it say in "Baseband Version" ?
Sorry it took me too long to replay, it's S5830L yes for latin america, but I tried to flash the one for Iraq as you suggested and everything went perfect and now it supports arabic
Thnx for your answer and help.
And why he has it because we, here in syria, don't have an official htc store. So all the phones are sold by dealers who bring the phones from different places.

Hi
I just bought a new Galaxy Note (but not from the provider) so I have no idea in which country it was released.
Now I'm trying to download a stock ICS rom from SamMobile but I don't know which rom (pda/csc) to choose.
my Note displays these infos :
pda n7000xxlc1
phone n7000xxlb2
csc n7000oxxlb3
but when I look for roms that match my pda/csc I find lots of them matching, but for different countries and different service providers
Do I why just pick one of them or what ?
thx
Is it carrier-locked ?
If no, then just flash any stock rom-doesn't matter which.
If yes, then I don't know-sorry.
Dont worry about which country the Note came from ..
Pick a Rom that is listed for your country, preferably the latest ..
get your true csc
dial *#06# note down emei then dial *#272*yourimeihere#

From my point of view, I think that everything that you must do for your Note, at the very first time (if you want to be safe with it
and try from many custom ROMs) is to follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810954.
It is a long way, especially for those beginners (like myself).
Don't worry about it. Flash any custom rom. Just stick with the instructions.

Have a look on the Sammobile site. Just search for your device and you will see a list of available firmware.
Flash with Odin. There is a great guide to doing this in the S3 mini general forum.

Thanks for the answer.
The problem is that if I put in SamMobile the CSC number, it offers me the same firm that I have already now.
I want to know if I can flash it with an stock samsung firmware, withouth any provider
My understanding is that if you search for your specific model (I1890 or I1890N or I1890L for instance) you will get a long list of firmwares you could use. Probably several of these will be for your country. Any one of these would be suitable for you to use.
I'm no expert though so perhaps someone could confirm this?

You would want this one:
GT-I8190N Galaxy S III Mini NFC
PDA: I8190NXXAMJ2
CSC: I8190NBTUAMJ1
MODEM: I8190NXXAMJ2
Added: 2013-11-13
