Hi, my phone is a Galaxy Ace 5830L (bought on Chile, latin america) and I want to know if I can safely use the regular 5830 roms or not, or wich one is suitable if any.
Thanks!

I had a galaxy L, the only change is that the L is the american model, appart form that, there's no change at all , the only thing it's that we can't flash european ROMs (KPH,KPN, etc) The only ROMs we can flash are these:
2.3.4 8 (Vivo) Comes from brasil, the only change is that your phone model will change from L to B (I'm using this, works pretty fine!, if you flash it, dont put the CSC file)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144575
and this one: (I haven't used it and don't know nothing about it, but I've read it works fine too)

hope I answered your question! if I did, please press the ''THANKS'' buttom!
Uhmm good to know. So I suppose it is not recommendable to flash any of those ROM found here? Too bad, cause I really wanted to have a shot at a couple of them.
If only u can unlock ur fone.

You can flash any 5830 ROM. The only difference is the hspa frequencies so you have to use a south American modem.

I have a galaxy note with italian baseband. My question is can I flash it with another region's firmware (asian firmware)?
Yes you can!
Yes.You can always flash any region firmwares on your phone. But the firmware should belong to your phone model.i.e N-7000 firmwares on N-7000,and I-917 firmwares on I-917.Which means firmwares are devices specific and not region specific
If you cant understand any of the above, the exact answer for your question is yes you can
would this affect my warranty? & flash count? and another question could i directly flash with an older firmware, im currently on 2.3.6 i was wondering if i could flash 2.3.5?

1.It wont affect warrant as long as you are in stock firmware. But if you have a network locked device I'm not sure because I have no network locked device in my region. If you have international unlocked note, you are 100% covered by warranty as long as its stock
2.Stock roms dont increase counter.Only custom roms do
3.You can flash any GB rom when you are in GB(to make it simple IMO)
Does this also apply to other devices?
That it is possible to use different firmwares.
(in this particular case LG optimus black p970)
Yup

Yes you can. You can us Odin for PC to do it. Do some searching on the n7000 forums and you will find all the necessary files and flashing tools.
I recommend checking out this excellent thread by Dr. Ketan http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
It explains everything in detail so you should be good to go if you read through it properly.
Hope this helped and good luck!

As long as the hardware is same in both phones.........
Hi xda-developers,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab (P1000) (hw ver. rev1.2), provided by Vodafone Portugal, and I want exploit the device by installing custom ROMs.
But as you can imagine, I want to be sure that I can revert the device to this state whenever I want. And this is my problem....
I've been searched for tutorials how to do this, but i could not find this specific ROM.
Info after pressing *#1234# :
Firmware Version:
PDA - P1000BUJQ3
PHONE - P1000BUJQ1
CSC - P1000TCLJQ1
Android version is 2.3.6 and carrier is Vodafone Portugal
I also went to a Vodafone forum, and they suggested an alternative by asking a previous version ROM to Samsung (unlikelly): Android 2.2, P1000BUJI4+P1000TCLJI1
I also can't get this one.
Questions:
Do you have any sugesttions where can I get this stock ROM (preference 2.3.6)?
What does people like me normally do in this sittuations on their devices?
Is there any Stock Rom without carrier (directly from Samsung)? Can I install another P1000 stock rom from another carrier (I don't like this sollution) ?
Let me just say this.
You P1000 is no different than all the P1000 talked about here.
Just read all some if the threads here and you know what to do.

Thanks priyana, but I want to preserve the original ROM for a eventual revert, and that's what I can't find in any P1000 thread.

Thanks nurusz, but I don't want how to flash the P1000;
What I want is the stock ROM for P1000, carrier Vodafone Portugal (TCL), no matter what version (2.2 or 2.3) and not-rooted
I have 2.3 now in my P1000 (that was never flashed before (only updated via Kies)).
Does anyone provide me any reliable solution to this?
Thank you!
is choose the correct baseband or region ROM important when we flash our SGA?
for example, i am live in Malaysia (Asia), if i flash my phone with a Euro ROM, will it cause any issue ?
i had this problem before, while i am using a Euro ROM in Asia, my GPS can't locate my current position, i tried on sunny day, outside building, wait for an hour, it still can't locate my position. after that, i flash again by using Asia ROM, then my GPS working well.
somebody told me that not only GPS, sometime sms, call, 3G, EDGE , also having problem.
i just want to confirm, is that cause by that ROM is not belong to my region?
You can flash any firmware as long as its for S5830...
Insert witty sentence here
This is mainly for S5830L
S5830 firmwares work on S5830L but you'll have problems with 3G.
As long as your phone is a S5830 you can flash any fimware for it.

I live in Asia, but I once use the EUR firmware, and nothing happen to my device.
I think it's only matter of the language selections

Some roms you have to go back to stock Tom or at least a rom that has stock or stock like kernel for it to work properly. If the rom you want has a custom kernel and the rom you have does too the kernels might not change, you might get the new rom but with the kernel from your last rom. If the kernel isn't compatible with your new rom it can cause problems. That's in my experience anyway. Hope that helped!

I have the same phone, GT-9305T from Vodaphone & flashed the Galaxyrom ver 4.1.2. Had problems with an earlier Galaxyrom 4.3, Ver 12.1 but Camera app has problem There are fixes available but haven't tried yet. Will try again with later release but for the moment I'm happy with 4.1.2.
Everything works & Aussie Developer so feel more confident that the rom will fit aussie phones.
